The Fefferman-Stein-Type inequality for the Kakeya Maximal Operator Ⅱ

Let K, 0 ±1, be the Kakeya maximal operator defined as the supremum of averages over tubes of the eccentricity . The (so-called) Fefferman-Stein-type inequality: $|| {K_\delta f} ||_{L^d({{\rm R}^d,w})} \le C_d ({1 \over \delta})^{(d - 2)/2d}(\log ({1 \over \delta } ))^{\alpha_d} || f ||_{L^d ({\rm R}^d,K_{\delta}w})}$is shown, where Cd and d are constants depending only on the dimension d and w is a weight. The result contains the exponent (d-2)/2d which is smaller than the exponent (d-2)(d-1)/d(2d-3) obtained in [7].

One-Dimensional Modeling of Multiple Scattering in the Upper inner Core: Depth Extent of a Scattering Region in the Eastern Hemisphere

Attenuation of PKP（DF） in the Eastern Hemisphere is examined in terms of multiple scattering to simultaneously explain a puzzling relationship, a relatively fast velocity anomaly corre- sponding to strong attenuation. Reflectivity synthetics with one-dimensional random velocity fluctua- tions are compared with observations of PKP（DF）/PKP（Cdiff） amplitude ratios and differential travel times of PKP（Cdiff）-PKP（DF） for the equatorial paths. A Gaussian distribution of P-wave velocity fluctuations with the standard deviations of 5%, 6%, and 7% in the uppermost 200 km of the inner core is superimposed on the velocity structure that is slightly faster than the typical structure in the Eastern Hemisphere, which is likely to explain both the travel time and amplitude data as far as only the one-dimensional structure is considered. Further examinations of the statistic characteristic of scat- terer distribution in two and three-dimensions are required to obtain a realistic conclusion.

Three-dimensional(3D) scanning technology has undergone remarkable developments in recent *** acquired by 3D scanning have the form of 3D point *** 3D scanned point clouds have data sizes that can be considered big *** also contain measurement noise inherent in measurement *** properties of 3D scanned point clouds make many traditional CG/visualization techniques *** paper reviewed our recent achievements in developing varieties of high-quality visualizations suitable for the visual analysis of 3D scanned point *** demonstrated the effectiveness of the method by applying the visualizations to various cultural heritage *** main visualization targets used in this paper are the floats in the Gion Festival in Kyoto(the float parade is on the UNESCO intangible Cultural Heritage List) and Borobudur Temple in indonesia(a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Japan lacked resources is a large import country and also a large consuming *** it is turned society structure system of consumption goods stocked in domestic,which leads to 450 millions ton waste ***,because of continuing development of intermediate handling and recycled utilization technology,finally disposed waste materials approximately 30 millions *** quantity of concrete product is consumed 300 millions ton per year unprecedented,beau case of large scope,it is expected valid and large absorption industry of recycled material. The purpose of this paper is to do a report on applied present status and future assignment of recycled material and building structure in Japan.

Photosynthetic recovery of desiccated intertidal seaweeds after rehydration

intertidal seaweeds experience periodical desiccation and rehydration to different extents due to the tidal cycles and their vertical distributions. Their photosynthetic recovery process during the rehydration may show different patterns among the seaweeds from different zonations or depths at intertidal zone. in this study 12 species of seaweeds collected from the upper, middle, lower and sublittoral zones were examined. The relationship of the photosynthetic recovery to vertical distribution was assessed by comparing their patterns of photosynthetic and respiratory performances after rehydration following desiccation. Both the photosynthesis and dark respiration declined during emersion, showing certain degrees of recovery after re-immersion into seawater for most species, but the extents were markedly different from one species to the other. The species from upper intertidal zone after being rehydrated for 1 hour, following 2 hours of desiccation, achieved 100% recovery of their initial physiological activity, while most of the lower or sublittoral species did not achieve full recovery. it is the ability to withstand desiccation stress (fast recovery during rehydration), but not that to avoid desiccation (water retaining ability) that determines the distribution of intertidal seaweeds. Such physiological behavior during rehydration after desiccation reflects the adaptive strategy of intertidal seaweeds against desiccation and their capability of primary production in the process of rehydration.

DETERMiNATiON OF SOME PARAMETERS OF CRACK BASED ON FRASTA SiMULATiON

A new method, using the fracture-surface topography analysis （FRASTA）, of determining the parameters of rotation factor and CTOA is provided. The fracture surfaces are scanned by laser microscope and the height data is recorded to analyze. By comparing the crack extension, plastic rotation factor and COA obtained by the method of double clip gauge and by this new method respectively, the validity of it is verified. it is then used to determine the CTOA. .The critical CTOA is well determined in this paper. Also by the new method, the variation of crack opening deformation （COA and CTOA） through specimen thickness can be obtained which can＇t be obtained by the usual methods. it also can provide much information of crack extension such as direction and ratio.

DEVELOPMENT OF FRASTA SiMULATiON SOFTWARE

Fracture-surface topography analysis （FRASTA） was successfully used to simulate the process of crack and calculate parameters of crack such as the crack opening angle （COA） and crack-tip opening angle （CTOA）. But because the amount of calculation is large, errors are often made during the course of calculation. FRASTA simulation software, namely fracture surface analyst （FSA ） is developed and a series of center-cracked tension （CCT） and double edge notched （DEN） specimens of different materials with different sizes are tested, their fracture surfaces are scanned by non-contact 319 scanning system and the elevation data of the fracture surfaces is recorded. FSA used the recorded elevation data of fracture surfaces to simulate the process of crack based on the principle of FRASTA. Results show that FSA can accurately simulate the process and calculate the parameters of crack.

Solvent extraction equilibrium of dysprosium(Ⅲ) from nitric acid solutions with 2-ethylhexylphosphonic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester

in view of the importance of solvent extraction of rare earth metals with the acidic organophosphorous reagent,the development of a chemically based model applicable to high concentration is *** the present study,the equilibrium distribution of dysprosium(Ⅲ)between an aqueous nitric acid solution and 2-ethylhexylphosphonic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester (PC88A)was measured in the range of an initial aqueous dysprosium(Ⅲ)concentration from 1.0×10-3to 1.0×10-1kmol/m 3and PC88A concentration from 0.16 to 0.65 kmol/m3in Shellsol D70 as the *** obtained data were analyzed using the chemically based model in order to correlate the equilibrium distribution *** this model,dysprosium(Ⅲ)was assumed to be extracted with the PC88A dimer as a 1:3 complex,the activities were considered for the aqueous species,and the effective concentration of the PC88A dimer was calculated using Alstad's empirical *** a result,the apparent extraction equilibrium constant was determined to be 253(kmol·m- 3)-2with an excellent correlation between the experiment and calculation results in the wide range of the logarithm of the distribution ratio from-2 to *** conclusion,the methodology in this model would be effective for quantitative description of solvent extraction behavior of general rare earth elements as well as dysprosium.
