BACKGROUND Intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct(IPNB)rarely recurs in a multicentric *** encountered a patient with multiple recurrences of the gastric subtype of IPNB one year after spontaneous detachment of the primary tumor during peroral cholangioscopy(POCS).CASe SUMMARY A 68-year-old woman on maintenance hemodialysis because of lupus nephritis had several cardiovascular diseases and a pancreatic intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPMN).She was referred to our department for dilation of the common bile duct(CBD)and a tumor in the lumen,detected using *** had no complaints,and blood tests of hepatobiliary enzymes were *** resonance cholangiopancreatography(MRCP)showed a papillary tumor in the CBD with a filling defect detected using endoscopic retrograde cholangiography(eRC).Intraductal ultrasonography revealed a papillary tumor and stalk at the *** POCS,the tumor spontaneously detached with its stalk into the *** showed low-intermediate nuclear atypia of the gastric subtype of *** 1 year,follow-up MRCP showed multiple tumors distributed from the left hepatic duct to the *** and POCS showed multicentric *** was alive without hepatobiliary symptoms at least two years after initial diagnosis of *** The patient experienced gastric subtype of IPNB without curative *** may be reasonable for patients with this subtype.

Despite the similarity of ionic liquid and zwitterion, their some properties such as conductivity and hydrophobicity are different. Here we developed a novel phosphonium salt having a dynamic covalent bond between anion and cation, enabling reversible structural shift between free ion pair and zwitterion. With the phosphonium salt, control of the macroscopic phase behavior in aqueous solution, i.e. forming mono-or biphasic systems, upon exposure to an acid or base was reversibly achieved, based on the structural shift of the phosphonium salt. CO_2/N_2 bubbling reversibly changed the phase behavior as well as acid/base, leading to green separation systems.

Strigolactones （SLs） are a novel class of plant hormones and rhizosphere communication signals, although the molecular mechanisms underlying their activities have not yet been fully determined. Nor is their application in agriculture well developed. The importance of plant hormone agonists has been demonstrated in both basic and applied research, and chemicals that mimic strigolactone functions should greatly facilitate strigolactone research. Here, we report our discovery of a new phenoxyfuranone compound, 4-Br debranone （4BD）, that shows similar activity to that of the major strigolactone （SL） analog GR24 in many aspects of a biological assay on plants. 4BD strongly inhibited tiller bud outgrowth in the SL-deficient rice mutant d10 at the same concentration as GR24, with no adverse effects, even dur- ing prolonged cultivation. This result was also observed in the Arabidopsis thaliana SL-deficient mutants max1, max3, and max4. However, the application of 4BD to the Arabidopsis SL-insensitive mutant max2 induced no morphological changes in it. The expression of SL biosynthetic genes was also reduced by 4BD treatment, probably via negative feed- back regulation. However, in a seed germination assay on Striga hermonthica, a root parasitic plant, 4BD showed far less activity than GR24. These results suggest that 4BD is the first plant-specific strigolactone mimic.

Strigolactones(SLs)are plant hormones that regulate the branching of plants and seed germination stimulants of root parasitic *** root parasites are a great threat to agricultural production,the use of SL agonists could be anticipated to provide an efficient method for regulating root parasites as suicidal germination inducers.A series of phenoxyfuranone-type SL mimics,termed debranones,has been reported to show potent bioactivities,including reduction of the tiller number on rice,and stimulation of seed germination in the root parasite Striga *** exert both activities,two substituents on the phenyl ring of the molecules were important but at least a substituent at the 2-position must be an electron-withdrawing ***,little is known about the effect of the properties of the substituents at the 2-position on ***,we found that different substituents at the 2-position give different preferences for *** debranones were more effective than the others and SL agonist GR24 for inhibiting rice tiller but far less effective in the induction of *** ***,nitrile and methyl derivatives clearly stimulated the germination of *** *** their IC_(50) values were 100 times higher than that of GR24 in the receptor competitive binding assay,their physiological activities were approximately 1/10 of *** differences could be due to their uptake in plants and/or their physicochemical stability under our experimental *** findings could support the design of more potent and selective SL agonists that could contribute to solving big agricultural issues.

A multielectrolytic modified carbon electrode （MeMCe） was fabricated by the electrolytic-oxidation/reduction processes. First, the functional groups containing nitrogen atoms such as amino group were introduced by the electrode oxidation of carbon felt electrode in an ammonium carbamate aqueous solution, and next, this electrode was electroreduced in sulfuric acid. The redox waves between hydrogen ion and hydrogen molecule at highly positive potential range appeared in the cyclic voltammogram obtained by MeMCe. A coulometric cell using MeMCe with a catalytic activity of electrooxidation of hydrogen molecule was constructed and was used for the measurement of dissolved hydrogen. The typical current vs. time curve was obtained by the repetitive measurement of the dissolved hydrogen. These curves indicated that the measurement of dissolved hydrogen was finished completely in a very short time （ca. 10 sec）. A linear relationship was obtained between the electrical charge needed for the electrooxidation process of hydrogen molecule and dissolved hydrogen concentration. This indicates that the developed coulometric method can be used for the determination of the dissolved hydrogen concentration.

In many-light rendering, a variety of visual and illumination effects, including anti-aliasing,depth of field, volumetric scattering, and subsurface scattering, are combined to create a number of virtual point lights(VPLs). This is done in order to simplify computation of the resulting illumination. Naive approaches that sum the direct illumination from many VPLs are computationally expensive;scalable methods can be computed more efficiently by clustering VPLs, and then estimating their sum by sampling a small number of VPLs. Although significant speed-up has been achieved using scalable methods, clustering leads to uncontrollable errors, resulting in noise in the rendered images. In this paper, we propose a method to improve the estimation accuracy of manylight rendering involving such visual and illumination effects. We demonstrate that our method can improve the estimation accuracy by a factor of 2.3 over the previous method.
