The effects of BCGs on the statistics of large-separation lensed quasars by clusters

We study the statistics of large-separation multiply-imaged quasars lensed by clusters of galaxies. In particular, we examine how the observed brightest cluster galaxies （BCGs） affect the predicted numbers of wide-separation lenses. We model the lens as an NFW-profiled dark matter halo with a truncated singular isothermal sphere to represent the BCG in its center. We mainly make predictions for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Quasar Lens Search （SQLS） sample from the data Release 5 （DRS） in two standard ACDM cosmological models： a model with matter density ΩM = 0.3 and δ8 = 0.9, as is usually adopted in the literature （ACDM1）, and a model suggested by the WMAP seven-year （WMAPT） data with ΩM = 0.266 and δ8 = 0.801. We also study the lensing properties for the WMAP3 cosmology in order to compare with the previous work. We find that BCGs in the centers of clusters significantly enhance the lensing efficiency by a factor of 2 - 3 compared with that of NFW-profiled pure dark matter halos. In addition, the dependence of mass ratios of BCGs to their host halos on the host halo masses reduces the lensing rate by - 20% from assuming a constant ratio as in previous studies, but considering the evolution of this ratio with redshift out to z - 1 would reduce it by - 3%. Moreover, we predict that the numbers of lensed quasars with image separations larger than 10″ in the statistical sample of SQLS from DR5 are 1.22 and 0.47, respectively for ACDM1 and WMAP7 and 0.73 and 0.33 for separations between 10″ and 20″, which are consistent with the only observed cluster lens with such a large separation in the complete SQLS sample.

Single fundamental mode photonic crystal VCSEL with high power and low threshold current optimized by modal loss analysis

The characteristics of the photonic crystal vertical cavity surface emitting lasers（PhC-VCSELs） were investigated by using the full vector finite-difference time-domain（FDTD） method through the transverse mode loss analysis. PhC-VCSELs with different photonic crystal structures were analyzed theoretically and experimentally. Through combining the dual mode confinement of oxide aperture and seven-point-defect photonic crystal structure, the PhC-VCSELs with low threshold current of 0.9 mA and maximum output power of 3.1 mW operating in single fundamental mode were demonstrated. Mode loss analysis method was proven as a reliable and useful way to analyze and optimize the PhC-VCSELs.

Changing profiles of cancer burden worldwide and in China: a secondary analysis of the global cancer statistics 2020

Real-time prediction and precise control of sinter quality are pivotal for energy saving,cost reduction,quality improvement and efficiency enhancement in the ironmaking *** advance,the accuracy and comprehensiveness of sinter quality prediction,an intelligent flare monitoring system for sintering machine tails that combines hybrid neural networks integrating convolutional neural network with long short-term memory(CNN-LSTM)networks was *** system utilized a high-temperature thermal imager for image acquisition at the sintering machine tail and employed a zone-triggered method to accurately capture dynamic feature images under challenging conditions of high-temperature,high dust,and *** feature images were then segmented through a triple-iteration multi-thresholding approach based on the maximum between-class variance method to minimize detail loss during the segmentation *** the advantages of CNN and LSTM networks in capturing temporal and spatial information,a comprehensive model for sinter quality prediction was constructed,with inputs including the proportion of combustion layer,porosity rate,temperature distribution,and image features obtained from the convolutional neural network,and outputs comprising quality indicators such as underburning index,uniformity index,and FeO content of the *** accuracy is notably increased,achieving a 95.8%hit rate within an error margin of±*** the system is applied,the average qualified rate of FeO content increases from 87.24%to 89.99%,representing an improvement of 2.75%.The average monthly solid fuel consumption is reduced from 49.75 to 46.44 kg/t,leading to a 6.65%reduction and underscoring significant energy saving and cost reduction effects.

To the Editor:Fecal immunochemical tests(FTTs)are immunoassays that are designed to detect human hemoglobin to indicate the occurrence of colonic neopla-sia,which have been widely used in global colorectal cancer(CRC)screening *** diagnostic studies demonstrated that strong gradient in site-specific sensitivity existed with typically higher rate for advanced adenoma located in distal colon/rectum than that in the proximal parts,which may be explained by the colonic transition time affecting the degradation of hemoglobin,and the shape of adenoma(pedunculated,flat,and sessile)in different anatomic regions.

Colorectal cancer incidence and mortality:the current status,temporal trends and their attributable risk factors in 60 countries in 2000–2019

Head-to-head comparison of the test performance of selfadministered qualitative vs. laboratory-based quantitative fecal immunochemical tests in detecting colorectal neoplasm

Background:Fecal immunochemical tests(FITs)are the most widely used non-invasive tests in colorectal cancer(CRC)***,evidence about the direct comparison of the test performance of the self-administered qualitative a laboratory-based quantitative FITs in a CRC screening setting is ***:Based on a CRC screening trial(TARGET-C),we included 3144 pre-colonoscopy fecal samples,including 24 CRCs,230 advanced adenomas,622 non-advanced adenomas,and 2268 participants without significant findings at *** selfadministered qualitative FITs(Pupu tube)with positivity thresholds of 8.0,14.4,or 20.8 mg hemoglobin(Hb)/g preset by the manufacturer and one laboratory-based quantitative FIT(OC-Sensor)with a positivity threshold of 20 mg Hb/g recommended by the manufacturer were tested by trained staff in the central *** diagnostic performance of the FITs for detecting colorectal neoplasms was compared in the different scenarios using the preset and adjusted thresholds(for the quantitative FIT).Results:At the thresholds preset by the manufacturers,apart from the qualitative FIT-3,significantly higher sensitivities for detecting advanced adenoma were observed for the qualitative FIT-1(33.9%[95%CI:28.7–39.4%])and qualitative FIT-2(22.2%[95%CI:17.7–27.2%])compared to the quantitative FIT(11.7%[95%CI:8.4–15.8%]),while at a cost of significantly lower ***,such difference was not observed for detecting *** scenarios of adjusting the positivity thresholds of the quantitative FIT to yield comparable specificity or comparable positivity rate to the three qualitative FITs accordingly,there were no significant differences in terms of sensitivity,specificity,positive/negative predictive values and positive/negative likelihood ratios for detecting CRC or advanced adenoma between the two types of FITs,which was further evidenced in ROC ***:Although the self-administered qualitative and the laboratory-based quantitat

Selenium is one of the important trace elements in the human *** deficiency will directly affect human *** people's attention to health,the content of selenium in food has gradually attracted ***,detecting selenium compounds in complex samples remains a *** this work,we built an online heating-reaction *** device combines the electrospray extraction ionization mass spectrometry(EESI-MS)with the heating reaction device,which can simultaneously detect various selenium compounds in complex liquid *** acidic conditions,the sample was heated and catalyzed by a heating reaction device,so that the SeO~(2-)_(3)and O-phenylenediamine(OPD)could generate 1,3-dihydro-2,1,*** on the above reactions,we can detect organic selenium,inorganic selenium and other compounds in liquid samples by organic mass *** this experiment,we determined the content of three forms of selenium:selenomethionine(SeMet),l-selenocystine(SeCys(2)),and sodium *** calibration curves for SeMet,SeCys(2),and sodium selenite showed strong linearity within a range of 0.50-50.00μg/*** limits of detection(LOD)for the three compounds were 0.22,0.27,and 0.41μg/L,*** limits of quantification(LOQ)were 0.68,0.81,and 1.23μg/L,*** recoveries at three levels ranged from 98.8%to 106.1%.In addition,this method can simultaneously detect three selenium compounds and three other specific chemical components in tea infusion samples,providing a rapid and efficient method for identifying tea quality.
