We have developed a new nanofilter using a carbon nanotube-silver composite material that is capable of efficiently removing waterborne viruses and *** nanofilter was subjected to plasma surface treatment to enhance its flow rate,which was improved by approximately 62%.Nanoscale pores were obtained by fabricating a carbon nanotube network and using nanoparticle fixation technology for the removal of *** pore size of the nanofilter was approximately 38 nm and the measured flow rate ranged from 21.0 to 97.2 L/（min·m^2）under a pressure of 1–6 kgf/cm^2 when the amount of loaded carbon nanotube-silver composite was 1.0 mg/cm^*** nanofilter was tested against Polio-,Noro-,and Coxsackie viruses using a sensitive real-time polymerase chain reaction assay to detect the presence of viral particles within the *** trace of viruses was found to flow through the nanofilter with carbon nanotube-silver composite loaded above 0.8 mg/cm^***,the surface of the filter has antibacterial properties to prevent bacterial clogging due to the presence of 20-nm silver nanoparticles,which were synthesized on the carbon nanotube surface.

AIM： To investigate the role of O-GIcNAcylation of nuclear factor-kappa B （NF-KB） in retinal ganglion cell （RGC） death and analysedthe effect of Aralia elata （AE） on neurodegen- eration in diabetic mice. METHODS： C57BL/6mice with streptozotocin-induced diabetes were fed daily with AE extract or control （CTL） diet at the onset of diabetes mellitus （DM）. Two months af- tar injection of streptozotocin or saline, the degree of cell death and the expression of O-GIcNAc transferase （OGT）, N-acetyl-b-D-glucosaminidase （OGA）, O-GIcNAcylated pro- teins, and O-GIcNAcylation of NF-KB were examined. RESULTS： AE did not affect the metabolic status of diabetic mice. The decrease in the inner retinal thickness （P〈0.001 vs CTL, P〈0.01 vs DM） and increases in RGCs with terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labelling （P〈0.001 vs CTL, P〈0.0001 vs DM）, glial activation, and active caspase-3 （P〈0.0001 vs CTL, P〈0.0001 vs DM） were blocked in diabetic retinas of AE extract-fed mice. Expression levels of protein O-GIcNAcylation and OGT were increased in diabetic retinas （P〈0.0001 vs CTL）, and the level of O-GIcNAcylation of the NF-KB p65 subunit was higher in diabetic retinas than in controls （P〈0.0001 vs CTL）. AE extract downregulated O-GIcNAcylation of NF-KB and prevented neurodegeneration induced by hyperglycemia （P〈0.0001 vs DM）. CONCLUSION： O-GIcNAcylation of NF-KB is concerned in neuronal degeneration and that AE prevents diabetes-in- duced RGC apoptosis via downregulation of NF-KB O-GI- cNAcylation. Hence, O-GIcNAcylation may be a new object for the treatment of DR, and AE may have therapeutic pos- sibility to prevent diabetes-induced neurodegeneration.

Despite the enormous interest in inorganic/polymer composite solid-state electrolytes(CSEs)for solid-state batteries(SSBs),the underlying ion transport phenomena in CSEs have not yet been ***,we address this issue by formulating a mechanistic understanding of bi-percolating ion channels formation and ion conduction across inorganic-polymer electrolyte interfaces in CSEs.A model CSE is composed of argyrodite-type Li_6PS_5Cl(LPSCl)and gel polymer electrolyte(GPE,including Li~+-glyme complex as an ion-conducting medium).The percolation threshold of the LPSCl phase in the CSE strongly depends on the elasticity of the GPE ***,manipulating the solvation/desolvation behavior of the Li~+-glyme complex in the GPE facilitates ion conduction across the LPSCl-GPE *** resulting scalable CSE(area=8×6(cm×cm),thickness~40μm)can be assembled with a high-mass-loading LiNi_(0.7)Co_(0.15)Mn_(0.15)O_(2)cathode(areal-mass-loading=39 mg cm~(-2))and a graphite anode(negative(N)/positive(P)capacity ratio=1.1)in order to fabricate an SSB full cell with bi-cell *** this constrained cell condition,the SSB full cell exhibits high volumetric energy density(480 Wh L_(cell)~(-1))and stable cyclability at 25℃,far exceeding the values reported by previous CSE-based SSBs.

Port site hernia develops through a fascial or peritoneal layer that was inadequate or not repaired. It is a rare complication of laparoscopic surgery which may lead to serious problems. Here,we present a 77-year-old female,diagnosed with a small bowel hernia through a 10-mm port site. We had performed ten cases of laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy before this case. The patient complained of left lower abdominal pain with a palpable mass. Abdominal CT showed an incarcerated small bowel hernia and the patient underwent segmental resection of the strangulated small bowel through a minimally extended port site incision.

A ransomware attack that interrupted the operation of Colonial Pipeline(a large *** pipeline company),showed that security threats by malware have become serious enough to affect industries and social infrastructure rather than individuals *** agents and characteristics of attacks should be identified,and appropriate strategies should be established accordingly in order to respond to such *** this purpose,the first task that must be performed is malware *** creators are well aware of this and apply various concealment and avoidance techniques,making it difficult to classify *** study focuses on new features and classification techniques to overcome these *** propose a behavioral performance visualization method using utilization patterns of system resources,such as the central processing unit,memory,and input/output,that are commonly used in performance analysis or tuning of *** extracted the usage patterns of the system resources for ransomware to performbehavioral performance *** results of the classification performance evaluation using the visualization results indicate an accuracy of at least 98.94%with a 3.69%loss ***,we designed and implemented a framework to perform the entire process—from data extraction to behavioral performance visualization and classification performance measurement—that is expected to contribute to related studies in the future.

magnetotactic Tetrahymena pyriformis GL （T. pyriformis） cells were created by the internalization of iron oxide nano particles and became controllable with a time-varying external magnetic field. Thus, T. pyriformis can be utilized as a cellular robot to conduct micro-scale tasks such as transportation and manipulation. To complete these tasks, loading inorganic or organic materials onto the cell body is essential, but functionalization of the cell membrane is obstructed by their motile organelles, cilia. Dibucaine HC1, a local anesthetic, removes the cilia from the cell body, and the functional group would be absorbed more efficiently during cilia regeneration. In this paper, we characterize the recovery of artificial magnetotactic T. pyriformis after the deciliation process to optimize a cellular robot fabrication process. After sufficient time to recover, the motility rate and the average velocity of the deciliated cells were six and ten percent lower than that of non-deciliated cells, respectively. We showed that the motile cells after recovery can still be controlled using magnetotaxis, making T. pyrfformis a good candidate to be used as a celIular robot.

A new method of prefetching data blocks from the NVCache to the page cache in main memory and cascading prefetching n-blocks from a hard disk to the NVCache together was proposed to reduce the spin-up frequency of a hybrid hard disk drive and thus enhance I/O *** proposed method consists of three steps:1) Analyzing the pattern of read requests in block units;2) Determining the number of blocks prefetched to the NVCache;3) Replacing blocks in the NVCache according to the block replacement *** proposed method can reduce the latency time of a hybrid hard disk and optimize the power consumption of an IPTV set-top *** results show that the proposed method provides better average response time compared to an existing adaptive multistream prefetching(AMP) method by 25.17%.It also reduces by 20.83% the average power consumption over that of the existing external caching in energy saving storage system(EXCES) method.

NEDD8 conjugation of Cullin has an important role in ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation. The COP9 signalosome, of which CSN5 is the major catalytic subunit, is a major Cullin deneddylase, Another deneddylase, Deneddylase 1, has also been shown to process the Nedd8 precursor. In Drosophila, the DEN1 mutants do not have increased levels of Cullin neddylation, but instead show a significant decrease in neddylated Cullin. This characteristic decrease in neddylated Cullins in the DEN1^null background can be rescued by UAS-dDEN1^WT overexpression but not by overexpression of mature NEDDS, indicating that this phenotype is distinct from the NEDD8-processing function of DENI. We examined the role of DEN 1-CSN interaction in regulating Cullin neddylation. Overexpression of DEN1 in a CSN5^hypo background slightly reduced unneddylated Cullin levels. The CSN5, DEN1 double mutation partially rescues the premature lethality associated with the CSN5 single mutation. These results suggest that DEN1 regulates Cullin neddylation by suppressing CSN deneddylase activity.

Background:The difference in volume change in a pancreatic remnant according to the type of pancreaticoenterostomy after pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD)for long-term follow-up is ***,there are few studies that evaluate the difference in general nutritional status and pancreatic endocrine function,including new-onset diabetes mellitus(NODM)depending on the type of *** study aimed to compare serial pancreatic volume changes in pancreatic remnants between pancreatogastrostomy(PG)and pancreatojejunostomy(PJ)after PD and to evaluate the difference in general nutritional status and incidence of NODM between PG and ***:This study enrolled 115 patients who had survived for more than 3 years after *** were divided into the PG group and the PJ *** clinicopathologic factors were collected and *** calculated serial pancreas volume and pancreatic duct size precisely from preoperative stage to 5 years after surgery by image-processing software specifically designed for navigation and visualization of multimodality and multidimensional *** changes of albumin and body mass index(BMI)as related to general nutritional status were compared between the PG and PJ *** evaluate the incidence and risk factors of NODM following PD,subgroup analysis was performed in 88 patients who did not have diabetes ***:Most patient demographics were not significantly different between the PG group(n=45)and PJ group(n=70).There was no significant difference in volume reduction between the groups from postoperative 1 month to 5 years(PG group?18.21±14.66 mL versus PJ group?14.43±13.05 mL,P=0.209).But there was a significant difference in increased pancreatic duct size between the groups from postoperative 1 month to 5 years(PG group 1.66±2.20 mm versus PJ group 0.54±1.54 mm,P=0.007).There was no significant difference in the increase of total serum albumin between the groups for 5 years after surgery(PG group 0
