As a crucial transcription factor for spermatogenesis,GATA-binding protein 4(GATA4)plays important roles in the functioning of Sertoli and Leydig *** knockout of GATA4 in mice results in age-dependent testicular atrophy and loss of ***,whether GATA4 is associated with human azoospermia has not been ***,we analyzed the GATA4 gene by direct sequencing of samples obtained from 184 Chinese men with idiopathic nonobstructive azoospermia(NOA).We identified a missense mutation(c.191G>A,p.G64E),nine single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs),and one rare variant(c.^(*)84C>T)in the 3′untranslated region(UTR).Functional studies demonstrated that the p.G64E mutation did not affect transactivation ability of GATA4 for spermatogenesis-related genes(claudin-11 and steroidogenic acute regulatory protein,Star),and the 3′UTR rare variant c.^(*)84C>T did not generate microRNA-binding sites to repress GATA4 *** our knowledge,this is the first report to investigate the association between GATA4 and azoospermia;our results indicate that mutations in GATA4 may not be pathogenic for NOA in Chinese men.

Starting from late 2019,the new coronavirus disease(COVID-19)has become a global *** the development of online social media,people prefer to express their opinions and discuss the latest news *** have witnessed the positive influence of online social media,which helped citizens and governments track the development of this pandemic in *** is necessary to apply artificial intelligence(AI)techniques to online social media and automatically discover and track public opinions posted *** this paper,we take Sina Weibo,the most widely used online social media in China,for analysis and *** collect multi-modal microblogs about COVID-19 from 2020/1/1 to 2020/3/31 with a web crawler,including texts and images posted by *** order to effectively discover what is being discussed about COVID-19 without human labeling,we propose a unified multi-modal framework,including an unsupervised short-text topic model to discover and track bursty topics,and a self-supervised model to learn image features so that we can retrieve related images about *** results have shown the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed models,and also have shown the considerable application prospects for analyzing and tracking public opinions about COVID-19.

We selected 106 hemiplegic patients with shoulder pain hospitalized after stroke from three hospi- tals in Nanjing, China between February 2007 and January 2012. All patients had complete clinical data sets and accounted for 45.5% of the inpatients because of stroke. Results showed that the number of patients with hemiplegic shoulder pain post stroke increased yearly, attacking mainly males 50-69 years of age. Of 106 patients, there were 60 cases （56.6%） of adhesive capsulitis, 19 （17.9%） of shoulder subluxation, 14 （13.2%） of complex regional pain syndrome, and 13 （12.6%） of central pain. The main symptoms were shoulder pain （100%）, limit of shoulder mobility （98.1%）, and adhesion of the scapula （56.6%）. MRI of the shoulder showed tendon and ligament lesions （57.1%） and rotator cuff tear （38.1%）. 53.8% of central pain was related to the thalamus, in addition to the basal ganglia, brain stem, and cerebellopontine angle. Shoulder pain, upper limb motor function, and function independence were significantly improved after comprehensive rehabilitation. In par- ticular, electroacupuncture based on basic physical therapy exhibited efficacy on shoulder subluxa- tion and complex regional pain syndrome. Multiple linear regression results showed a negative re- lationship of efficacy of pain management with the attack period of shoulder pain, involvement of the posterior limb of the internal capsule, and duration between onset and rehabilitation treatment, but a positive correlation with pain-related education, pain regression period, and pain diagnosis.

Global well-posedness of the initial-boundary value problem for the stochastic generalized KuramotoSivashinsky equation in a bounded domain D with a multiplicative noise is studied. It is shown that under suitable sufficient conditions, for any initial data u0 ∈L2（D×Ω）, this problem has a unique global solution u in the space L2（Ω, C（[0, T ], L2（D））） for any T 〉 0, and the solution map u0 →u is Lipschitz continuous.

Broadband and perfect terahertz absorber based on multilayer metamaterial using cross-ring patterned structures is proposed and investigated. The structure of the absorber is double absorption layers consisting of a chromium cross ring and eight isosceles right triangles. The unique structure of the double absorbing layers excites the electric dipole multimode resonance, giving rise to high absorption performance. Meanwhile, the influence of construal parameters on absorber behavior is also discussed. The numerical results show that the absorption achieves over 90% ranging from 2.45 THz to 6.25 THz and 99% absorption in the range of 3.7—5.3 THz. The realization of broadband and perfect absorber is described using the impedance matching principle. It is obviously found that the absorber is insensitive to the high angle of incidence for both transverse electric(TE) and transverse magnetic(TM) polarizations. Compared with the former reports, this absorber has remarkable improved absorption efficiency and smaller period. The terahertz absorber may be found applications in the fields of energy capture and thermal detection.

Printable elastic conductors promote the wide application of consumable electronic textiles (e-textiles) for pervasive healthcare monitoring and wearable computation. To assure a clean appearance, the e-textiles require a washing process to clean up the dirt after daily use. Thus, it is crucial to develop low-cost printable elastic conductors with strong adhesion to the textiles. Here, we report a composite elastic conductor based on Ag nanowires (NWs) and polyurethane elastomer. The composite could be dispersed into ink and easily printed onto textiles. One-step print could form robust conductive coatings without sealing on the textiles. Interestingly, the regional concentration of Ag NWs within the polyurethane matrix was observed during phase inversion, endowing the elastic conductor with a low percolation threshold of 0.12 vol.% and high conductivity of 3,668 S·cm^−1. Thanks to the high adhesion of the elastic conductors, the resulted e-textiles could withstand repeated stretching, folding, and machine washing (20 times) without obvious performance decay, which reveals its potential application in consumable e-textiles.
