The present study aimed to design, develop, operate and evaluate a sightseeing navigation system in order to support foreign tourists＇ efficient acquisition of sightseeing spot information in Japanese urban tourist areas, about which a variety of information is transmitted, by enabling information to be accumulated, shared and recommended. The system was developed by integrating Web-GIS （Geographic Information Systems）, SNS （Social Networking Services） as well as the recommendation system into a single system. The system used the non-language information such as signs, marks and pictograms in addition to English information, and displayed sightseeing spot information and conduct navigation on 2D and 3D digital maps of the Web-GIS. Additionally, the system was operated for two weeks in the central part of Yokohama city in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, and the total number of users was 54. Based on the results of the web questionnaire survey, all of the specific functions are highly evaluated, and the usefulness of the system when sightseeing was excellent. From the results of the access analysis of users＇ log data, it is evident that it can be said that the system was mainly used before sightseeing and users confirm their favorite sightseeing spots and made their tour planning in advance, using 2D and 3D digital maps.

Identification of activity stop locations in GPS trajectories by density-based clustering method combined with support vector machines

The identification of activity locations in con- tinuous GPS trajectories is an essential preliminary step in obtaining person trip data and for activity-based trans- portation demand forecasting. In this research, a two-step methodology for identifying activity stop locations is pro- posed. In the first step, an improved density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise （DBSCAN） algorithm identifies stop points and moving points; then in the second step, the support vector machines （SVMs） method distin- guishes activity stops from non-activity stops among the identified stop points. A time sequence constraint and a direction change constraint are applied as improvements to DBSCAN （yielding an improved algorithm known as C-DBSCAN）. Then three major features are extracted for use in the SVMs method： stop duration, mean distance to the centroid of a cluster of points at a stop location, and the shorter of distances from current location to home and to the workplace. The proposed methodology was tested using GPS data collected from mobile phones in the Nagoya area of Japan. The C-DBSCAN algorithm achieves an accuracy of 90 % in identifying stop points in the first step, while the SVMs method is 96 % accurate in distin- guishing the locations of activity stops from non-activity stops in the second step. Compared to other variants of DBSCAN used to identify activity locations from GPS trajectories, this two-step method is generally superior.

Dipeptidyl peptidase Ⅳ (DPPIV), which belongs to the prolyl oligopeptidase family of serine proteases, is known to have a variety of regulatory biological functions and has been shown to be implicated in type 2 diabetes. It is therefore important to develop selective human DPPIV (hDPPIV) inhibitors. In this study, we determined the crystal structure of apo hDPPIV at 1.9 A resolution. Our high-resolution crystal structure of apo hDPPIV revealed the presence of sodium ion and glycerol molecules at the active site. In order to elucidate the hDPPIV binding mode and substrate specificity, we determined the crystal structure of hDPPIV-diprotin B (Val-Pro-Leu) complex at 2.1 A resolution, and clarified the difference in binding mode between diprotin B and diprotin A (Ile-Pro-Ile) into the active site of hDPPIV. Comparison between our crystal structures and the reported apo hDPPIV structures revealed that positively charged functional groups and conserved water molecules contributed to the interaction of ligands with hDPPIV. These results are useful for the design of potent hDPPIV inhibitors.

Observation of Impurity Accumulation After Hydrogen Multi-Pellet Injection in Large Helical Device

Impurity accumulation is studied for neutral beam-heated discharges after hydrogen multi-pellet injection in Large Helical Device （LHD）. Iron density profiles are derived from radial profiles of EUV line emissions of FeXV-XXIV with the help of the collisional-radiative model. A peaked density profile of Fe2a＋ is simulated by using one-dimensional impurity transport code. The result indicates a large inward velocity of -6 m/s at the impurity accumulation phase. However, the discharge is not entirely affected by the impurity accumulation, since the concentration of iron impurity, estimated to be 3.3x10-5 to the electron density, is considerably small. On the other hand, a flat profile is observed for the carbon density of C6＋, which is derived from the Zeff profile, indicating a small inward velocity of -1 m/s. These results suggest atomic number dependence in the impurity accumulation of LHD, which is similar to the tokamak result.

A practical method for evaluating the three-dimensional（3D） position and velocity of a moving object used in the parabolic flight experiment is developed by using the binocular stereo vision measurement theory. The camera calibration mathematic model without considering the lens distortion is *** direct linear transformation（DLT） algorithm is improved to accomplish the camera *** camera calibration result and optimization algorithm are used to calculate the object＇s world coordinate from image *** 3D position and the velocity of the moving object are *** standard uncertainty in estimating the velocity is 0.0024 m/s,which corresponds to 1%level of the velocity of the object in the *** results show that this method is very useful for the parabolic flight experiments.

Direct catalytic conversion of methane to benzene at non-oxidative condition is considered as one of key reac-tions for constitution of sustainable carbon-cycling processes,since either biomethane or CO_(2)-based synthetic methane can serve as its feed *** this concern may motivate many researchers over the world to make their continuous effort to gain deep insight into the catalytic mechanism of this catalysis system and the essential cause of the catalyst deactivation,successful development of a catalyst with high performance,enhanced coking resistance and long-term operating stability will be the key to its industrial *** in this review pa-per,we demonstrate the high catalytic activity and stability of our two shaped Mo/HZSM-5 catalysts developed respectively for fixed-bed and fluidized-bed operations at severe reaction ***,a pos-sibly high aromatization temperature is required to attain a desired high benzene formation rate,but adopting such a temperature will certainly accelerate coke formation and catalyst ***,the focus of the catalyst development was laid on finding various effective ways of suppressing coke accumulation and catalyst deactivation at practically required severe reaction conditions,and much effort was made to attain the *** a result,a highly active and selective pelleted Mo/HZSM-5 catalyst has been successfully developed and was stably run in a fixed-bed reactor under cyclic regeneration operation mode over 1000 *** parallel a binder-free,fluidizable Mo/HZSM-5 catalyst with certain mechanical strength has also been developed and successfully tested in a dual circulating fluidized-bed reactor system to provide a stable benzene yield of about 12%at 1073 K and 3000 ml/g/h space velocity.

Steroid-sparing strategies in the management of ulcerative colitis:Efficacy of leukocytapheresis

Active ulcerative colitis （UC） is frequently associated with infiltration of a large number of leukocytes into the bowel mucosa. Leukocytapheresis is a novel nonphar- macologic approach for active UC, in which leukocytes are mechanically removed from the circulatory system. Current data indicate that leukocytapheresis is effica- cious in improving response and remission rates with excellent tolerability and safety in patients with UC. Corticosteroid therapy remains a mainstay in the treat- ment of active UC, however, long-term, high doses of corticosteroids usually produce predictable and po- tentially serious side effects. If leukocytapheresis can spare patients from exposure to corticosteroids, the risk of steroid-induced adverse events should be mini- mized. This may be of great benefit to patients because severe side effects of steroids seriously impair health- related quality of life. In this article, we reviewed cur- rent evidence on whether leukocytapheresis can avoid or reduce the use of corticosteroids in the manage- ment of patients with UC. Several studies have shown that leukocytapheresis was effective for steroid-nafve patients with active UC. Furthermore, both short-term and long-term studies have demonstrated the steroid- sparing effects of leukocytapheresis therapy in patients with UC. Although the evidence level is not striking, theavailable data suggest that leukocytapheresis can avoid or reduce the use of corticosteroids in the management of UC. Large, well-designed clinical trials are necessary to more accurately evaluate the steroid-sparing effects of leukocytapheresis in the management of UC.

The journey to implement cancer genomic medicine(CGM)in oncology practice began in the 1980s,which is considered the dawn of genetic and genomic cancer *** the time,a variety of activating oncogenic alterations and their functional significance were unveiled in cancer cells,which led to the development of molecular targeted therapies in the 2000s and *** CGM is still a relatively new discipline and it is difficult to predict to what extent CGM will benefit the diverse pool of cancer patients,the National Cancer Center(NCC)of Japan has already contributed considerably to CGM advancement for the conquest of *** back at these past achievements of the NCC,we predict that the future of CGM will involve the following:1)A biobank of paired cancerous and non-cancerous tissues and cells from various cancer types and stages will be *** quantity and quality of these samples will be compatible with omics *** biobank samples will be linked to longitudinal clinical information.2)New technologies,such as whole-genome sequencing and artificial intelligence,will be introduced and new bioresources for functional and pharmacologic analyses(e.g.,a patient-derived xenograft library)will be systematically deployed.3)Fast and bidirectional translational research(bench-to-bedside and bedside-to-bench)performed by basic researchers and clinical investigators,preferably working alongside each other at the same institution,will be implemented;4)Close collaborations between academia,industry,regulatory bodies,and funding agencies will be established.5)There will be an investment in the other branch of CGM,personalized preventive medicine,based on the individual's genetic predisposition to cancer.
