Evaluation of Rainfall Tendency for the Twentieth Century over Indira Sagar Region in Central India

The study investigates long-term changes in annual and seasonal rainfall patterns in the Indira Sagar Region of Madhya Pradesh, India, from 1901 to 2010. Agriculture sustainability, food supply, natural resource development, and hydropower system reliability in the region rely heavily on monsoon rainfall. Monthly rainfall data from three stations (East Nimar, Barwani, and West Nimar) were analyzed. Initially, the pre-whitening method was applied to eliminate serial correlation effects from the rainfall data series. Subsequently, statistical trends in annual and seasonal rainfall were assessed using both parametric (student-t test) and non-parametric tests [Mann-Kendall, Sen’s slope estimator, and Cumulative Sum (CUSUM)]. The magnitude of the rainfall trend was determined using Theil-Sen’s slope estimator. Spatial analysis of the Mann-Kendall test on an annual basis revealed a statistically insignificant decreasing trend for Barwani and East Nimar and an increasing trend for West Nimar. On a seasonal basis, the monsoon season contributes a significant percentage (88.33%) to the total annual rainfall. The CUSUM test results indicated a shift change detection in annual rainfall data for Barwani in 1997, while shifts were observed in West and East Nimar stations in 1929. These findings offer valuable insights into regional rainfall behavior, aiding in the planning and management of water resources and ecological systems.

Dengue virus infection is endemic in India with seasonal variations.It can lead to lethal consequences with plasma leakage and/or bleeding[1,2].Dengue shock syndrome has high mortality in developing countries like India.Dengue can cause functional proteinuria and even heavy proteinuria[3-6].Though dengue has been implicated to cause glomerulonephritis[7],to the best of our knowledge,dengue as a cause of relapse of minimal change disease(MCD)has not been reported.

PAPR Reduction of NOMA Using Vandermonde Matrix-Particle Transmission Sequence

Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)is an ideal choice for 5G waveforms due to their characteristics such as high data rate,massive device connectivity,high spectral access,and effective frequency selective fading.Thus,it permits gigantic connectivity.The spectrum overlaps with NOMA,which consents several operators to segment the spectrum at the same frequency.These features make NOMA more suitable for use beyond 5G.Peak to Average Power(PAPR)is a major problem in Multi-Carrier Techniques(MCT)like NOMA and it also degrades the performance of the amplifier.The Partial Transmission Sequence(PTS)is a superior algorithm for moderating the PAPR.However,it also increases the complexity of the structure.The PAPR is reduced in NOMA by multiplying the NOMA signal with optimised phase vectors(P).The phase vectors are generated by using the Vandermonde Matrix(VM).In this work,we proposed a VM-PTS algorithm for the NOMA system,and the number of computations to search the optimal phase vectors for NOMA high PAPR signal is less as compared with existing PTS.The outcomes demonstrate that the performance of the recommended PTS in terms of PAPR,Bit Error Rate(BER),and complexity is better than the conventional PTS(C-PTS).

Data-driven modeling of power generation for a coal power plant under cycling

Increased penetration of renewables for power generation has negatively impacted the dynamics of conventional fossil fuel-based power plants.The power plants operating on the base load are forced to cycle,to adjust to the fluctuating power demands.This results in an inefficient operation of the coal power plants,which leads up to higher operating losses.To overcome such operational challenge associated with cycling and to develop an optimal process control,this work analyzes a set of models for predicting power generation.Moreover,the power generation is intrinsically affected by the state of the power plant components,and therefore our model development also incorporates additional power plant process variables while forecasting the power generation.We present and compare multiple state-of-the-art forecasting data-driven methods for power generation to determine the most adequate and accurate model.We also develop an interpretable attention-based transformer model to explain the importance of process variables during training and forecasting.The trained deep neural network(DNN)LSTM model has good accuracy in predicting gross power generation under various prediction horizons with/without cycling events and outperforms the other models for long-term forecasting.The DNN memory-based models show significant superiority over other state-of-the-art machine learning models for short,medium and long range predictions.The transformer-based model with attention enhances the selection of historical data for multi-horizon forecasting,and also allows to interpret the significance of internal power plant components on the power generation.This newly gained insights can be used by operation engineers to anticipate and monitor the health of power plant equipment during high cycling periods.

Spectrum sensing is one of the major concerns in reaching an efficientQuality of service (QOS) in the advanced mobile communication system. Theadvanced engineering sciences such as 5G, device 2 device communications(D2D), Internet of things (IoT), MIMO require a large spectrum for better service.Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is not a choice in advancedradio due to the Cyclic Prefix (CP), wastage of the spectrum, and so on. Hence, itis important to explore the spectral efficient advanced waveform techniques andcombine a cognitive radio (CR) with the 5G waveform to sense the idle spectrum,which overcomes the spectrum issue. The demand for spectrum is ever increasing;however, spectrum is limited and is an acutely scarce resource. To alleviate theissue, techniques like Cognitive Radios (CR) have been devised. However, suchtechniques are non-standardized, and many variations of CR algorithms have beentried and tested. This paper details the several spectrum sensing methods tailoredfor CR. We explain the benefits, uniqueness, and drawbacks of the various techniques to provide a comprehensive review of the scene, including all recent andnovel techniques of CR. Finally, we provided experimental results for the performance of the CR for key 5G and beyond modulation techniques to elaborate thedependency of the CR techniques for CR applications and provide a competitivereview of their performance. Experiments show that the CR integrated withNOMA shows better performance as compared with existing techniques.

The variations in climatic factors can lead to morphological changes like male sterility,self-incompatibility,embryo abortions,poor seed setting,low nutrient content,growth retardation,yield loss and even crop failure of agricultural or horticultural crops under open land ecosystem.The traditional agricultural systems involve using a large quantity of water on a large arable land,along with a lot of agro chemicals,which can lead to leaching of nutrients and chemical residues into the soil and water bodies,insect competition,weed emergence,or soil erosion.The controlled environment plant growth chamber reserves 80%land use,90%water use and runs off or translocates nutrients more efficiently than traditional agriculture.The controlled environment plant growth chamber utilizes standard nutrient diffusion for plant growth and regulates stable nutrient use efficiency,water use efficiency,photosynthetic assimilation product,metabolic use efficiency,climatic factors,greenhouse gases emission,carbon sequestration,carbon foot print with the mechanistic model with machine learning examines critical or non critical levels,dynamics and influences of water,climate and nutrient in controlled environment system.The controlled environment plant growth chamber enables production of outstanding physical and chemical quality enriched plants.The controlled environment witnesses the combat against climate change and the restoration or conservation of natural resources,as well as the generation of research,employment,and industrial development.More comparative investigations are required to understand and justify climate combating with major plants in controlled environment ecosystem and natural environment ecosystem with or without soil.

Multi and single carrier waveforms are utilized in cellular systems for high-speed data transmission.In The Fifth Generation(5G)system,several waveform techniques based on multi carrier waveforms are proposed.However,the Peak to Average Power Ratio(PAPR)is seen as one of the significant concerns in advanced waveforms as it degrades the efficiency of the framework.The proposed article documents the study,progress,and implementation of PAPR reduction algorithms for the 5G radio framework.We compare the PAPR algorithm performance for advanced and conventional waveforms.The simulation results reveal that the advanced Partial Transmission Sequence(PTS)and Selective Mapping(SLM)methods enhanced the throughput and gain of the 5G waveforms.Furthermore,we have also analyzed the performance of Orthogonal Time Frequency Space Modulation(OTFSM)based on a single carrier system and found that PAPR is significantly low and is best suited to fading environments.It is seen that the conventional algorithms lower the PAPR but increase the complexity.The proposed PTS and SLM have shown good performance with low computational complexity.

Turbulence characteristics of flow past submerged vanes

Submerged vanes are hydrofoils utilized to manage the sediment transport through the river by generating the turbulence in the flow in the form of helical currents.The vanes are placed in the flow with respect to its direction at angle of 10°to 40°.In the current study,an attempt has been made to study the effect of the introduction of vanes in form of rows on parameters like turbulence intensities,Reynolds stresses,turbulent kinetic energy,anisotropy index,and the velocity profile of the flow.It is observed that the profile of variation of turbulence intensities,turbulent kinetic energy,vertical Reynolds stress and velocity over three different marked verticals on a transect are nearly identical whereas a large scatter is observed in the variation of transverse Reynolds stress over the vertical of the aforementioned vertical locations.This observation suggests that flow turbulence is homogeneous over the vertical while scattering in the variation of the transverse Reynolds stress component may be attributed to the presence of secondary currents in the flow.After introducing rows of submerged vanes,the bed turbulence is reduced,hence,helping reduce many scour related phenomenon.It is also observed that a vortex occurred at 0.85 times the height of the vane and the variation of turbulence quantities in the presence of vanes shows the existence of a peak in these quantities.It is observed that as flow moves away from the vane rows,due to the interaction of vortices and the action of vorticity,vortices dampens down and the flow regains homogeneity.After the introduction of submerged vane rows,bed shear stress reduces as fluid from the surface replaces the slow-moving fluid near the bed due to the secondary currents generated by the vanes leading to reduction in the magnitude of turbulence intensities,Reynolds stresses,and turbulent kinetic energy near the bed.The anisotropy index is observed to increase near the bed as induced secondary currents enhanced the turbulence production in the near bed region.All the profi

Massive-Multiple Inputs and Multiple Outputs(M-MIMO)is considered as one of the standard techniques in improving the performance of Fifth Generation(5G)radio.5G signal detection with low propagation delay and high throughput with minimum computational intricacy are some of the serious concerns in the deployment of 5G.The evaluation of 5G promises a high quality of service(QoS),a high data rate,low latency,and spectral efficiency,ensuring several applications that will improve the services in every sector.The existing detection techniques cannot be utilised in 5G and beyond 5G due to the high complexity issues in their implementation.In the proposed article,the Approximation Message Passing(AMP)is implemented and compared with the existing Minimum Mean Square Error(MMSE)and Message Passing Detector(MPD)algorithms.The outcomes of the work show that the performance of Bit Error Rate(BER)is improved with minimal complexity.

Multicarrier Waveform(MCW)has several advantages and plays a very important role in cellular systems.Fifth generation(5G)MCW such as Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)and Filter Bank Multicarrier(FBMC)are thought to be important in 5G implementation.High Peak to Average Power Ratio(PAPR)is seen as a serious concern in MCW since it reduces the efficiency of amplifier use in the user devices.The paper presents a novel Divergence Selective Mapping(DSLM)and Divergence Partial Transmission Sequence(D-PTS)for 5G waveforms.It is seen that the proposed D-SLM and PTS lower PAPR with low computational complexity.The work highlighted a combination of multi-data block partial transmit schemes along with tone reservation.In this,an overlapping factor is used to determine the number of data blocks for every group.Here,considering only those data blocks that have minimum signal power,the use of DSLM and DPTS are required to eliminate the segment’s peaks.Simulation results reveal that the suggested hybrid technique proves to be better than the conventional PTS scheme.Furthermore,the power saving performance of FBMC and NOMA is compared with the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)waveform.
