This work uses quantum chemistry calculations and machine learning to explore design rules for singlet fission in a chemical space of four million indigoid *** identify~400,000 derivatives of 2,2′-diethenyl cibalackrot,which theoretically fulfil the energy conditions for exoergic singlet fission above the silicon band gap *** this database with a random forest classifier,we observe that small substituents with positive mesomeric effects and weak negative inductive effects reinforce the desired energetic conditions when placed at specific ***,a subset of molecules that reflects the random forest classifier’s rules are investigated for their quantum chemical properties to translate the desirable structural motifs into wavefunction-based design ***,direct correlations between the energetic condition for singlet fission,the biradical character and the charge and triplet spin density in prominent molecular regions are identified,providing insights that may serve as a guide for singlet fission core structure development.

In the wake-rotor interaction fan noise, a number of the interacting modes at the blade passing frequency （BPF） and its harmonics are generated which are prescribed by the number of stator and rotor blades etc. In the present study, the dominant mode is tried to be suppressed by the secondary sound from the loudspeaker actuators. One of the novel features of the present system is the adoption of the control board with the Field Programmable Gate Array （FP（3A） hardware and the LabVIEW software to synchronize the circumferentially installed loudspeaker actuators with the relative location of rotational blades under arbitrary fan rotational speeds. The experiments were conducted under the conditions of three rotational speeds of 2004, 3150, and 4002 [rpm]. The reduction in the sound pressure level （SPL） was observed for all three rotational speeds. The sound pressure level at the BPF was reduced approximately 13 [dB] for 2004 [rpm] case, but not so large reduction was attained for other cases probably due to the inefficiency of the loudspeaker actuators at high frequencies

Primary esophageal combined carcinoma is very rare. The authors herein report 2 cases. Case 1 was a com- bined squamous cell carcinoma and small cell carci- noma, and case 2 was a combined squamous cell carci- noma, adenocarcinoma, and small cell carcinoma. Case 1 was a 67-year-old man with complaints of dysphagia. Endoscopic examination revealed an ulcerated tumor in the middle esophagus, and 6 biopsies were obtained. All 6 biopsies revealed a mixture of squamous cell car- cinoma and small cell carcinoma. Both elements were positive for cytokeratin, epithelial membrane antigen, and p53 protein, and had high Ki-67 labeling. The small cell carcinoma element was positive for synaptophysin, CD56, KIT, and platelet-derived growth factor-~ （PDG- FRA）, while the squamous cell carcinoma element was not. Genetically, no mutations of K/Tand PDGFRA were recognized. The patient died of systemic carcinomato- sis 15 mo after presentation. Case 2 was a 74-year-old man presenting with dysplasia. Endoscopy revealed a polypoid tumor in the distal esophagus. Seven biopsies were taken, and 6 showed a mixture of squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma. The 3 elements were positive for cytokeratins, epithe-lial membrane antigen, and p53 protein, and had high Ki-67 labeling. The adenocarcinoma element was posi- tive for mucins. The small cell carcinoma element was positive for CD56, synaptophysin, KIT, and PDGFRA, but the other elements were not. Mutations of KIT and PDGFRA were not recognized. The patient died of sys- temic carcinomatosis 7 mo after presentation. These combined carcinomas may arise from enterochromaf- fin cells or totipotential stem cell in the esophagus or transdifferentiation of one element to another. A review of the literature was performed.

A large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma(LCNEC) of the stomach is very rare.A 76-year-old Japanese man was admitted to our hospital because of epigastralgia and *** revealed 2 large tumors in the *** did not have multiple endocrine neoplasia typeⅠor Zollinger-Ellison *** modalities,including computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging,revealed no other ***,cholecystectomy,and lymph node dissection were *** resected stomach had 2 tumors:one was an antral ulcerated type 3 tumor measuring 5 cm x 5 cm,and the other was a polypoid type 1 tumor measuring 6 cm x 6 cm x 3 cm in the ***,the antral ulcerated tumor was a well differentiated adenocarcinoma with deep *** fundus polypoid tumor was a LCNEC,being composed of malignant large cells arranged in trabecular and nested *** tumor cells were large and the nuclei were *** were frequently present,and there were many mitotic figures,apoptotic bodies,and necrotic *** lymphovascular permeation was *** out of 29 dissected lymph nodes showed metastatic foci;6 were from the LCNEC and 1 from *** intravascular tumor emboli of LCNEC were seen in the peritoneum around the lymph *** were present in the adenocarcinoma but not in the ***,the LCNEC tumor cells were positive for pancytokeratins,synaptophysin(50%positive) ,chromogranin A(10% positive) ,Ki-67(90%labeled) ,and platelet-derived growth factor-α(80%positive) .They were negative for KIT,p53,CD56,and neuron-specific *** non-cancerous stomach showed a normal number of endocrine *** patient is now treated with adjuvant chemotherapy.

Photospheric C,N,and O abundances of 118 solar-analog stars were determined by applying the synthetic-fitting analysis to their spectra in the blue or near-UV region comprising lines of CH,NH,and OH molecules,with an aim of clarifying the behaviors of these abundances in comparison with[Fe/H].It turned out that,in the range of-0.6■[Fe/H]■+0.3,[C/Fe]shows a marginally increasing tendency with decreasing[Fe/H]with a slight upturn around[Fe/H]~0,[N/Fe]tends to somewhat decrease toward lower[Fe/H],and[O/Fe]systematically increases (and thus[C/O]decreases) with a decrease in[Fe/H].While these results are qualitatively consistent with previous determinations mostly based on atomic lines,the distribution centers of these[C/Fe],[N/Fe],and[O/Fe]at the near-solar metallicity are slightly negative by several hundredths of dex,which is interpreted as due to unusual solar abundances possibly related to the planetary formation of our solar ***,clear anomalies are not observed in the[C,N,O/Fe]ratios of planet-host *** out of four very Be-deficient stars were found to show anomalous[C/Fe]or[N/Fe]which may be due to mass transfer from the evolved companion,though its relation to the Be depletion mechanism is still unclear.

Since the advent of a new academic regime that examines the nexus of humans and water,resilience studies of the coevolution of human-water systems have advanced rapidly because of the climate ***,the concept of resilience poses a new social *** study analyzes the gap in resilience studies through a Sri Lankan water-related disaster research ***,the authors discuss the potential and challenges for resilience evolution under climate change in Sri *** the nuance of resilience,the review showed that resilience is complementarily emerging and embedded in culture and society,such as traditional knowledge and local history,and from scientific research-oriented translation and wide international policy view in *** is the accumulation of stable states and supporting mechanisms found in the interaction between normal phases and emergencies in elements unique to the *** study suggests that it is critical to support the resilience and mechanisms of the whole and each layer,leveraging the diverse and sustainable livelihoods in the Sri Lankan context against climate change.

Optical fiber sensors have attracted considerable attention in health monitoring of aerospace composite structures. This paper briefly reviews our recent advancement mainly in Brillouin-based distributed sensing. Damage detection, life cycle monitoring and shape reconstruction systems applicable to large-scale composite structures are presented, and new technical concepts, ＂smart crack arrester＂ and ＂hierarchical sensing system＂, are described as well, highlighting the great potential of optical fiber sensors for the structural health monitoring （SHM） field.

Challenges and opportunities in nerve regeneration： The central nervous system （CNS） has a limited ability to regen- erate. Subsequent to spinal injury, glial scar formation, creat- ed by fibroblasts, neuroglia, monocytes, and endothelial cells, inhibits regeneration of the injured nerve. The peripheral nervous system （PNS） has a greater regeneration potential than the CNS; however, the current gold standard of treat- ment for a large nerve defect is still autologous nerve grafts, which require multiple surgeries. For this reason, researchers have been trying to regenerate nervous tissues, including brain, spinal cord. and PeriPheral nerves, for decades.

With the goal of predicting the future rainfall intensity in a local region over a relatively short period time,precipitation nowcasting has been a long-time scientific challenge with great social and economic *** radar echo extrapolation approaches for precipitation nowcasting take radar echo images as input,aiming to generate future radar echo images by learning from the historical *** effectively handle complex and high non-stationary evolution of radar echoes,we propose to decompose the movement into optical flow field motion and morphologic *** this idea,we introduce Flow-Deformation Network(FDNet),a neural network that models flow and deformation in two parallel cross *** flow encoder captures the optical flow field motion between consecutive images and the deformation encoder distinguishes the change of shape from the translational motion of radar *** evaluate the proposed network architecture on two real-world radar echo *** model achieves state-of-the-art prediction results compared with recent *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first network architecture with flow and deformation separation to model the evolution of radar echoes for precipitation *** believe that the general idea of this work could not only inspire much more effective approaches but also be applied to other similar spatio-temporal prediction tasks.
