Ensemble prediction is widely used to represent the uncertainty of single deterministic Numerical Weather Prediction(NWP) caused by errors in initial conditions(ICs). The traditional Singular Vector(SV) initial perturbation method tends only to capture synoptic scale initial uncertainty rather than mesoscale uncertainty in global ensemble prediction. To address this issue, a multiscale SV initial perturbation method based on the China Meteorological Administration Global Ensemble Prediction System(CMA-GEPS) is proposed to quantify multiscale initial uncertainty. The multiscale SV initial perturbation approach entails calculating multiscale SVs at different resolutions with multiple linearized physical processes to capture fast-growing perturbations from mesoscale to synoptic scale in target areas and combining these SVs by using a Gaussian sampling method with amplitude coefficients to generate initial perturbations. Following that, the energy norm,energy spectrum, and structure of multiscale SVs and their impact on GEPS are analyzed based on a batch experiment in different seasons. The results show that the multiscale SV initial perturbations can possess more energy and capture more mesoscale uncertainties than the traditional single-SV method. Meanwhile, multiscale SV initial perturbations can reflect the strongest dynamical instability in target areas. Their performances in global ensemble prediction when compared to single-scale SVs are shown to(i) improve the relationship between the ensemble spread and the root-mean-square error and(ii) provide a better probability forecast skill for atmospheric circulation during the late forecast period and for short-to medium-range precipitation. This study provides scientific evidence and application foundations for the design and development of a multiscale SV initial perturbation method for the GEPS.

In this work,poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT)ultrathin films(P3HT-T)were prepared by spin-coating a dilute P3HT solution(in a toluene:o-dichlorobenzene(Tol:ODCB)blend with a volume ratio of 80:20)with ultrasonication and the addition of the nucleating agent bicycle[2.2.1]heptane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid disodium salt(HPN-68L)on glass,Si wafers and indium tin oxide(ITO)*** electrical and mechanical properties of the P3HT-T ultrathin films were investigated,and it was found that the conductivity and crack onset strain(COS)were simultaneously improved in comparison with those of the corresponding pristine P3HT film(P3HT-0,without ultrasonication and nucleating agent)on the same substrate,regardless of what substrate was ***,the conductivity of P3HT-T ultrathin films on different substrates was similar(varying from 3.7 S·cm^(-1)to 4.4 S·cm^(-1)),yet the COS increased from 97%to 138%by varying the substrate from a Si wafer to *** grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray diffraction(GIXRD),UV-visible(UV-Vis)spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy(AFM),we found that the solid order and crystallinity of the P3HT-T ultrathin film on the Si wafer are highest,followed by those on glass,and much lower on ***,the surface energy and roughness of three substrates were investigated,and it was found that the polar component of the surface energyγp plays a critical role in determining the crystalline microstructures of P3HT ultrathin films on different *** work indicates that the P3HT ultrathin film can obviously improve the stretchability and simultaneously retain similar electrical performance when a suitable substrate is *** findings offer a new direction for research on stretchable CP ultrathin films to facilitate future practical applications.

Point-of-interest (POI) recommendations in location-based social networks (LBSNs) have developed rapidly by incorporating feature information and deep learning methods. However, most studies have failed to accurately reflect different users' preferences, in particular, the short-term preferences of inactive users. To better learn user preferences, in this study, we propose a long-short-term-preference-based adaptive successive POI recommendation (LSTP-ASR) method by combining trajectory sequence processing, long short-term preference learning, and spatiotemporal context. First, the check-in trajectory sequences are adaptively divided into recent and historical sequences according to a dynamic time window. Subsequently, an adaptive filling strategy is used to expand the recent check-in sequences of users with inactive check-in behavior using those of similar active users. We further propose an adaptive learning model to accurately extract long short-term preferences of users to establish an efficient successive POI recommendation system. A spatiotemporal-context-based recurrent neural network and temporal-context-based long short-termmemory network are used to model the users' recent and historical checkin trajectory sequences, respectively. Extensive experiments on the Foursquare and Gowalla datasets reveal that the proposed method outperforms several other baseline methods in terms of three evaluation metrics. More specifically, LSTP-ASRoutperforms the previously best baselinemethod (RTPM)with a 17.15% and 20.62% average improvement on the Foursquare and Gowalla datasets in terms of the Fβ metric, respectively. © 2024 The Authors.

Lauric acid(LA)has the possibility to improve milk production in dairy cows by improving mammary gland development,however,the mechanism by which it might regulate mammary gland development is *** influence of LA on milk production,nutrient digestibility and the expression of proteins related to mammary gland development in dairy cows were *** primiparous Holstein dairy cows were divided into 4 groups in a randomized block *** treatments included the control(0 g/d LA per cow),low-LA(100 g/d LA per cow),medium-LA(200 g/d LA per cow),and high-LA(300 g/d LA per cow).Yields of milk,fat-corrected milk,and energy-corrected milk quadratically increased(P<0.05),and yield and content of milk fat linearly increased(P<0.05)with LA *** of C12:0,C18:1 and C20:1 fatty acids in milk fat linearly increased(P<0.05),but that of C16:0 fatty acid linearly decreased(P=0.046).Supplementation of LA led to a linear and quadratical increase(P<0.05)in digestibility of dry matter,organic matter,neutral detergent fibre and acid detergent fibre,and ruminal total volatile fatty acid concentration but a linear reduction(P=0.018)in the ratio of acetate to *** enzymatic activities of ruminal pectinase,xylanase,andα-amylase,and populations of total bacteria and anaerobic fungi increased linearly(P<0.05),while populations of total protozoa and methanogens decreased linearly(P<0.05)with increased LA *** LA addition,blood glucose,triglyceride,estradiol,prolactin,and insulin-like growth factor 1 concentrations increased linearly(P<0.05)and albumin and total protein concentrations increased quadratically(P<0.05).Moreover,addition of 200 g/d LA promoted(P<0.05)the expression of protein involved in mammary gland development and fatty acids *** results suggested that LA addition enhanced milk production and fatty acids synthesis by stimulating nutrient digestion,the expression of proteins associated with milk fat synth
