In this study, we tried to verify the neuroprotective effect of Chrysanthemum indicum Linne（CIL） extract, which has been used as a botanical drug in East Asia, against ischemic damage and to explore the underlying mechanism involving the anti-inflammatory approach. A gerbil was given CIL extract for 7 consecutive days followed by bilateral carotid artery occlusion to make a cerebral ischemia/reperfusion model. Then, we found that CIL extracts protected pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region（CA1） from ischemic damage using neuronal nucleus immunohistochemistry and Fluoro-Jade B histofluorescence. Accordingly, interleukin-13 immunoreactivities in the CA1 pyramidal neurons of CIL-pretreated animals were maintained or increased after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. These findings indicate that the pre-treatment of CIL can attenuate neuronal damage/death in the brain after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion via an anti-inflammatory approach.

用白泥作阻隔剂通过土柱浸滤实验对土壤中重金属Cu、Zn、Cr、Pb的迁移规律和阻隔效果进行了研究.结果表明:白泥对重金属Cu、Zn、Cr、Pb有显著的阻隔效果,阻隔土样中白泥的含量别为3%、5%、8%、12%,随着白泥含量的增大,滤液的p H值和阻隔土层截留的重金属量增大,滤液中重金属浓度降低.重金属的存在形态对其在土壤中的迁移特性有一定的影响,在土样中加入白泥,重金属的稳定态含量增加,对土壤中重金属的迁移产生阻隔作用.

Objective The Mediodorsal thalamus(MD) is a part of the limbic system and connects reciprocally with the prefrontal cortex,the amygdala and the hippocampus,which comprise a network of structures involved in fear memory. however,the contribution of the MD to fear behavior is poorly *** C(PLC) b4 is expressed intensely in the MD but very lightly in the prefrontal cortex and the amygdala,the two key regions known to regulate fear *** Here,we examined a role of the MD using the PLCb4 knock-out(PLCb4) mice in the formation and extinction of auditory-conditioned *** The PLCb4 mice showed normal acquisition and long-term memory of auditory-conditioned ***,the mutant was severely impaired in fear *** clamp recording on the mutant MD neurons in thalamic slices showed an increase of low threshold Ca currents mediated via T-type Ca channels compared to the wild *** infusion in vivo of T-type channel blocker into the MD ameliorated the impaired extinction phenotype in PLCb4 and facilitated the extinction in wild type *** These results suggest that the mediodorsal thalamus is involved in the control of fear extinction and T-type Ca channels play an inhibitory role in this process.

Long-term administration of scopolamine, a muscarinic receptor antagonist, can inhibit the survival of newly generated cells, but its effect on the proliferation, differentiation and migration of nerve cells in the adult mouse hippocampal dentate gyrus remain poorly understood. In this study, we used immunohistochemistry and western blot methods to weekly detect the biological behaviors of nerve cells in the hippocampal dentate gyrus of adult mice that received intraperito- neal administration of scopolamine for 4 weeks. Expression of neuronal nuclear antigen （NeuN; a neuronal marker） and Fluoro-]ade B （a marker for the localization of neuronal degeneration） was also detected. After scopolamine treatment, mouse hippocampal neurons did not die, and Ki-67 （a marker for proliferating cells）-immunoreactive cells were reduced in number and reac hed the lowest level at 4 weeks. Doublecortin （DCX; a marker for newly generated neurons）-im- munoreactive cells were gradually shortened in length and reduced in number with time. After scopolamine treatment for 4 weeks, nearly all of the 5-bromo-2＇-deoxyuridine （BrdU）-labeled newly generated cells were located in the subgranular zone of the dentate gyrus, but they did not migrate into the granule cell layer. Few mature BrdU/NeuN double-labeled cells were seen in the subgranular zone of the dentate gyrus. These findings suggest that long-term administration of scopolamine interferes with the proliferation, differentiation and migration of nerve cells in the adult mouse hippocampal dentate gyrus, but it does not induce cell death.

It is required to understand the skin color in developing makeup cosmetics. In this study, we aimed to develop the customized BB cream color for Chinese women by understanding their skin color and color preference. It is known that Chinese women have light yellow color, and yellowness and darkening induced by age are evident for the Chinese women. Based on previous studies, we developed two colors and evaluated color preference. The result was that Chinese women preferred pinkish color to yellowish color. We applied this result to BB cream and proposed Chinese customized color. This study demonstrates that the sensuous and rational approach for satisfying color needs and expectations is beneficial in developing makeup cosmetics.
