Adaptive sensitive frequency band selection for VMD to identify defective components of an axial piston pump

The underlying study investigates single valued neutrosophic entropy based adaptive sensitive frequency band selection for variational mode decomposition(VMD)for the purpose of identifying defective components in an axial *** proposed methodology is applied in the following ***,VMD is applied for decomposing vibration signals into various frequency bands,called as *** computing energy of each VMD,the lower(minimum)and upper(maximum)bounds from these energy readings are extracted for defect conditions,such as outer race,inner race,worn piston,faulty cylinder and valve plate,and blocked hole of the ***,energy interval ranges are obtained and further converted into the form of single valued neutrosophic sets(SVNSs).Then,the proposed neutrosophic entropy measure is deployed for quantifying the non-linear connection between each bearing defect conditions and various frequency *** mode having maximum neutrosophic entropy value is designated to the“most sensitive”frequency ***,envelope demodulation is applied to the most sensitive selected frequency band for finding defective *** proposed neutrosophic entropy and VMD based methodology is effective in providing a better insight for selecting suitable frequency band for carrying out envelope demodulation in comparison to existing methods.

A 2DEG charge density based drain current model for various Al and In molefraction mobility dependent nano-scale AlInGaN/AlN/GaN HEMT devices

We present a two-dimensional electron gas （2DEG） charge-control mobility variation based drain cur- rent model for sheet carrier density in the channel. The model was developed for the AIInGaN/A1N/GaN high- electron-mobility transistor. The sheet carrier density model used here accounts for the independence between the Fermi levels Ef and ns along with mobility for various AI and In molefractions. This physics based ns model fully depends upon the variation of El, u0, the first subband E0, the second subband El, and as. We present a physics based analytical drain current model using ns with the minimum set of parameters. The analytical resuks obtained are compared with the experimental results for four samples with various molefraction and barrier thickness. A good agreement between the results is obtained, thus validating the model.

Today, designers are forced to reduce performance and increase power requirements in order to reserve larger margins that are required due to the greater variability introduced by smaller feature sizes and manufacturing variations of modern IC designs. The better-than-worst-case design can both address the variability problem and achieve higher performance/energy efficiency than the worst-case design. This paper surveys the progress to date, provides a snapshot of the most representative methods in this field, and discusses the future research directions of the better-than-worst-case design.

Spatio-temporal variation of trace elements distributed over surface water of upper Ganga River Basin in Western Himalayan Region

The rivers draining from the Himalayan range distribute enormous amount of fresh water to the people living in downstream *** metals flowed with river water can lead to serious impact on ecological system and human ***,the documentation on trace elements of Himalayan rivers is inadequately *** current study deals with the spatial and temporal variability of the major and trace elements of Ganga river water in epirhithron,metarhithron and hyporhithron zone belonging to Himalayan *** samples from nineteen monitoring locations were collected in pre-monsoon(May-June),monsoon(AugustSeptember)and post-monsoon(December)seasons and subjected to be assessed for 20 elements(Ag,Al,Ba,Cd,Ca,Cr,Cu,Fe,Ga,K,Mn,Mg,Na,Ni,Pb,Sr,Th,u,Zn,and Zr)using ICP-OES(Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometer).Different water pollution indexes such as HPI(Heavy Metal Pollution Index),MI(Metal Index)and PI(Pollution Index)were used to describe current water quality status at each monitoring station under particular classified ecological *** studied stations in hyporhithron zone had the value of Metal Index(MI>1),indicating threshold of ***,the highest values of HPI in hyporhithron zone correspond to poor water quality *** with poor water quality were also found to be contaminated as per the Pollution Index(PI),exhibiting high concentrations for element(Fe).However,the epirhithron and metarhithron zone in Himalayan segment showed excellent water quality mainly contributed from natural *** Analysis(CA)and Principal Component Analysis(PCA)were applied to identify the main influential sources for Ganga river water *** Kriging interpolation method was also applied to prepare spatial distribution map of computed indexes(HPI,MI,and PI).With the help of index of local Moran’s I(LMI),identified spatial clusters and spatial outliers revealed the elevated concentration of most elements in hyporhithr

The room temperature mechanical properties and high temperature creep behavior of AZ91 alloy reinforced with SiC_(p) synthesized via stir casting have been *** mechanical properties showed improvement with respect to the amount of reinforcement *** creep testing of the composites carried out at a temperature of 175 ℃ under constant stress of 80,100 and 120 MPa reveals different creep characteristics depending upon the reinforcement content and the applied *** true stress exponents of different composites calculated from minimum creep rate indicate the possible mechanisms of creep deformation.

Calcium sulfoaluminate cement(CSAC),first developed in China in the 1970 s,has received significant attention because of its expansive(or shrinkage-compensating)and rapid-hardening characteristics,low energy-intensity,and low carbon *** production and hydration of CSAC(containing ye’elimite,belite,calcium sulfate,and minors)have been extensively studied,but aspects of its durability are not well *** to its composition and intrinsic characteristics,CSAC concrete is expected to have better performance than Portland cement(PC)concrete in several aspects,including shrinkage and cracking due to restrained shrinkage,freeze-thaw damage,alkali-silica reaction,and sulfate ***,there is a lack of consensus among researchers regarding transport properties,resistance to carbonation,and steel corrosion protectiveness of CSAC concrete,all of which are expected to be tied to the chemical composition of CSAC and attributes of the service *** example,CASC concrete has poorer resistance to carbonation and chloride penetration compared with its PC counterpart,yet some studies have suggested that it protects steel rebar well from corrosion when exposed to a marine tidal zone,because of a strong self-desiccation *** paper presents a succinct review of studies of the durability of CSAC *** suggest that more such studies should be conducted to examine the long-term performance of the material in different service *** emphasis should be given to carbonation and steel rebar corrosion,so as to reveal the underlying deterioration mechanisms and establish means to improve the performance of CSAC concrete against such degradation processes.

Thermal performance and comfort assessment of u-shape and helical shape earth-air heat exchanger in India

Earth Air Tunnel Heat Exchanger(EATHE)systems are not so much popular in India because of restricted acces-sibility of ground space in majority of residential and commercial *** the present article,thermal perfor-mance of newly designed helical shaped EATHE system has been compared with conventional u-shaped EATHE system by keeping similar geometrical and operational configuration for the summer(April-June)and winter(December-February),*** this regard,therefore,numerical model of both EATHE systems have been designed and experimentally *** thermal performance of both EATHE systems has been compared in terms of outlet air temperature and *** present numerical study suggested that the newly designed helical EATHE system exhibits better thermal performance with lower ground requirement as compared to con-ventional u-shaped EATHE *** evaluate the thermal comfort potential of EATHE system in office buildings of India,composite climate specific adaptive thermal comfort boundaries has been *** detailed thermal performance behaviour of the EATHE system suggests that an additional 80%of the time;ambient air condi-tions became thermally comfortable during peak summer *** addition,analysis of the results revealed that EATHE system has more potential during heating operation mode to maintain indoor comfort in winter season of composite climate in India.

Adaptive sampling for generalized probabilistic roadmaps

In this paper, an adaptive sampling strategy is presented for the generalized sampling-based motion plan- ner, generalized probabilistic roadmap （GPRM）. These planners are designed to account for stochastic map and model uncertainty and provide a feedback solution to the motion planning problem. Intelligently sampling in this framework can result in large speedups when compared to naive uniform sampling. By using the information of transition probabilities, encoded in these generalized planners, the proposed strategy biases sampling to improve the efficiency of sampling, and increase the overall success probability of GPRM. The strategy is used to solve the motion planning problem of a fully actuated point robot and a 3-DOF fixed-base manipulator on several maps of varying difficulty levels, and results show that the strategy helps solve the problem efficiently, while simultaneously increasing the success probability of the solution. Results also indicate that these rewards increase with an increase in map complexity.
