Event segmentation in ADHD:neglect of social information and deviant theta activity point to a mechanism underlying ADHD

Background Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)is one of the most frequently diagnosed psychiatric conditions in children and *** the symptoms appear to be well described,no coherent conceptual mechanistic framework integrates their occurrence and variance and the associated problems that people with ADHD *** The current study proposes that altered event segmentation processes provide a novel mechanistic framework for understanding deficits in *** Adolescents with ADHD and neurotypically developing(NT)peers watched a short movie and were then asked to indicate the boundaries between meaningful segments of the *** recorded electroencephalography(EEg)data were analysed for differences in frequency band activity and effective connectivity between brain *** Compared with their NT peers,the ADHD group showed less dependence of their segmentation behaviour on social information,indicating that they did not consider social information to the same extent as their unaffected *** divergence was accompanied by differences in EEg theta band activity and a different effective connectivity network architecture at the source ***,NT adolescents primarily showed error signalling in and between the left and right fusiform gyri related to social information processing,which was not the case in the ADHD *** the ADHD group,the inferior frontal cortex associated with attentional sampling served as a hub instead,indicating problems in the deployment of attentional *** This study shows that adolescents with ADHD perceive events differently from their NT peers,in association with a different brain network architecture that reflects less adaptation to the situation and problems in attentional sampling of environmental *** results call for a novel conceptual view of ADHD,based on event segmentation theory.

引入小型无人直升机简化动力学模型,阐述了简单、高效的MTC(Model and Trajectorybased Controller)控制算法.基于该算法所实现的飞行控制算法包括两部分:基于转动动力学模型的直升机姿态控制和基于二次积分关系的位置控制.所设计的MTCV算法包含具有良好鲁棒性的位置控制及速度控制功能,并可用于直升机多航点路径的不减速连续飞行控制.仿真实验和实际飞行控制实验结果表明,本飞行控制算法具有有效性和实用性.

g>Aim:g> The aim of this study was to illuminate registered nurses’ (RNs) perceptions of Trust-Based Public Management (TBPM) in Swedish health care. Design: This study follows a phenomenografic approach guided by Ference Marton’s philosophy. g>Methods:g> Semi-structured interviews were used to identify variations in RNs’ perceptions of TBPM. Between February and April 2019, 24 RNs from five Swedish public healthcare departments participated in the study. g>Results: g>The results show that none of the participants had previously heard about the work of the Swedish Delegation for TBPM. The study revealed perceptions those politicians and managers were absent from the workplace, that power had been displaced to HR, and that perceptions of trust in the leadership and of working to guidelines varied. Perceptions varied between RNs employed by the municipalities and by the hospitals concerning administration, the time allotted for work, cooperation, and education.

Tianshanbeilu is the largest Bronze Age site in eastern Xinjiang, China. Stretching across the entire second millennium BC, it performed a prominent role in connecting the Hexi corridor, Central China and the steppe. A further insight into the metallurgical tradition and the metal supply network is of vital importance to improve our understanding of its multi-connected nature. This paper offers a new set of chemical and isotopic data on the copper-based objects at Tianshanbeilu, including alloying elements, trace elements(impurities) and lead isotopes. Combining the concentrations of arsenic and antimony reveals that arsenic was introduced to copper partially due to the use of specific minerals tethrahedrite-tennantite. Lead isotopes demonstrate that multiple sources of copper were employed at Tianshanbeilu and a majority of them are characterized by common lead, which appears rather different from those of the Central Plains and the Hexi corridor, but highly consistent with local ores. Surprisingly, one object at Tianshanbeilu contains the well-known highly radiogenic lead. This object undoubtedly marks the westernmost boundary of the distribution of the highly radiogenic lead. We also anticipate that more lead isotopic analyses in NW China will further contribute to the study of the highly radiogenic lead in Central China.

Background: Several studies analyze how surgical delay affects patients with hip fracture. The aim of this study was to identify the causes of surgical delay and demographic characteristics in patients with hip fracture who had delays longer than 24 hours from admission to hospital. Methods: Quantitative retrospective register study of 484 patients was consecutively included during the period November 1, 2010 and October 31, 2011 in the University Hospital in Lund (Sweden). Results: A frequency of 29.4% had a surgical delay longer than 24 hours. The main reasons for delays to surgery were lack of theatre facilities (54%), medical unstable patient (16%) and anticoagulant treatment (10%). Of all patients, 69% (n = 332) were women and 31% (n = 151) were men. The mean age for women were 83.6 (CI 83-85) vs. 79 (CI 77-81) for men, respectively. The most common type of hip fracture was displaced cervical hip fracture (39%, n = 188) with a majority of fractures in male patients. In total, women suffered hip fractures to a greater extent than men (69% vs. 31%, p = 0.016), but no relationship was found with respect to the fracture type and age (p = 0.358). Conclusion: The main result demonstrated that delays longer than 24 hours were due to lack of theatre facilities. Further researches have to be done in order to investigate whether lack of theatre facilities depends on improper operation planning and/or on lack of medical staff.

Blunt Thoracic Aortic Injury in Pediatric Patients: Demographics, Assessment and Treatment

Background: There is a paucity of information regarding the management of blunt thoracic aortic injury in the pediatric population compared to adults. This article adds three cases of blunt thoracic aortic injuries in pediatric patients to the literature and analyzes these in conjunction with several of the previous case series which have been published. Methods: Three cases were reviewed along with 38 previously reported cases in an attempt to identify trends in demographics and management. The three new cases presented over a four year period. All are male. A six year old and a 17-year-old were involved in motor vehicle crashes and a 10-year-old was struck by a vehicle while skateboarding. Results: The 6-year-old and the 17-year-old were treated non-interventionally due to severe closed head injuries. One received beta blockade. Both survived. The third, without head injury, underwent interposition graft and also survived. Conclusions: These findings are not greatly dissimilar from the adult experience. In reviewing all 41 pediatric cases, findings reveal a high mortality, predominantly due to head injury as well as the aortic injury. Open repair and interposition grafting continue to be the mainstay of management, with endovascular procedures and non-operative management becoming more prevalent recently. The role of beta-blockade is unclear in children with this injury. Further multicenter prospective studies of this rare pediatric injury may be useful.
