Robust Iterative Learning Controller for the Non-zero Initial Error Problem on Robot Manipulator

Industrial robot system is a kind of dynamic system w ith strong nonlinear coupling and high position precision. A lot of control ways , such as nonlinear feedbackdecomposition motion and adaptive control and so o n, have been used to control this kind of system, but there are some deficiencie s in those methods: some need accurate and some need complicated operation and e tc. In recent years, in need of controlling the industrial robots, aiming at com pletely tracking the ideal input for the controlled subject with repetitive character, a new research area, ILC (iterative learning control), has been devel oped in the control technology and theory. The iterative learning control method can make the controlled subject operate as desired in a definite time span, merely making use of the prior control experie nce of the system and searching for the desired control signal according to the practical and desired output signal. The process of searching is equal to that o f learning, during which we only need to measure the output signal to amend the control signal, not like the adaptive control strategy, which on line assesses t he complex parameters of the system. Besides, since the iterative learning contr ol relies little on the prior message of the subject, it has been well used in a lot of areas, especially the dynamic systems with strong non-linear coupling a nd high repetitive position precision and the control system with batch producti on. Since robot manipulator has the above-mentioned character, ILC can be very well used in robot manipulator. In the ILC, since the operation always begins with a certain initial state, init ial condition has been required in almost all convergence verification. Therefor e, in designing the controller, the initial state has to be restricted with some condition to guarantee the convergence of the algorithm. Meta-analysis of dragon's blood resin extract as radio-protective agent

In health sciences, much efforts had been made in past years to explore the radio-protective agents from natural resources due to rapid exposure of radiations to environment such as space traveling, radiotherapy and largely growing telecommunication industry. It becomes crucial to find natural sources for radio-protection. In correspondence, dragon's blood (DB) is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant that possesses great medicinal values due to the presence of several phenolic compounds. For a long time, DB has been used in treatment of blood stasis, inflammation, oxidative stress, immune suppression and tumors, but recently it has been extensively used as radio-protective agent. There is no comprehensive review on radio-protective characterization of DB resin extract in literature. In our review, an attempt has been made to highlight unique and inherent radio-protection in liver, brain, kidney, lung, spleen and cerebrum. This review will help people in exploring the radioactive protectants from natural resources.

In this study, we report the microwave assisted synthesis of Phospholamban protein (WT-PLB) as a new gold standard in solid phase peptide synthesis. Microwave energy offers benefits for both the coupling and deprotection reactions during peptide synthesis. The use of microwave energy for both the coupling and deprotection steps makes the microwave peptide synthesizers the most versatile and powerful systems available. It produces high yield and fast synthesis when compared to conventional peptide synthesizers.

Extending the Economic Life of the Ogallala Aquifer with Water Conservation Policies in the Texas Panhandle

The continued decline in the availability of water from the Ogallala Aquifer in the Texas Panhandle has led to an increased interest in conservation policies designed to extend the life of the aquifer and sustain rural economies. Four counties were chosen for evaluation. This study evaluates the effectiveness of five policies in terms of changes in the saturated thickness, crop mix, water use per acre, and the net present value of farm profits over a 60-year planning horizon. The dynamic optimization models were developed using GAMS for the baseline as well as one for all five of the policy alternatives for each county. Results indicate that the policy scenarios of biotechnology adoption and a water use restriction will conserve the most water among the policies analyzed. In terms of economic returns, the biotechnology adoption policy by far provides the greatest benefit to producers due to yield increases that are estimated with current annual growth rates in new seed varieties. The water use restriction policy, on the other hand, has the lowest net present value of returns, indicating that conservation is accompanied with significant costs to producers. The irrigation adoption technology scenario is the next best policy in terms of net present value of returns (following biotechnology);however, it ranks last in terms of reducing aquifer depletion. It is important to note that while the models do not perfectly predict the factors being evaluated, it is the basis for comparison between the policy scenarios which are important. These comparisons will aid policy makers in determining the most effective strategy to conserve water while simultaneously considering the economic costs to producers. In addition, the results of this study can be applied to other areas facing similar conditions, either currently or in the future, throughout the Texas Panhandle.

The Bakerwal breed of goat in Kashmir valley is a good meat purpose breed of goat. That attains an appreciable body weight under a low input production system. As these goats are mainly reared by Gujjar and Bakarwal tribes of the J & K state, so they usually are fed with the weeds, herbs, shrubs and grasses of pastures that will otherwise go waste. These goats constitute the main livestock wealth. With the good productive and reproductive potential, it makes these animals an important animal protein source for developing countries like India. The myostatin gene (GDF8) is important in the physiology of stock animals because its product produces a direct effect on muscle development and consequently also on meat production. The myostatin sequence is known in several mammalian species and shows a high degree of amino acid sequence conservation, although several alterations in the intron and exon regions have been identified. The objective of our work is to characterize the myostatin coding regions using gene sequencing and polymerase chain reaction methods of Capra hircus (Bakerwal breed) and to compare them with the Ovis aries and other livestock species of animal, looking for variations in nucleotide and protein sequences. As mutations in the myostatin gene can inactivate its expression and result in a non-functional protein, which leads to increase in muscle growth in many species. In this way, we are able to identify 3 alterations on the presumed myostatin protein sequence as compared to non double-muscled ovine sequences.

Directly Generating the NC Machining Program from AutoCAD Graph

One kind of auto-programming method directly gener at ing the NC machining program by AutoCAD graph is discussed in this article. Firs tly, the article discusses the open type graphic interface of AutoCAD. Then the graphic export among the AutoCAD, the adding of process information and the data storage, as well as technology of generating NC program has been introduced . Finally, a NC auto-programming system GAPS based on AutoCAD graph is develope d. The tendency of auto-programming is graphic auto-programming, because it posse sses these merits that the programming in the system is simple and the graph is perceived easily and the graphic data can be shared in many auto-programming sy stems. It is well known that AutoCAD is widely used graphic software in machiner y at present. The AutoCAD plotting function is more powerful than other special drawing-software in auto-programming system, and has provided the convenient o pen data interface for development of software. The AutoCAD has several kinds of open data graphic interfaces, and these interfaces are general among different versions. Chiefly, there are ASCII’s graphic exchange file (.dxf ) and the bina ry system graphic exchange file (.dxb ) in AutoCAD. We discuss the second fi le format right off here. The technology generating the NC machining program from AutoCAD graph is accompl ished by four relatively independent modules. In the auto-programming, NC progr am designer firstly carries on technology analysis to the part-drawing to estab lish the drawing scheme for auto-programming, later draws out the detail diagra m based on the analyzed in AutoCAD system. The graphic data is converted to the recognizable data structure in the system by the graphic data conversion module in the auto-programming system. Then the new data is joined process information at the process control module of system, and forms the cutter-orbit data. The cutter-orbit can generate the NC program as a result of the handle of the post -proc

In Vitro Study of Callogenesis and Regeneration Potential of Elite Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Cultivars

The potential for biotechnological applications in crop improvement programs requires identifying genotypes that allow cell/tissue culture with predictable plant regeneration. In the past, many genotypes of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) have been examined for potential use in tissue culture studies. The present research work has also been designed to study in vitro callogenesis expression and regeneration potential of wheat cultivars under controlled laboratory conditions. Seeds of four elite commercial high yielding cultivars of wheat namely: NARC-2011, AAS-2011, PAK-2013 and GAL-2013, were collected from the Crop Science Institute National Agricultural Research Center (CSI-NARC) Islamabad, as the source of plant material for in vitro studies. The seeds were surface sterilized in 10% sodium hypochlorite solutions for 10 minutes with continuous shaking under laminar air flow hood. After that seeds were placed on MS (Murashige & Skoog, 1962) based callus induction and regeneration medium with various concentrations of 2, 4-D and BAP in separate test tubes. Maximum callus induction frequency of 90% for Pak-13 and AAS-11, followed by 87% and 83% for Gla-13 and NARC-11, respectively, was recorded at 4 mg/l and 6 mg/l of 2, 4-D. Similarly, maximum regeneration of 90% for AAS-11 and Pak-13, followed by 80% and 87% for NARC-11 and Gla-13 respectively, was recorded on MS basal medium containing 1.5 mg/l of BAP. An increasing trend in regeneration from 0.5 to 1.5 mg/l of BAP was observed but it gradually decreased with increasing concentration of BAP from 1.5 mg/l for all wheat cultivars. The callus formed under light was golden brown, dry nodule and smooth compact and less embryogenic while under dark conditions, it was white to yellowish white, dry nodule and compact and more embryogenic. Best results for callus induction and regeneration were obtained at temperature (24°C ± 1°C) for all wheat cultivars.

Contribution of soil and foliar fertilization of nitrogen and sulfur on physiological and quality assessment of wheat (<i>Triticum aestivum</i>L.)

Nitrogen and sulfur supplies have a strong influence on the physical characteristics of crop as well as on the quality and quantity of wheat storage proteins, which play an important role in bread-making process. In order to evaluate the contribution of soil and foliar fertilization of nitrogen and sulfur on physiological and quality assessment of wheat, a field trail was carried out having randomized complete block design with four replications and eight different treatments of nitrogen and sulfur combinations were allotted to plots at different growth stages. Results indicated that highest protein content (12.82%), maximum moisture content (10.9%), maximum crop growth rate and maximum absolute growth rate were recorded when the wheat crop was fertilized with T8 [Nitrogen @ 60 kg·ha-1 at sowing + 40 kg·ha-1 at tillering + 10 kg·ha-1 at anthesis (spray) + 10 kg·ha-1 after anthesis (spray)] + [Sulfur @ 15 kg·ha-1 at sowing + 10 kg·ha-1 at anthesis (spray) + 5 kg·ha-1 after anthesis (spray)], while control practice resulted low moisture content, low protein, minimum crop growth rate and low absolute growth rate. Among physiological components of wheat cultivars, leaf area index was enhanced when fertilization was done with T5 (Sulfur @ 15 kg·ha-1 at sowing + 10 kg·ha-1 at anthesis + 5 kg·ha-1 after anthesis). In all the recorded observations,concerning experiment wheat cultivar Pirsabaq2005 showed appreciable response as compared with other variety (Khyber-87). Thus it is possible to obtain maximum physiological traits as well as bread-making quality of wheat through soil and foliar application of nitrogen and sulfur.
