We consider a model with multi-charged particles,including vector-like fermions,and a charged scalar under a local U(1)_(μ−τ) *** search for an allowed parameter region explaining muon anomalous magnetic moment(muon g−2)and b→sℓ^(+)ℓ^(−) anomalies,satisfying constraints from the lepton flavor violations,Z boson decays,meson anti-meson mixing,and collider *** numerical analysis,we explore the typical size of the muon g−2 and Wilson coefficients to explain the b→sℓ^(+)ℓ^(−) anomalies in our model when all other experimental constraints are ***,we discuss the collider physics of the multicharged vectorlike fermions,considering a number of benchmark points in the allowed parameter space.

A reflection asymmetric relativistic mean field （RAS-RMF） approach is developed by expanding the equations of motion for both the nucleons and the mesons on the eigenfunctions of the two-centre harmonic-oscillator potential. The efficiency and reliability of the RAS-RMF approach are demonstrated in its application to the well-known octupole deformed nucleus 226Ra and the available data, including the binding energy and the deformation parameters, are well reproduced.

In this study,a storm surge model of the semi-enclosed Tokyo Bay was constructed to investigate its hydrodynamic response to major typhoon parameters,such as the point of landfall,approach angle,forward speed,size,and *** typhoon simulation was validated for Typhoon Lan in 2017,and 31 hypothetical storm surge scenarios were generated to establish the sensitivity of peak surge height to the variation in typhoon *** maximum storm surge height in the upper bay adjacent to the Tokyo Metropolitan Area was found to be highly sensitive to the forward speed and size of the passing ***,the importance of these parameters in disaster risk reduction has been largely overlooked by researchers and disaster *** was also determined that of the many hypothetical typhoon tracks evaluated,the slow passage of a large and intense typhoon transiting parallel to the longitudinal axis of Tokyo Bay,making landfall 25 km southwest,is most likely to cause a hazardous storm surge scenario in the upper-bay *** results of this study are expected to be useful to disaster managers for advanced preparation against destructive storm surges.

Tremendous advances in artificial intelligence(AI)in medical image analysis have been achieved in recent *** integration of AI is expected to cause a revolution in various areas of medicine,including gastrointestinal(GI)***,deep learning algorithms have shown promising benefits in areas of diagnostic histopathology,such as tumor identification,classification,prognosis prediction,and biomarker/genetic alteration *** AI cannot substitute pathologists,carefully constructed AI applications may increase workforce productivity and diagnostic accuracy in pathology *** of these promising advances,unlike the areas of radiology or cardiology imaging,no histopathology-based AI application has been approved by a regulatory authority or for public ***,implying that there are still some obstacles to be overcome before AI applications can be safely and effectively implemented in real-life pathology *** challenges have been identified at different stages of the development process,such as needs identification,data curation,model development,validation,regulation,modification of daily workflow,and cost-effectiveness *** aim of this review is to present challenges in the process of AI development,validation,and regulation that should be overcome for its implementation in real-life GI pathology practice.

This paper presents experimental studies on bypass transition of separated boundary layer on low-pressure turbine airfoils,focusing on the effects of freestream turbulence on the transition ***-wire probe measurements are performed on the suction side of an airfoil in the low-pressure linear turbine cascade at several Reynolds number *** turbulence is enhanced by use of turbulence grid located upstream of the *** results of this experimental study show that the location of boundary layer separation does not strongly de-pend on the freestream turbulence ***,as the freestream turbulence level increases,the size of separa-tion bubble becomes small and the location of turbulent transition moves *** size of separation bubble becomes small as the Reynolds number *** low freestream turbulence intensity,the velocity fluctuation due to Kelvin-Helmholtz instability is observed clearly in the shear layer of the separation *** high frees-tream turbulence intensity,the streak structures appear upstream of the separation location,indicating bypass transition of attached boundary layer occurs at high Reynolds number.

Tumor growth requires oxygen and nutrient supplementation through angiogenesis from preexisting vascular beds. Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is a hyper-vascularized tumor with a predominant arterial blood flow. Therefore, targeting angiogenesis is essential for treating HCC. Currently approved molecular-targeted agents(MTAs) for HCC affect angiogenic pathways.

The chromosomal locations of two single-copy genes, Ser-1 and CI-13, in silkworm (Bombyx mori) were detected at the molecular cytogenetics level by fluorescence in situ hybridization in the study. The results showed that Ser-1 is located near the distal end of the 11th linkage group, relatively at the 12.5±1.4 position in pachytene; and that CI-13 has been mapped near the distal end of the 2nd linkage group, relatively at the 8.2±1.2 position in pachytene. Furthermore, their location model map-FISH map on silkworm chromosome was drawn. The FISH technique and its application to silkworm are also discussed in this paper.

For the conservation and restoration of river environment,a sediment replenishment technique, which conveys a part of the sediments excavated and/or dredged from reservoirs to the river below dams is developed and has been implemented tentatively in several *** placed as replenishment can be flushed out and transported downstream by floodwater or dam *** flushed sediments are expected to contribute to the control of degradation and the variation of the low-flow ***,this technique is in the development stage because there are many unknown ***,systematic investigations are necessary for practical management of the *** this study,the effects of the location of replenishment sediment on sediment flushing and on control of degradation were investigated by means of flume experiments.A two-dimensional numerical model was also developed to further investigate the effects of sediment augmentation on river *** numerical model treats bank erosion and sediment transport over fixed beds. The simulation results were verified against the experimental *** flushing process of replenishment sediment was investigated first,and then its effect as a countermeasure for river bed degradation was *** are summarized as follows:(1) Augmentation at upper riffles is effective for flushing of replenishment sediment and variation of low-flow channel.(2) Amelioration of degradation can be found in the cases of two types of *** amelioration effect of upper riffle placement was larger than that of lower riffle placement(3) Aggradation rate of the bed near the replenishment site in the fixed bed is large in the lower riffle placement compared with the upper riffle placement.(4) The numerical model was found to be generally successful as a predictive tool.

The purpose of the paper was to assess the frequency of secondary transmissions of primary pneumonic plague relative to the onset of fever.A simple backcalculation method was employed to estimate the frequency of secondary transmissions relative to disease-age.A likelihood-based procedure was taken using observed distributions of the serial interval(n = 177) and incubation period(n = 126).Furthermore,an extended model was developed to account for the survival probability of *** simple backcalculation suggested that 31. 0%(95%confidence intervals(CI):11.6,50.4) and 28.0%(95%CI:10.2,45.8) of the total number of secondary transmissions had occurred at second and third days of the disease,respectively,and more than four-fifths of the secondary transmission occurred before the end of third day of *** survivorship-adjusted frequency of secondary transmissions was obtained,demonstrating that the infectiousness in later stages of illness was not insignificant and indicates that the obtained frequencies were likely biased on underlying factors including isolation *** conclusion,the simple exercise suggests a need to implement countermeasures during pre-clinical stage or immediately after *** information is needed to elucidate the finer details of the disease-age specific infectiousness.
