The microstructure and magnetic properties of Co/Cr bilayer films were examined before and after postdeposition annealing by using transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, X-ray diffraction （XRD） technique and vibrating sample magnetometer （VSM）. A model of grain boundary （GB） Cr-rich phase growth involving GB diffusion derived from the Cr underlayer was proposed to elucidate the kinetics of the paramagnetic Cr-rich phase growth along Co GBs within the Co layer. The correlation of the GB Cr-rich phase formation with the magnetic Co grain isolation and accordingly, improvement of magnetic properties was experimentally investigated and discussed in detail. Our analysis results are well consistent with previous micromagnetic simulations on the improvement of magnetic properties by the magnetic grain isolation. The results provide some insights into the processing-structure-property relationships of the Co/Cr bilayer films, and thus suggest that the magnetic grain isolation be feasible not only in longitudinal recording media, but also be effective in tuning the exchange coupling of magnetic grains in perpendicular recording media via the GB diffusion from underlayer and/or overlayer.

A long-term field experiment was established to determine the influence of mineral fertilizer and organic manure on soil fertility. A tract of red soil （Ferralic Cambisol） in Qiyang Red Soil Experimental Station （Qiyang County, Hunan Province, China） was fertilized beginning in 1990 and N20 and CO2 were examined during the maize and wheat growth season of 2007-2008. The study involved five treatments： organic manure （NPKM）, fertilizer NPK （NPK）, fertilizer NP （NP）, fertilizer NK （NK）, and control （CK）. Manured soils had higher crop biomass, organic C, and pH than soils receiving the various mineralized fertilizers indicating that long-term application of manures could efficiently prevent red soil acidification and increase crop productivity. The application of manures and fertilizers at a rate of 300 kg N ha-1 yr-1 obviously increased NzO and CO2 emissions from 0.58 kg N20-N ha-~ yr-~ and 10565 kg C ha-~ yr-~ in the CK treatment soil to 3.0l kg N20-N ha-~ yr-~ and 28 663 kg C ha-~ yr-I in the NPKM treatment. There were also obvious different effects on N20 and CO2 emissions between applying fertilizer and manure. More N20 and CO2 released during the 184-d maize growing season than the 125- d wheat growth season in the manure fertilized soils but not in mineral fertilizer treatments. N20 emission was significantly affected by soil moisture only during the wheat growing season, and CO2 emission was affected by soil temperature only in CK and NP treatment during the wheat and maize growing season. In sum, this study indicates the application of organic manure may be a preferred strategy for maintaining red emissions than treatments only with mineral fertilizer. soil productivity, but may result in greater N20 and CO2

The discontinuity of new types of clean energy,such as wind power and solar cells, has promoted the development of large-scale energy storage systems(EES).Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs) have received extensive attention due to their inherent safety and low cost. At this stage, the performance of ZIBs is still limited by cathode materials. In this work, we have constructed a ZIBs cathode material-V_(2)O_(3)@N–C, through surface coating and N atom doping. The N-doped carbon coating endows V_(2)O_(3)@N–C with excellent structural stability and enhances its electrical conductivity. As a result,V_(2)O_(3)@N–C cathode delivers exceptional reversible of Zn^(2+) intercalation/deintercalation. The fabricated Zn/V_(2)O_(3)@N–C batteries exhibit high capacity of 274.6 mAh·g^(-1) at 5 A·g^(-1) and excellent capacity retention of 94% after 2000 cycles. The reversible intercalation/deintercalation of Zn^(2+) in the V_(2)O_(3)@N–C cathode is proved by ex-situ testing methods. It is believed that this work should inject new vitality into the development of ZIBs cathode.

The symmetry of the fermionic field is obtained by means of the Lax pair of the mKdV equation. A new super mKdV equation is constructed by virtue of the symmetry of the fermionic form. The super mKdV system is changed to a system of coupled bosonic equations with the bosonization approach. The bosonized SmKdV(BSmKdV)equation admits Painlevé property by the standard singularity analysis. The traveling wave solutions of the BSmKdV system are presented by the mapping and deformation method. We also provide other ideas to construct new super integrable systems.

AIM To prepare a Gpm6a/Reelin^(GFPCreERT2) construct with a rapid and reliable strategy using a bacterial artificial chromosome(BAC). METHODS Gpm6 a and Reelin BACs were purified and transformed into SW102 E. coli by electroporation. The GFPCreE RT2 fragment was prepared from a shuttle vector and transformed into SW102 E. coli carrying a BAC. Homologous recombination was induced in SW102 E. coli. Recombinant clones were screened and confirmed by PCR and restriction enzyme digestion. Recombinant clones were transformed into SW102 E. coli to remove the kanamycin *** A complete BAC was successfully transformed into SW102 E. coli by electroporation because BAC purified from SW102 E. coli showed the same pattern as the original BAC with Bam H I digestion. The GFPCre ERT2 fragment was deemed to have been prepared successfully because we obtained the same size fragment as expected. Homologous recombination was induced, and GFPCre ERT2 was deemed to have been inserted into the correct site of the BAC because we found the band change was the same as the expected pattern after restriction enzyme digestion. The kanamycin unit was deemed to have been removed successfully because we obtained different sizes of bands that were consistent with the results expected by PCR with different primers. CONCLUSION The construct of Gpm6 a^(GFPCreERT2) or Reelin^(GFPCreERT2) was prepared successfully, which will establish a foundation for tracing the hepatic stellate cell lineage and studying its function.

Transgenic barley with overexpressed PTrx increases aluminum resistance in roots during germination

A transgenic barley line(LSY-11-1-1) with overexpressed Phalaris coerulescens thioredoxin gene(PTrx) was employed to measure the growth,protein oxidation,cell viability,and antioxidase activity in barley roots during germination on the presence of 2 mmol/L AlCl3 on filter *** results show that(1) compared with the non-transgenic barley,LSY-11-1-1 had enhanced root growth,although both were seriously inhibited after AlCl3 treatment;(2) the degree of protein oxidation and loss of cell viability in roots of LSY-11-1-1 were much less than those in roots of non-transgenic barley,as reflected by lower contents of protein carbonyl and Evans blue uptakes in LSY-11-1-1;(3) activities of catalase(CAT) ,glutathione peroxidase(GPX) ,ascorbate peroxidase(APX) ,and glu-tathione reductase(GR) in LSY-11-1-1 root tips were generally higher than those in non-transgenic barley root tips,although these antioxidase activities gave a rise to different degrees in both LSY-11-1-1 and non-transgenic barley under aluminum *** results indicate that overexpressing PTrx could efficiently protect barley roots from oxidative injury by increasing antioxidase activity,thereby quenching ROS caused by AlCl3 during *** properties raise the possibility that transgenic barley with overexpressed PTrx may be used to reduce the aluminum toxicity in acid soils.

Simultaneous Detection of 13 Key Bacterial Respiratory Pathogens by Combination of Multiplex PCR and Capillary Electrophoresis

Objective Lower respiratory tract infections continue to pose a significant threat to human health. It is important to accurately and rapidly detect respiratory bacteria. To compensate for the limits of current respiratory bacteria detection methods, we developed a combination of multiplex polymerase chain reaction （PCR） and capillary electrophoresis （MPCE） assay to detect thirteen bacterial pathogens responsible for lower respiratory tract infections, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catorrholis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Legionella spp., bordetella pertussis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex, Corynebactefium diphthefiae, and Streptococcus pyogenes. Methods Three multiplex PCR reactions were built, and the products were analyzed by capillary electrophoresis using the high-throughput DNA analyzer. The specificity of the MPCE assay was examined and the detection limit was evaluated using DNA samples from each bacterial strain and the simulative samples of each strain. This assay was further evaluated using 152 clinical specimens and compared with real-time PCR reactions. For this assay, three nested-multiplex-PCRs were used to detect these clinical specimens. Results The detection limits of the MPCE assay for the 13 pathogens were very low and ranged from 10-7 to 10-2 ng/μL. Furthermore, analysis of the 252 clinical specimens yielded a specificity ranging from 96.5%-100.0%, and a sensitivity of 100.0% for the 13 pathogens. Conclusion This study revealed that the MPCE with high specificity and sensitivity. This assay survey of respiratory pathogens. assay is a rapid, reliable, and high-throughput method has great potential in the molecular epidemiological.
