The Prydz Belt in East Antarctica underwent extensive reworking during the late neoprotertozoic–early Paleozoic Pan-African orogeny,which is characterized by granulite facies,clockwise P–T paths,and high dT/dP *** study compiles the existing age and composition data of zircon and monazite from metamorphic rocks and links their key characteristics to the metamorphic evolution of the Prydz *** frequency of zircon U–Pb ages starts to increase noticeably from~555 Ma,peaking between 530 Ma and 520 Ma,followed by a dramatic decline after 520 *** Th/U values(>0.1)of zircon are observed from~545 Ma,display.ng a noticeable increasing trend in Th/U values before a rapid decline from~520 *** frequency of monazite ages progressively increases from~540 Ma,reaching its peak at 515 Ma,and then rapidly decreases after 490 *** with the crystallization behaviors of zircon and monazite,this study suggests that the systematic changes in Th/U values of zircon after 545 Ma indicate a transition in the thermal regime of the Prydz Belt towards the cooling *** growth of zircon and monazite corresponds to the post-peak cooling process,while the crystallization peak of monazite lags behind that of zircon by~5–15 Ma,which indicates a relatively low cooling *** the granitic intrusions accompanied the entire metamorphic evolution,the majority of them are younger than 520 *** results suggest that the Pan-African event likely peaked at~555–545 Ma and gradually cooled to near-solidus conditions at~520–510 Ma,with a relatively slow average cooling process.

Hydride ion(H-)conductors have drawn much attention due to their potential applications in hydrideion-based *** earth metal hydrides(REH_(x))have fast H-conduction which,unfortunately,is accompanied by detrimental electron conduction preventing their application as ion ***,REH_(x)(RE=nd,Ce,and Pr)with varied grain sizes,rich grain boundaries,and defects have been prepared by ball milling and subsequent *** electronic conductivity of the ball-milled REH_(x)samples can be reduced by 2-4 orders of magnitude compared with the non-ball-milled *** relationship of electron conduction and miscrostructures in REH_(x)is studied and discussed based on experimental data and previously-proposed classical and quantum *** H-conductivity of all REH_(x)is about 10^(-4)to 10^(-3)S cm^(-1)at room temperature,showing promise for the development of H-conductors and their applications in clean energy storage and conversion.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the orientated effective components of Astragali Radix Huangqi(HQ) in HQ Jianzhong Tang(HQJZ), a classical formula of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) used for treating chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG), using HQ as a monarch medicine. Materials and Methods: The spectra of HQJZ containing different polar parts of HQ were obtained using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-Q-Exactive mass spectrometry. Furthermore, the efficacy of HQJZ, which contains different polar parts of HQ, in treating rats with CAG was evaluated using traditional pharmacodynamic and nuclear magnetic resonance-based metabonomics. Grey relation analysis and partial least squares analysis were applied to analyze the spectrum–effect relationship and to screen out the orientated effective components related to HQ in the treatment of CAG. Results: Spectrum–effect relationship analysis showed that 24 compounds identified from the fingerprint spectrum were strongly correlated with efficacy. Compounds 8(calycosin-7-O-glc-6”-O-acetate), 9(3-hydroxy-9, 10-dimethoxyptercarpan), and 22(astragaloside II) were ranked among the top three. Conclusions: This study showed that integrating metabolomics and spectrum–effect relationship analysis is a powerful tool for obtaining orientated effective components of Chinese medicine in a given TCM formula.

We present a detailed theoretical and numerical analysis on the temporal-spectral-spatial evolution of a highpeak-power femtosecond laser pulse in two sets of systems:a pure lithium niobate(Ln)plate and a periodically poled lithium niobate(PPLn)*** develop a modified unidimensional pulse propagation model that considers all the prominent linear and nonlinear processes and carried out the simulation process based on an improved split-step Fourier transformation *** theoretically analyze the synergic action of the linear dispersion effect,the second-order nonlinearity(2nd-nL)second-harmonic generation(SHG)effect,and the third-order nonlinearity(3rd-nL)self-phase modulation(SPM)effect,and clarify the physical mechanism underly.ng the peculiar and diverse spectral broadening patterns previously reported in Ln and PPLn thin plate *** analysis and discussion provides a deeper insight into the synergetic contribution of these linear and nonlinear effects brought about by the interaction of a femtosecond laser pulse with the Ln nonlinear crystal and helps to draw a picture to fully understand these fruitful optical physical processes,phenomena,and laws.

A novel efficient Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2) step-scheme(S-scheme)heterojunction photocatalyst was constructed for the first time and applied in the removal of environmental *** the as-prepared photocatalysts,the Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2)-8%heterojunc tion photoc atalyst demonstrates the optimal photocatalytic performance,with the catalytic oxidation efficiency of tetracycline(TC)and the catalytic reduction efficiency of Cr^(6+)reaching 93.3%and 82.1%,*** excellent catalytic properties of Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2) heterojunction photocatalysts are attributed to the effective separation pathways of charges and the presence of S-scheme heterojunctions,together with stronger redox *** is speculated that the photogenerated carrier migration path of the Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2) catalyst follows the typical S-scheme photocatalytic mechanism,which is verified by the in-depth experimental study and simulated calculations including the electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)analysis,free radical quenching experiments,charge density distribution,and simulated built-in electric field formation at the interface,which acts as driving force to promote the separation of photoinduced electrons and ***,the photocatalytic mechanism of S-scheme photogenerated carrier migration for the Cu_(2)WS_(4)/MoS_(2) catalyst is revealed based on the systematic experimental techniques and simulated calculations,accounting for its superior photocatalytic oxidation and reduction *** study provides inspiring implications to develop high-efficient S-scheme photocatalytic systems for versatile applications in solarenergy conversion.

Lateral intakes are common in *** pump effciency and sediment deposition are determined by the local hydrodynamic characteristics and mainstream division *** hydraulic characteristics of lateral withdrawal from inclined river slopes at different intake elevations should be ***,the division width exhibits significant vertical non-uniformity at an inclined river slope,which should be ***,a three-dimensional(3-D)hydrodynamic and particle-tracking model was developed with the Open Source Field Operation and Manipulation(Open FOAM),and the model was validated with physical model tests for 90°lateral withdrawal from an inclined side *** flow fields,withdrawal sources,and division widths were investigated with different intake bottom elevations,withdrawal discharges,and main channel *** study showed that under inclined side bank conditions,water entered the intake at an oblique angle,causing significant 3-D spiral flows in the intake rather than two-dimensional closed recirculation.A lower withdrawal discharge,a lower bottom elevation of the intake,or a higher main channel velocity could further strengthen this *** average division width and turbulent kinetic energy were smaller under inclined side bank conditions than under vertical bank *** a low intake bottom elevation,a low withdrawal discharge,or a high main channel velocity,the sources of lateral withdrawal were in similar ranges near the local inclined bank in the vertical *** inclined slope conditions,sediment deposition near the intake entrance could be reduced,compared to that under vertical slope *** results provide hydrodynamic and sediment references for engineering designs for natural rivers with inclined terrains.
