Membrane and membrane process have been considered as one of the most promising technologies for mitigating CO_2 emissions from the use of fossil fuels. In this paper, recent advances in polymeric membranes for CO_2 capture are reviewed in terms of material design and membrane formation. The selected polymeric materials are grouped based on their gas transport mechanisms, i.e., solution‐diffusion and facilitated transport. The discussion of solution‐diffusion membranes encompasses the recent efforts to shift the upper bound barrier, including the enhanced CO_2 solubility in several rubbery polymers and novel methods to construct shape-persisting macromolecules with unprecedented sieving ability. The carrier-bearing facilitated transport membranes are categorized based on the specific CO_2-carrier chemistry. Finally, opportunities and challenges in practical applications are also discussed, including post-combustion carbon capture(CO_2/N2), hydrogen purification(CO_2/H2), and natural gas sweetening(CO_2/CH4).

Yb3+/Ln3+(Ln=Er/Tm/ho)-α-sialon ceramics were fabricated by hot press sintering *** microstructure and luminescent properties were studied by XRD,EDS,HRTEM and photoluminescence *** results showed that the sintered ceramics consisted ofα-Sialon with a trace amount ofβ-Sialon *** frequency upconversion and downconversion properties of Yb3+/Ln3+(Ln=Er/Tm/ho)-α-Sialon ceramics were investigated under 980 nm low-power *** different concentrations of Yb3+/Ln3+(Ln=Er/Tm/ho)produced multicolor emissions characteristics of each Ln3+ion as a result of the energy transfer from Yb3+to Er3+,Tm3+and ho3+*** EDS spectra measurements and mappings showed that the Ln3+ions were well incorporated in theα-Sialon *** evolution of the emission decay behavior has been investigated to understand the energy transfer mechanism.

In this study, the minimum observability of Boolean networks(BNs) is investigated by using the semi-tensor product(STP) of matrices. First, a new system based on the considered BN is obtained to analyze states pair dynamic trajectories, from which a necessary and sufficient condition for the observability of BNs is determined. Second, adding a new observer improves the observability without affecting the observable states. Thus, an algorithm is presented to design an observer for an unobservable BN. In addition, a necessary condition is obtained to determine the minimum number of nodes required to be directly measurable. Further,an algorithm to address the minimal observability is presented. Finally, examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

A numerical model was used to analyze the motion response and mooring tension of a submerged fish reef system. The system included a net attached to a rigid structure suspended up from the bottom with a single, high tension mooring by fixed flotation. The analysis was performed by using a Morison equation type finite element model configured with truss elements. Input forcing parameters into the model consisted of both regular and irregular waves, with and without a steady current. Heave, surge and pitch dynamic calculations of the reef structure were made. Tension response results of the attached mooring line were also computed. Results were analyzed in both the time and frequency domain in which appropriate, linear transfer functions were calculated. The influence of the current was more evident in the tension and heave motion response data. This is most likely the result of the large buoyancy characteristics of the reef structure and the length of the mooting cable. Maximum mooting component tension was found to be 13.9 kN and occurred when the reef was subjected to irregular waves with a co-linear current of 1.0 m/s velocity. The results also showed that the system had little damping （in heave） with damped natural periods of 2.8 s. This combination of system characteristics promotes a possible resonating situation in typical open sea conditions with similar wave periods.

Macrophages are critical regulators of tissue homeostasis but are also abundant in the tumor microenvironment (TME). In bothprimary tumors and metastases, such tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) seem to support tumor development. while we knowthat TAMs are the dominant immune cells in the TME, their vast heterogeneity and associated functions are only just beingunraveled. In this review, we outline the various known TAM populations found thus far and delineate their specialized rolesassociated with the main stages of cancer progression. we discuss how macrophages may prime the premetastatic niche to enablethe growth of a metastasis and then how subsequent metastasis-associated macrophages can support secondary tumor ***, we speculate on the challenges that remain to be overcome in TAM research.

In this paper, grain-like cascade feedback shift registers(FSRs) are regarded as two Boolean networks(BNs), and the semi-tensor product(STP) of the matrices is used to convert the grain-like cascade FSRs into an equivalent linear equation. Based on the STP, a novel method is proposed herein to investigate the nonsingularity of grain-like cascade FSRs. First, we investigate the property of the state transition matrix of grain-like cascade FSRs. we then propose their sufficient and necessary nonsingularity condition. Next,we regard the grain-like cascade FSRs as Boolean control networks(BCNs) and further provide a sufficient condition of their nonsingularity. Finally, two examples are provided to illustrate the results obtained in this paper.

Dispersoid formation and microstructural evolution in an oxide dispersion-strengthened CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy(HEA)using a newly designed multistep sintering process are *** proposed multistep sintering consists of a dispersoid preforming heat treatment of as-milled 0.1 wt%Y_(2)O_(3)-CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy powders at 800℃,followed by sintering at 800–1000℃ under uniaxial *** the conventional single-step sintered bulk,the coarsened BCC Y_(2)O_(3)dispersoids mainly form with an incoherent interface with the HEA *** contrast,finer FCC Y_(2)O_(3)dispersoids,an atypical form of Y_(2)O_(3),are formed in the matrix region after multistep *** of FCC Y_(2)O_(3)disper-soids is initiated on the favorable facet,the{111}plane of the austenitic matrix,with the formation of a semi-coherent interface with the matrix during the dispersoid preforming heat treatment and it maintains its refined size even after *** is found that dispersoid preforming prior to sintering appears promising to control the finer dispersoid formation and refined grain structure.

Influence of sulfides on the tribological properties of composites produced by pulse electric current sintering

Self-lubricating A1203-15wt% ZrO2 composites with sulfides, such as molybdenum disulfide （MoS2） and tungsten disulfide （wSz） serving as solid lubricants, were fabricated by using the pulse electric current sintering （PECS） technique. The coefficient of friction （COF） of the A1203-15wt% ZrO2 composite without/with sulfides was in the range of 0.37-0.48 and 0.27-0.49, respectively. As the amoant of sul- fides increased, the COF and the wear rate decreased. The reduction in COF and wear rate of the sulfide-containing composite is caused by a reduction in shear stresses between the specimen and the tribological medium due to the formation of a lubricating film resulting from the lamellar structure of sulfides located on the worn surface.
