Depth-Aided Tracking Multiple Objects under Occlusion

In this paper, we have presented a novel tracking method aiming at detecting objects and maintaining their la-bel/identification over the time. The key factors of this method are to use depth information and different strategies to track objects under various occlusion scenarios. The foreground objects are detected and refined by background subtraction and shadow cancellation. The occlusion detection is based on information of foreground blobs in successive frames. The occlusion regions are projected to the projection plane XZ to analysis occlusion situation. According to the occlusion analysis results, different objects’ corresponding strategies are introduced to track objects under various occlusion scenarios including tracking occluded objects in similar depth layer and in different depth layers. The experimental results show that our proposed method can track the moving objects under the most typical and challenging occlusion scenarios.

Phosphate (PO43-) and Nitrate (NO3-) are two main nutrients that cause water eutrophication. In the other hand, the presence of PO43- and NO3- is needed for plant growth. The aims of this study are to recycle Spent Coffee Ground (SCG) modified with calcium hydroxide for adsorption PO43- and NO3-. The optimum adsorption capacity for PO43- and NO3- is 36.74 mg/L and 20.21 mg/L, respectively. The Freundlich isotherm model was suitable for PO43- and NO3- adsorption. The kinetic model for adsorption was linear using Pseudo-second order. The application of modified SCG after enrichment with PO43-

Growth rate has a direct impact on the productivity of nitride LED production. Atmospheric pressure growth of GaN with a growth rate as high as 10/zm/h and also Alo.lGao.gN growth of 1μm/h by using 4 inch by 11 production scale MOVPE are described. XRD of （002） and （102） direction was 200 arcsec and 250 arcsec, respectively. Impact of the growth rate on productivity is discussed.

To identify cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS)-associated genes in tomato,we determined the genome sequences of mitochondria and chloroplasts in three CMS tomato lines derived from independent asymmetric cell fusions,their nuclear and cytoplasmic donors,and male fertile weedy cultivated tomato and wild relatives.The structures of the CMS mitochondrial genomes were highly divergent from those of the nuclear and cytoplasmic donors,and genes of the donors were mixed up in these genomes.On the other hand,the structures of CMS chloroplast genomes were moderately conserved across the donors,but CMS chloroplast genes were unexpectedly likely derived from the nuclear donors.Comparative analysis of the structures and contents of organelle genes and transcriptome analysis identified three genes that were uniquely present in the CMS lines,but not in the donor or fertile lines.RNA-sequencing analysis indicated that these three genes transcriptionally expressed in anther,and identified different RNA editing levels in one gene,orf265,that was partially similar to ATP synthase subunit 8,between fertile and sterile lines.The orf265 was a highly potential candidate for CMS-associated gene.This study suggests that organelle reorganization mechanisms after cell fusion events differ between mitochondria and chloroplasts,and provides insight into the development of new F1 hybrid breeding programs employing the CMS system in tomato.

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS),a tick-borne infectious disease with high mortality,is diagnosed by the serological testing of serum samples from patients in the acute and convalescent phases and/or by direct detection of the SFTS virus(SFTSV).Conventionally,heat and UV treatments have been used to inactivate the viruses present in serum samples before performing the serological assays.Here,we examined the inactivation conditions optimal for SFTSV-containing serum samples to ensure the safety of laboratory workers while maintaining the accuracy of serological assay results simultaneously.Heating human serum samples spiked with SFTSV to 60C for 30 min or exposing them to UV irradiation for 30 min,reduced the infectious virus titer below the limit of detection.SFTSV in sera from patients in the acute phase of SFTS was completely inactivated by heating to 60C for 30 min,followed by UV irradiation for 10 min.This inactivation procedure had minimal impact on the performance of SFTSV antibody detection tests.The data provided herein can serve as a guide for laboratory workers and researchers working with SFTS serological tests.

Diastereoselective catalytic hydrogenation of pyruvic acid esters, amides, and their Schiff bases has been well studied over a long period to show that proline is one of the most effective chiral auxiliaries. Proline derivatives have been used as auxiliaries in the diastereoselective catalytic hydrogenation of pyruvamide Schiff bases. The diastereoselective hydrogenation resulted in up to a 78% enantiomeric excess of the amino acid derived from the hydrolysis of the dipeptide products. The chelation hypothesis explains the stereochemistry of the catalytic hydrogenation using (S)-proline esters in the amide moiety and the two chiral centers in the amide and Schiff base moieties.

Metastatic hepatic leiomyosarcoma is a rare malignant smooth muscle tumor.We report a case of metastatic hepatic leiomyosarcoma associated with smooth muscle tumor of uncertain malignant potential(STUMP).A 68-year-old female presented with a liver mass(60 mm × 40 mm, Segment 4).She underwent left salpingooophorectomy for an ovary tumor with STUMP in a broad ligament 6 years ago.Though FDG-PET showed obvious metabolically active foci, abnormal metabolically active foci other than the lesion were not detected.A malignant liver tumor was strongly suspected and laparoscopic partial liver resection was performed with vessel-sealing devices using the crush clamping method and Pringle maneuver.Immunohistochemical findings revealed metastatic liver leiomyosarcoma associated with STUMP in a broad ligament.This case is an extremely rare case of malignant transformation from primary STUMP to metastatic hepatic leiomyosarcoma.It provides important evidence regarding the treatment for metastatic hepatic leiomyosarcoma associated with STUMP.

The aim of this study is to investigate the condition of the Ariake Sea, Japan, which has been suffering from severe environmental issues for the past few decades. Water quality data have been generated from several points in this area for over 30 years by the Fukuoka, Saga, Kumamoto, and Nagasaki prefectures. In order to understand the characteristics of this sea, principal component analysis (PCA) was utilized using 11 water quality parameters;transparency, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand (COD), dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN), ammonium-nitrogen (NH4+-N), nitrate-nitrogen (NO3--N), nitrite-nitrogen (NO2--N), phosphate-phosphorus, (PO43--P) and silica. PCA conveyed the amount of nutrients originating from the river, the organic pollution level, and seasonal changes. Subsequently, principal component scores were calculated for each point. It was concluded that the Ariake Sea environment has been affected by two main factors, which are the nutrients from the Chikugo River and anticlockwise tidal residual flow. These two factors must be considered for the environmental restoration of the Ariake Sea.
