Orofac.al trauma in rural India： A c.inic.l study

Purpose： Orofac.al trauma is bec.ming a leading medic.l problem worldwide. Most of the studies pertaining to orofac.al trauma have been done in urban areas but very little sc.entific.literature is available for rural areas. Methods： A prospec.ive medic.l institute-based study of orofac.al injury patients was c.rried out from May 2013 to April 2016 （36 Months）. Data regarding inc.denc., age and sex distribution, c.uses, types and site of injury, treatment modalities and trauma assoc.ated c.mplic.tions were c.llec.ed and analysed. Results： A total of 784 patients were studied. Males outnumbered females by a ratio of 2.9：1. Age range was 9 monthse75 years with the peak inc.denc. in the age-group of 18-34 years. Most injuries were c.used by road-side ac.idents （72.7%）, followed by assault and falls in 11.6% and 8% respec.ively. Soft tissue injuries and mandibular frac.ures were the most c.mmon type of injuries. Head/nec. （50.29%） and limb injuries （27.2%） were the most prevalent assoc.ated injuries. Surgic.l debridement and soft tissue suturing was the most c.mmon emergenc. proc.dure. c.osed reduc.ion was performed in 61% of patients and open reduc.ion and internal fixation in 30% of c.ses and 9% were managed c.nservatively. c.mplic.tions oc.urred in 6.88% of patients, mainly due to infec.ion and maloc.lusion. The mean duration of hospital stay was （10.12 ± 6.24） days. c.nc.usion： This study highlights the importanc. of department of dental surgery along with other disc.plinaries in the management of orofac.al injuries. Road-side ac.ident remains the major etiologic.l fac.or of orofac.al injuries in our setting.

The applic.tion of extrac.llular vesic.es,partic.larly exosomes(EXs),is rapidly expanding in the field of medic.ne,owing to their remarkable properties as natural c.rriers of biologic.l *** study investigates utilization of exosomes derived from stromal c.lls of tumor adjac.nt normal tissues(NAF-EXs)for personalized medic.ne,whic. c.n be derived at the time of diagnosis by endosc.pic.***,we show that exosomes(EXs)derived from NAFs demonstrate differential bio-physic.l c.arac.eristic.,effic.ent c.llular internalization,drug loading effic.enc.,panc.eatic.tumor targeting and delivery of ***-derived EXs(NAF-EXs)were used for loading ormeloxifene(ORM),a potent anti-c.nc.r and desmoplasia inhibitor as a model *** found that ORM maintains normal fibroblast c.ll phenotype and renders them inc.mpatible to be triggered for a c.F-like phenotype,whic. may be due to regulation of c.^(2+) influx in fibroblast ***-EXs-ORM effec.ively bloc.ed onc.genic.signaling pathways involved in desmoplasia and epithelial mesenc.ymal transition(EMT)and repressed tumor growth in xenograft mouse *** c.nc.usion,our data suggests preferential tropism of NAF-EXs for PDAc.tumors,thus imply feasibility of developing a novel personalized medic.ne for PDAc.patients using autologous NAF-EXs for improved therapeutic.outc.me of anti-c.nc.r ***,it provides the opportunity of utilizing this biologic.l sc.ffold for effec.ive therapeutic. in c.mbination with standard therapeutic.regimen.

Some Investigations on Fuzzy P+Fuzzy I+Fuzzy D c.ntroller for Non-stationary Proc.ss

The paper addresses the adaptive behaviour of parallel fuzzy proportional plus fuzzy integral plus fuzzy derivative (FP+FI+FD) c.ntroller. The parallel FP+FI+FD c.ntroller is ac.ually a non-linear adaptive c.ntroller whose gain c.anges c.ntinuously with output of the proc.ss under c.ntrol. Two non-stationary proc.sses, whose c.arac.eristic. c.ange with time, are c.nsidered for simulation study. Simulation is performed using software LabVIEW TM . The set-point trac.ing response of parallel FP+FI+FD is c.mpared with c.nventional parallel proportional plus integral plus derivative (PID) c.ntroller, tuned with the Ziegler-Nic.ols (Z-N) tuning tec.nique. Simulation results show that c.nventional PID c.ntroller fails to trac. the set-point and bec.mes unstable as the proc.ss c.anges its c.arac.eristic.with time. But the parallel FP+FI+FD c.ntroller shows c.nsiderably muc. better set-point trac.ing response and does not deviate from steady state. Also, a huge spike is observed in the output of PID c.ntroller as the referenc. set-point and proc.ss parameters are c.anged, while the FP+FI+FD c.ntroller gives spike free c.ntrol signal.

Band head spin assignment of superdeformed bands in Hg isotopes through power index formula

The power index formula has been used to obtain the band head spin(I0) of all the superdeformed(SD) bands in Hg isotopes. A least squares fitting approac. is used. The root mean square deviations between the determined and the observed transition energies are c.lc.lated by extrac.ing the model parameters using the power index formula. Whenever definite spins are available, the determined and the observed transition energies are in ac.ordanc. with eac. other. The c.mputed values of dynamic.moment of inertia J~((2)) obtained by using the power index formula and its deviation with the rotational frequenc. is also studied. Exc.llent agreement is shown between the c.lc.lated and the experimental results for J~((2)) versus the rotational frequenc.. Henc., the power index formula works very well for all the SD bands in Hg isotopes expec. for195Hg(2, 3, 4).

Fast Finite Differenc. Solutions of the Three Dimensional Poisson’s Equation in c.lindric.l c.ordinates

In this work, the three-dimensional Poisson’s equation in c.lindric.l c.ordinates system with the Diric.let’s boundary c.nditions in a portion of a c.linder for is solved direc.ly, by extending the method of Hoc.ney. The Poisson equation is approximated by sec.nd-order finite differenc.s and the resulting large algebraic.system of linear equations is treated systematic.lly in order to get a bloc. tri-diagonal system. The ac.urac. of this method is tested for some Poisson’s equations with known analytic.l solutions and the numeric.l results obtained show that the method produc.s ac.urate results.

The systematic. of kinematic.moment of inertia J and dynamic.moment of inertia J of superdeformed（SD） bands in A -130, 150, 190 mass regions have been studied. We have obtained the values of J^（1） and J^（2）for all the SD bands observed in the A-130, 150, 190 mass regions by using the experimental intraband E2 transition energies. The result of this work inc.udes the variation of J with the produc. of valenc. proton and neutron numbers（NpNn）. The phenomenon of band mixing has been observed in the A -130, 150 mass regions and band c.ossing has been observed in the A-190 mass region. The systematic. also inc.udes the variation of J with the produc. of valenc. proton and neutron numbers（NpNn）. Evidenc. of staggering behaviour has been observed in all three A-130, 150 and 190 mass regions. We present for the first time the variation of J^（1）and J^（2）of SD bands in the A-130, 150, 190 mass regions with NpNn.

Systematic.study of rotational energy formulae for superdeformed bands in La and c. isotopes

The experimental rotational spec.ra of superdeformed（SD） bands of 130La, 131c.（1,2）, 132c.（1,2,3） and133 c.（1,2,3） in the A～130 mass region are systematic.lly analyzed with the four parameter formula, power index formula, nuc.ear softness formula, and VMI model. It is observed that out of all the formulae, the four parameter formula suits best for the study of the 130La, 131c.（1,2）, 132c.（2,3） and 133c.（1,2,3） SD bands. The four parameter formula works effic.ently in determining the band head spin of the 130La, 131c.（1,2） 132c.（2,3） and 133c.（1,2,3） SD bands. Good agreement is seen between the c.lc.lated and observed transition energies whenever the ac.urate spin is assigned. In 132c.（1）, the power index formula is found to work better than the other three formulae. The dynamic.moment of inertia is also c.lc.lated for all the formulae and its variation with the rotational frequenc. is investigated.

Band head spin determination of triaxial superdeformed bands in ^163,164,165Lu through two-parameter formulae

The two-parameter formulae, i.e. the nuc.ear softness formula and the power index formula, have been used to obtain the band head spin （I0） of the triaxial superdeformed （SD） bands in ^163Lu（1,2,3,4）, ^164Lu（1,2,3） and ^165Lu（1,2,3）, in the A - 160 mass region. The least squares fitting approac. is used. The values of the root mean square （RMS） deviation among the c.mputed and the measured experimental transition energies are obtained by c.lc.lating the model parameters. Whenever ac.urate spins are available, superb agreement is shown between the determined and the measured experimental transition energies. In c.mparison to the power index formula, the values of band head spin （I0） of the triaxial SD bands in ^163Lu（1,2,3,4）, ^164Lu（1,2,3） and ^165Lu（1,2,3） obtained by the nuc.ear softness formula are c.oser to the experimental data. The lowest RMS deviation is also ac.ieved by the nuc.ear softness formula. Henc., the nuc.ear softness formula works well for obtaining the band head spin （I0） for the triaxial SD bands in ^163Lu（1,2,3,4）, ^164Lu（1,2,3） and ^165Lu（1,2,3） in the A-160 mass region. The dynamic.moment of inertia against hω is also studied.
