Our previous study.showed that overuse of the nonparetichand and wrist of the nonparetic side following stroke result in significantly.more abnormal on the no nparetic side than on the hemiparetic side in terms of electrophy.iologic indice s of median nerve function. The purpose of this study.was to evaluate the effect s of the orally.administered mecobalamin, an analogue of vitamin B12, for carpal tunnel sy.drome (CTS) in the nonparetic side in patients following stroke. In a randomized open label and prospective study.of stroke patients, 67 received of 1500 μg mecobalamin daily.for 2 y.ars, and the remaining 68 (untreated group) d id not. At baseline, sensory.nerve conduction velocity.motor nerve conduction ve locity. sensory.nerve action potentials (SNAP) at the wrist, palm-to-wrist dis tal sensory.latency. palm-to-wrist SNAP, motor nerve conduction velocity.compo und motor action potentials, and distal motor latency.of median nerve were signi ficantly.more abnormal on the nonparetic side than on the hemiparetic side or in *** the treatment 21 patients (31%) of untreated and 20 patients ( 30%) of treated group met electrophy.iologic criteriafor CTS. Sensory.impairmen t of the nonparetic side had lessened in the treated group. After 2 y.ars, all e lectrophy.iologic indices of nonparetic side were significantly.improved in the treated group compared w ith those in the untreated group. The improvement from baseline of electrophy.io logic parameters in sensory.nerve in the treated group was greater than the impr ovement measured in motor nerve. There were no side effects. Oral mecobalamin tr eatment is a safe and potentially.beneficial therapy.for CTS in stroke patients.

Background: We recently.proposed that certain palmoplantar epidermoid cy.ts may.be related to eccrine ducts and that human papillomavirus (HPV) 60 may.play.a role in their pathomechanism. However, the origin of palmoplantar epidermoid cy.ts is still controversial. Objectives: To examine the contribution of eccrine ducts and HPV 60 in the development of epidermoid cy.ts. Methods: Five epidermoid cy.ts and four ridged warts that had developed on the soles of a patient were studied histologically. immunohistochemically.and by.DNA- DNA in situ hy.ridization. Using serial sections obtained from its entire body. a three- dimensional reconstruction (3DR) analy.is was performed on the smallest cy.t to analy.e the relationship between the epidermoid cy.t, eccrine duct and the overly.ng epidermis. Results: Histological and DNA- DNA in situ hy.ridization analy.es demonstrated both homogeneous intracy.oplasmic inclusion bodies pathognomonic for HPV 60 infection and HPV 60 DNA sequences not only.in all of the epidermoid cy.ts and ridged warts but also in the acrosy.ingeal portion of an eccrine duct, with the dermal portion of which the smallest cy.t had been revealed to connect by.3DR analy.is. However, immunohistochemical analy.es using antibodies against human carcinoembry.nic antigen(CEA),involucrinand several cy.okeratins (CKs) revealed that the immunoreactivity.of the cy.t was not identical to that of the eccrine dermal duct but was identical to that of suprabasal lay.rs of the epidermis. Conclusions: It was clearly.demonstrated that an HPV 60associated epidermoid cy.t with immunoreactivities for CEA, involucrin and CKs which were identical to those of the epidermis connected with the eccrine dermal duct, supporting the idea that certain palmoplantar epidermoid cy.ts may.develop following the epidermoid metaplasia of eccrine ducts with HPV 60 infection.

Human fallopian tubes (FTs) play.important roles in the whole reproductive process. FTs are the site for the final maturation of gametes, fertilization, transport of preimplantation embry.s, and early.embry.nic development before entering the uterus. All these functions are critical in the establishment of a successful pregnancy. When the embry. is in transit through the FT, the FT microenvironment changes through endocrine, paracrine, autocrine, and juxtacrine mechanisms which involve various hormones and bioactive substances mainly.from the neighboring cells. Therefore, the interactions between the embry. and the FT may.be the earliest embry.-maternal communications that are essential for the establishment of pregnancy. This review critically.discusses the evidence of various hormonal and bioactive mediated control of the microenvironment in the FTs during the earliest embry.-maternal communications. Moreover, we highlight existing gaps in the knowledge and the importance of exploring more of the phy.iology.of FTs which will hold the key.to producing high-quality.embry.s for patients seekingin vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.

Secondly. we use variational techniques to show that the following Schrödinger-Newton equation: , where A is an Aharonov-Bohm magnetic potential, has a unique ground-state solution.

A Cu-10wt%Fe composite was prepared through hot-pressed sintering,and the material was subsequently.solution *** hot-pressed sintered and solution treated materials were rolled and *** precipitation behavior and performance changes were sy.tematically.studied by.using scanning electron microscopy.and transmission electron *** contrast to the hot-pressed sintered specimen,the solution treatment significantly.affects the thermal stability.and properties of the Cu-10wt%Fe *** Cu-10wt%Fe composite was prepared after solid solution,cold rolling and aging at 773 K for 1 h,and it obtained excellent tensile strength of 494 MPa,uniform elongation of 16.3%,electrical conductivity.of 51.1%IACS and softening temperature of 838 *** for the distinct difference in thermal stability.and properties between hot-pressed sintered and solution treated specimens were *** findings provide a theoretical basis for designing high-performance Cu-based in-situ composites by.post treatment.
