Gamification has been applied in software engineering to improve quality and results by increasing people’s motivation and engagement.A systematic mapping has identified research gaps in the field,one of them being the difficulty of creating an integrated gamified environment comprising all the tools of an organization,since most existing gamified tools are custom developments or *** this paper,we propose a gamification software architecture that allows us to transform the work environment of a software organization into an integrated gamified environment,i.e.,the organization can maintain its tools,and the rewards obtained by the users for their actions in different tools will mount *** developed a gamification engine based on our proposal,and we carried out a case study in which we applied it in a real software development *** case study shows that the gamification engine has allowed the company to create a gamified workplace by integrating custom-developed tools and off-the-shelf tools such as Redmine,TestLink,or JUnit,with the gamification *** main advantages can be highlighted:(i)our solution allows the organization to maintain its current tools,and(ii)the rewards for actions in any tool accumulate in a centralized gamified environment.

This paper presents a simple Josephson-junction circuit with two parameters (inductance and capacitance) which can be tuned to represent different energy landscapes with different physical properties. By tuning this quantum circuit through external accessible elements we can move from two to three and more energy levels depending on the parameter setting. The inductance, the capacitance as well as the external voltage (driving terms) condition the number of relevant energy levels as well as the model to be used. We show that the quantized circuit represents a multi-state system with tunneling induced by the Landau-Zener and Landau-Zener-Stückelberg transition. The special cases of single crossing and multi-crossing models are thoroughly studied and the transition probability is obtained in each case. It is proven that, the crossing time as well as the relaxation time affect drastically the transition probability;the system mimics a single passage for short relaxation and a multiple passage problem for large relaxation. The nonlinearity of energy levels modifies the transition probability and the derived adiabatic parameters help to redefine the Landau-Zener probability. The observed constructive and destructive interferences are parametrically conditioned by the initial condition set by the inductive branch. Moreover, the total population transfers as well as the complete blockage of the system are obtained in a permissible range of parameters only by changing the values of the inductance. Therefore, the system models a controllable level-crossing where the additional branches (inductive and capacitive) help in designing the number of states, the type of interferometry as well as the control of states occupation.

Giant Magnetoimpedance Effect in Surface Modified CoFeMoSiB Amorphous Ribbons

Thin magnetic Fe layers in thickness of 10–240nm were deposited onto a wheel surface of CoFeMoSiB amorphous ribbons to check our concept of a new type of heterogeneous magnetoimpedance materials formed by two different magnetic parts. The presence of an additional iron layer modifies the magnetoimpedance response of the composite material and leads to increase of the magnetoimpedance ratio from 330 to 345% at a frequency of 3.5MHz. Two possible mechanisms are discussed for explanation to the observed behaviour. Modification of the surface properties of the amorphous ribbons may have certain potential for technological applications.

Following a period of significant development at the end of the 1990s, with economic growth rates greater than those of the European Union, the Portuguese economy stagnated in 2002 and even declined in 2003. The current context of international crisis has just interrupted the fragile growth trend initiated in 2004： In fact, real GDP, which increased by 1.9 percent in 2007, had a growth rate of zero in 2008 and declined by 2.9 percent in 2009. The crisis has abruptly increased the closure of companies and unemployment jumped from 7.3% in the second haft of 2008 to 10.1% in the forth quarter of 2009. Notwithstanding, social dialog was resilient to this situation of economic crisis, as shown by the number of collective agreements negotiated by the social partners, the number of workers covered by collective agreements and the observed increase in real wages. Additionally, social partners have agreed on a reform of the Labour Code. Are this data enough evidence of social concentration on crisis management？ This paper will analyze this issue, giving particular attention to collective bargaining in Portugal and the crisis impact on the industrial relations system and their actors

Despite the exceptional species richness and endemism,the environmental drivers of plant diversity along old tropical mountains remain *** respective importance of vegetation types,elevation,slope,and soil to drive diversity across life-forms is poorly ***,we tested whether environmental variables drove local and regional plant diversity along an old tropical mountain according to the three main life-forms:graminoids,herbaceous and woody *** sampled all Angiosperm species on 180 plots across five elevations,at the tropical old-mountain region of Serra do Cipó,South-eastern *** assessed soil,slope,and vegetation types,and calculated richness and beta-diversity,applying generalized least square models,linear mixed-models and partial Mantel tests to test for *** of graminoids and herbaceous species increased with greater elevation and more nutrient-impoverished soils,while woody richness showed the inverse ***-diversity was primarily driven by species turnover,correlated with elevation and soil and higher in less dominant vegetation types,with unique *** the limited elevational range in these old mountains,it still played an important role in filtering woody species,while fostering graminoid and herbaceous *** and restoration actions need to foster the high regional diversity supported by the old mountain heterogeneous landscape and the diversity of life-forms,especially the dominant and highly diverse grassy component.

Effects of Slight Plastic Deformation on Magnetic Properties and Giant Magnetoimpedance of FeCoCrSiB Amorphous Ribbons

Slight plastic deformation of 0 to 1% by cold rolling is proposed as a treatment which may modify the responses of magnetoimpedance （MI） sensor with an amorphous ribbon used as a sensitive element. The dependence of the magnetic properties of melt spun Fe3Co67Cr3Si15B12 amorphous ribbons and their MI responses in the initial state and after slight plastic deformation on the value of the deformation were comparatively analysed. The shape of the hysteresis loops shows a clear correlation with the value of the deformation. The variations of the total impedance, the real and the imaginary components, are measured for the current intensity of 1.S mA for the frequency of lO MHz. Slight plastic deformation affects both real and imaginary components and allows a control of the shape of the MI curves in a small field in a range usually used in biomedical applications. The proposed deformation treatments can be useful for the construction of the MI sensitive elements with a new type of the responses.

Giant magnetoimpedance effect (GMI) is a subject of special interest proved by applied electrodynamic and technological applications. GMI effect in ferromagnetic tubes is connected with the high sensitivity of the magnetic system to a circular magnetic field near the spin-reorientation magnetic phase transitions offering high sensitivity with respect to an external magnetic field. In this work the non-magnetic CuBe wires were covered by Fe20Co6Ni74 layers by electrodeposition. The thickness of 1 μm for magnetic layer was high enough in order to ensure the high GMI value. Longitudinal magnetic anisotropy was induced by post preparation annealing in a magnetic field of 160 A/m at 320℃ during 1 hour in order to obtain appropriate magnetisation process. Angular dependencies of GMI were measured in a frequency range of 1 to 10 MHz for driving currents of 2.5 to 20 mA. High longitudinal GMI of the order of 400% was observed at quite low frequency of 1 MHz. The highest value of the sensitivity of 520%/Oe was found for the active resistance: Linear sensitivities of 0.023 Ω/° and 0.05 Ω/° were observed for reasonably low fields of 240 and275 A/m respectively for small angles, where planar GMI elements are less effective.

Application of Ground Source Heat Pump to a Supermarket in Portugal

The objective of the present paper is to describe a technical and economical visibility study of the application of ground source heat pumps （GSHP） in a supermarket in Portugal. The study was developed under the European project ＂Integration of Geothermal Energy Into Industrial Application - IGEIA＂, project number EIE 06/001, supported by the Intelligent Energy for Europe, IEE, of EACI, European Commission. In general for supermarkets installed in single buildings, the building envelope has higher rates of envelope areas per indoor air volume. In Portugal this fact produces high need of heating during the winter season and high cooling needs during the summer season. Inside the building there are strong internal heat loads produced by high densities of lights and equipments. However these internal loads are not distributed uniformly. There are some areas with high production of heat but there are others with production of cooling. Therefore the acclimatization of this kind of buildings is not so easy and the balance of heating and cooling needs is depending of different parameters which should be well evaluated. The energy consummation of the cold display cases and deep freezers in market area and storage is also very high. The different energy needs could be studied in an integrated way and could be partially satisfied by geothermal energy using ground source heat pumps. At the same time the boreholes could be used as an energy reservoir increasing the efficiency of whole system. Four different climatic zones in Portugal were selected, （north coast, interior north, south coast and interior south） using the same system. The results of the study show that the all energy needs can by partially satisfied by geothermal energy but they need to be integrated to increase the global efficiency. The paper shows that the geothermal energy can be an attractive application for the supermarkets in Portugal if the energy solution is studied in an integrated way and if it is also
