Confirming stereochemical structures of strigolactones Produced by Rice and Tobacco

Major strigolactones （sLs） produced by rice （Oryza sativa L. cv. Nipponbare） and tobacco （Nicotiana tabacum L. cv. Michinoku No. 1） were purified and their stereochemical structures were determined by comparing with optically pure synthetic standards for their NMR and CD data and retention times and mass fragmentations in EsI-LC/Ms and GC-Ms. sLs purified from root exudates of rice plants were orobanchol, orobanchyl acetate, and ent-2＂-epi-5-deoxystr- igol. In addition to these sLs, 7-oxoorobanchyl acetate and the putative three methoxy-5~deoxystrigol isomers were detected by LC-Ms/Ms. The production of 7-oxoorobanchyl acetate seemed to occur in the early growth stage, as it was detected only in the root exudates collected during the first week of incubation. The root exudates of tobacco contained at least 11 sLs, including solanacol, solanacyl acetate, orobanchol, ent-2＂-epi-orobanchol, orobanchyl acetate, ent-2＇- epi-orobanchyl acetate, 5-deoxystrigol, ent-2＂-epi-5-deoxystrigol, and three isomers of putative didehydro-orobanchol whose structures remain to be clarified. Furthermore, two sorgolactone isomers but not sorgolactone were detected as minor sLs by LC-Ms/Ms analysis. It is intriguing to note that rice plants produced only orobanchol-type sLs, derived from ent-2＂-epi-5-deoxystrigol, but both orobanchol-type and strigol-type sLs, derived from 5-deoxystrigol were detected in tobacco plants.

Robust camera pose estimation by viewpoint classification using deep learning

Camera pose estimation with respect to target scenes is an important technology for superimposing virtual information in augmented reality(AR). However, it is difficult to estimate the camera pose for all possible view angles because feature descriptors such as sIFT are not completely invariant from every perspective. We propose a novel method of robust camera pose estimation using multiple feature descriptor databases generated for each partitioned viewpoint, in which the feature descriptor of each keypoint is almost invariant. Our method estimates the viewpoint class for each input image using deep learning based on a set of training images prepared for each viewpoint class. We give two ways to prepare these images for deep learning and generating databases. In the first method, images are generated using a projection matrix to ensure robust learning in a range of environments with changing *** second method uses real images to learn a given environment around a planar pattern. Our evaluation results confirm that our approach increases the number of correct matches and the accuracy of camera pose estimation compared to the conventional method.

Long-term climate changes related with urbanization in Tokyo, Japan, and recent temperature and heavy rainfall distribution in the Tokyo metropolitan area are reviewed. A relatively high temperature increase in annual mean temperature at the rate of 3.0°C/century was detected in Tokyo for the period 1901–2015. some observational evidence showed the existence of both thermal and mechanical effects of urbanization on recent heavy rainfall occurrences, and modeling studies also support precipitation enhancement. Urban influences were recognized in other climatological elements, such as number of fog days, relative humidity, and wind circulation.

Diminishing the appearance of a fence in an image is a challenging research area due to the characteristics of fences(thinness, lack of texture, etc.) and the need for occluded background restoration. In this paper, we describe a fence removal method for an image sequence captured by a user making a sweep motion, in which occluded background is potentially observed. To make use of geometric and appearance information such as consecutive images, we use two well-known approaches: structure from motion and light field rendering. Results using real image sequences show that our method can stably segment fences and preserve background details for various fence and background combinations. A new video without the fence, with frame coherence, can be successfully provided.

Recently, substantial attention has been paid to the strain sensitivity of the carbon nanotubes＇（CNTs＇） electronic properties. In this study, the relationships between the geometric structures and electronic states of zigzag CNTs under uniaxial compressive strain were investigated. We found that different factors dominate the electronic states of zigzag CNTs depending on the strain regions： the initial stage of the strain loading, which lasts until column-buckling deformation begins, and the strain regions corresponding to column- and shell-buckling deformations. Because shell-buckling deformation significantly increases the re-orbital angle, the angle between the π orbital axis vectors of adjacent atoms, strong localization of the density of states （LDOs） occurs in the buckled area. We also analyzed the current able to pass through deformed CNTs using a tight-binding-based Green＇s function approach and determined that the current can be significantly suppressed by applying uniaxial compressive strain. Our method of predicting the electronic state of a deformed CNT based on the π-orbital angle is expected to be useful for predicting the electronic properties of CNT-based electronic devices and sensors.

AIM: To assess the efficacy of topical semaphorin 3A(sEMA3A) in the treatment of allergic ***: Experimental allergic conjunctivitis(EAC)mice model induced by short ragweed pollen(sRW) in 4-week-old of BALB/c mice, mice were evaluated using haematoxylin and eosin(H&E) staining, immunofluor-escence and light microscope photographs. Early phase took the samples in 24 h after instillation and late phase took the samples between 4 to 14 d after the start of treatment. The study use of topical sEMA3A(10 U, 100 U,1000 U) eye drops and subconjunctival injection of sEMA3 A with same concentration. For comparison, five types of allergy eyedrops were quantified using clinical characteristics.· REsULTs: Clinical score of composite ocular symptoms of the mice treated with sEMA3 A were significantly decreased both in the immediate phase and the late phase compared to those treated with commercial ophthalmic formulations and non-treatment mice. sEMA3 A treatment attenuates infiltration of eosinophils entering into conjunctiva in EAC mice. The score of eosinophil infiltration in the conjunctiva of sEMA3 A 1000 U-treated group were significantly lower than low-concentration of sEMA3 A treated groups and non-treated group. sEMA3 A treatment also suppressed T-cell proliferation in vitro and decreased serum total Ig E levels in EAC mice. Moreover, treatment of sEMA3 A suppressed Th2-related cytokines(IL-5, IL-13 and IL-4)and pro-inflammatory cytokines(IFN-γ, IL-17 and TNF-α)release, but increased regulatory cytokine IL-10 concentration in the conjunctiva of EAC ***: sEMA3 A as a biological agent, showed the beneficial activity in ocular allergic processes with the less damage to the intraocular tissue. It is expected that sEMA3 A may be contributed in patients with a more severe spectrum of refractory ocular allergic diseases including allergic conjunctivitis in the near future.

This paper is concerned with a class of semilinear hyperbolic systems in odd space dimensions. Our main aim is to prove the existence of a small amplitude solution which is asymptotic to the free solution as t →-∞ in the energy norm, and to show it has a free profile as t →＋∞. Our approach is based on the work of [11]. Namely we use a weighted L^∞ norm to get suitable a priori estimates. This can be done by restricting our attention to radially symmetric solutions. Corresponding initial value problem is also considered in an analogous framework. Besides, we give an extended result of [14] for three space dimensional case in section 5, which is prepared independently of the other parts of the paper.
