The modified simple equation method is employed to find the exact solutions of the nonlinear Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov （KPP） equation. When certain parameters of the equations are chosen to be special values, the solitary wave solutions are derived from the exact solutions. It is shown that the modified simple equation method provides an effective and powerful mathematical tool for solving nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics.

Introduction: Heart failure is a major public health pandemic, particularly in Africa, where its prevalence continues to increase. In northern Mali, few data exist, hence the interest of this study with the objective of studying the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic and evolutionary aspects of Heart failure at the regional hospital of Gao. Patients and Methods: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive study that took place from July 2022 to June 2023 in the medical department at Gao Hospital. Results: The hospital prevalence of heart failure was 44.1%. The mean age was 47.30 ± 20 years (range: 16-88). Hypertension was the most common with 46.1%, followed by a sedentary lifestyle, and diabetes with 18.2% and 8.3% respectively;NYHA stage III-IV dyspnea was found in 83.9%. Reduced ef heart failure was present in 110 patients (76.9%), seventeen cases with moderately reduced ef (11.9%) and sixteen patients had preserved ef (11.2%). Global heart failure was the dominant (91.6%). The main etiologies of heart failure were dominated by hypertensive heart disease in 46 patients (32.2%), followed by postpartum cardiomyopathy with 43 cases (30.1%), primary dilated cardiomyopathy in 18 patients (12.6%), ischemic heart disease in 16 patients with 11.2%. Seven cases of valvular heart disease, or 4.9%. The evolution was favorable under treatment in 104 patients or 72.7%. In-hospital mortality was 14.7%. Conclusion: Heart failure is a common condition in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in our country.

Background:In Egypt,around 1 million children are on the *** children's health is an issue that is not well *** objective of the current study was to determine the health problems of a targeted group of street children seeking medical care and to generate a hypothesis about the positive/negative role of street children care ***:A cross-sectional study was done on 2169 street children who sought medical care at El-Basma clinic at the Center for Social and Preventive Medicine in Cairo University Children Hospital from January 2011 to July ***:Respiratory illnesses and skin problems were the most prevalent conditions,affecting 485 (22.4%) and 359 (16.6%) of the patients,*** issues and trauma were significantly higher among the adolescent *** and gastrointestinal problems were significantly higher among children aged less than 2 *** and cardiac problems were significantly higher among those referred from organizations whereas trauma was significantly higher among those coming directly from the streets.A significant proportion of children at the extremes of the studied age spectrum were coming directly from the *** transmitted infections were rare ***:Respiratory and skin diseases were the major morbidity problems among street children,especially adolescent *** afforded opportunities for access to different health care services.

Cinnamon and lemon are the oldest plants which possess a rising popularity due to their therapeutic potential from centuries. Cinnamomum zeylanicum and lemon (Citrus lemon L.) have been subjected to extensive research. Their essential oils were extracted by steam distillation from selected plants and their chemical compositions were determined by the GC-MS system. Cinnamon and lemon essential oils were examined for antioxidant activity by ABTS method which showed the ability to inhibit lipid per-oxidation. On the other hand, in antimicrobial investigations, cinnamon and lemon essential oils have inhibitory effect against Gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) using Muller Hinton agar medium. The essential oils of cinnamon and lemon showed antifungal effects which were tested against (Candida albicans). The volatile oil of cinnamon bark has been found to be highly effective against all the tested bacteria and fungi. However, lemon peel essential oil has shown medium inhibition for Gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus). On the other hand, the cytotoxic activities of the essential oils were tested on hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal carcinoma. Essential oils have shown good activities on the cell lines. Essential oil of cinnamon showed more inhibition rate than essential oil of lemon. This study reported the importance of both cinnamon and lemon volatile oils and recommends that cinnamon and lemon can be used as an active therapy for humans.

The speed of increasing threats to the riverine water resources makes it more critical to protect the health of Old Brahmaputra River *** current study was done to investigate the concentrations,distributions,sources,and ecological risk of heavy metals in surface sediment from the Old Brahmaputra River,*** were collected from seven sites and analyzed with an inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer(ICP-MS).The results showed that mean concentrations(mg/kg) of heavy metals were in the order of nickel(Ni)(44.69)> chromium(Cr)(30.16)> lead(Pb)(19.31)>copper(Cu)(17.84)> cadmium(Cd)(3.94)> arsenic(As)(2.73).The contamination factor(CF),pollution load index(PLI),enrichment factor(ef),and geo-accumulation index(Igeo) indicated low to moderate *** unit analysis revealed that the studied metals from all stations posed low *** sediment of the study river was uncontaminated to moderately contaminated,posing a minimal ecological ***,Cr,Ni,and Pb originated from anthropogenic sources rather than geogenic sources,and caused the severity of *** this regard,pollutant-based intensive monitoring of heavy metals and holistic ecological risk assessments are required to maintain a sound and healthy aquatic environment in the river.

How to Identify Latent Systolic Dysfunction and Post Operative Risk in Patients with Mitral Incompetence and Normal Ejection Fraction?

Purpose: To study the significance of impaired positive peak rate of left ventricular (LV) pressure development (MR + dp/dt) and global systolic strain (GLPSS) values in patients presented with significant mitral incompetence (MR) in coronary artery disease (CAD) and early dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) with normal ejection fraction (ef). Methods: A description of LV contractile behavior requires measurement of the ability of the ventricle to develop force (pressure) and to shorten. Hence, performance of the ventricle as a pump assessed in the present study by measuring the pressure developed by the ventricle (Left ventricular +dP/dt is estimated from MR jet as the rate of pressure rise from 1 to 3 m/sec) and shortening assessed by GLPSS (this Doppler technology allowed measurement of LV systolic strain for the entire length of LV myocardium). GLPSS and MR + dp/dt were calculated in 30 consecutive patients (mean age was 55 ± 12 years) characterized by echocardiographic evidence of moderate or severe MR (in CAD and DCM patients) and normal ef (mean LV Ejection Fraction of 50.9% ± 5.9%) and compared with those obtained in 35 consecutive controls (age 54.7 ± 11.4 years) with normal echocardiographic study of the heart. Results: The mean values of MR +dp/dt and GLPSS averaged from the 3 apical views, differed significantly in DCM and CAD patients (characterized by significant MR with normal ef) compared with control group, (MR + dp/dt = 733 ± 170 mmhg/s and GLPSS –13% ± 1.3%) versus (1420 ± 210 mmhg/s and -19.5% ± 3.3%) for patients versus control, respectively, p < 0.001. A depressed values of MR + dp/dt were highly correlated with GLPSS values in patients with CAD and DCM, r = 0.78. The combined use of 2D Strain (<-13%) and MR dp/dt (<900 mmhg/s) in the presence of MR (grade II or more) had 89% sensitivity and 92% specificity for detection of patients at risk of post-operative major cardiac events after MR and coronary artery bypass surgery.
