We demonstrated a new type of MAX phase material, chromium titanium aluminum carbide（Cr2TiAlC2） polymer film, to generate a passively Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser（EDFL）. The film thickness was measured to be around 45 μm, which was fabricated using the embedding method with polyvinyl alcohol（PVA） polymer as hoster. The saturable absorber（SA） film demonstrates a dual-wavelength passively Q-switched EDFL which operates at 1 531 nm and 1 560.19 nm, respectively. The Q-switching pulse duration could be varied from 2.46 μs to 770 ns, while the repetition rate varied from 92.76 kHz to 106.6 kHz with an increasing input pumping range from 154 mW to 300 mW. The maximum output power and pulse energy of 15.05 mW and 141.18 nJ were obtained at the maximum input power of 300 mW, respectively.

Image segmentation is one of the most basic tasks in computer vision and remains an initial step of many applications. In this paper, we focus on interactive image segmentation(IIS), often referred to as foreground–background separation or object extraction, guided by user interaction. We provide an overview of the IIS literature by covering more than 150 publications, especially recent works that have not been surveyed before. Moreover, we try to give a comprehensive classification of them according to different viewpoints and present a general and concise comparison of the most recent published works. Furthermore, we survey widely used datasets,evaluation metrics, and available resources in the field of IIS.

History has shown that occurrences of extreme weather are becoming more frequent and with greater impact,regardless of one's geographical *** a risk analysis setting,what will happen,how likely it is to happen,and what are the consequences,are motivating questions searching for *** help address these considerations,this study introduced and applied a hybrid simulation model developed for the purpose of improving understanding of the costs of extreme weather events in the form of loss and damage,based on empirical data in the contiguous United *** results are encouraging,showing on average a mean cost estimate within 5%of the historical *** creates opportunities to improve the accuracy in estimating the expected costs of such events for a specific event type and geographic *** turn,by having a more credible price point in determining the cost-effectiveness of various infrastructure adaptation strategies,it can help in making the business case for resilience investment.

With the expansive demand for video streaming over mobile networks,it is necessary to adopt schemes that balance the need for high video quality with the available network resources when streaming or downloading the *** approaches were proposed in the literature,including Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP(DASH).In this work,we consider an approach in which we place sufficient emphasis on the constrained battery resources in mobile devices when making decisions on the quality(or bitrate)of the video to be *** is done by using a fuzzy logic controller that enhances the performance of the Fuzzy-based DASH(FDASH)*** results show that our proposed approach conserves more energy than its predecessor while maintaining similar video quality and avoiding playback interruptions.

The present study reports on population structure analysis of the marbled crab Pachygrapsus marmoratus （Fabricius, 1787） from the Tunisian coast, an appropriate location to study biogeographical processes because of the presence of a well-known discontinuous biogeographic area （the Siculo-Tunisian Strait）. Patterns of morphological and genetic variation of this highly dispersive and continuously distributed decapod species were assessed among its geographically close populations which cover almost the entire Tunisian coastline. A total of 386 specimens from nine sites were collected and examined for morphometric variability at 14 morphometric traits. The results of multivariate analyses of linear morphometric traits showed the existence of sexual dimorphism in this species by PERMANOVA （Permutational multivariate analysis of variance）. In addition, both CDA （Canonical discriminant analysis） and NPMANOVA （Non parametric MANOVA test） analyses revealed statistically significant differences among the studied locations for both sexes. Overall, the outcome of CDA analysis showed that over 87% of individuals could be assigned correctly to three regional groups in both sexes （North, Center and South）. Specifically, SIMPER （Similarity Percentages） analysis showed that carapace length, carapace width and merus length were major contributors to the morphometric separation between populations. The pattern of phenotypic variation suggested by morphometric analyses was found to be highly discordant with that suggested by the analysis of a mitochondrial marker （cytochrome oxidase I, COI）. Indeed, the results inferred from restriction fragment analysis of the COI in 180 crabs, suggested high genetic homogeneity. Very low levels of haplotype diversity （h） were found in almost all the studied populations, associated with non significant genetic distances for nearly all population comparisons. The corrosion behaviour of as-cast binary Mg–0.3 Ce,Mg–1.44 Nd,Mg–0.63 Gd and Mg–0.41 Dy(wt%)alloys was investigated in DMEM+10%FBS solution using electrochemical and weight loss *** results revealed that the alloys with heavy RE elements(Gd and Dy)exhibited the lowest corrosion rate compared to the alloys with light RE elements(Ce and Nd).The cytocompatibility of the Mg–RE alloys was assessed via live/dead straining after 3 and 7 *** results show that Mg–0.63 Gd alloy is a suitable candidate for biomedical applications.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is the most common chronic liver disease globally and liver biopsy remains central to diagnosis and risk stratification(1,2).There is currently an immense unmet need to develop non-invasive biomarkers to help establish the diagnosis,disease activity,and disease severity in NAFLD in clinical practice to reduce the need for liver biopsies(3).Unable to identify patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH),the clinically aggressive variant of NAFLD,or significant fibrosis readily in clinical practice presents challenges in management of patients with NAFLD and is one of the reasons why incidence of NASH related cirrhosis is rapidly ***,as there is currently no approved therapy for treatment of NASH,there are several novel therapeutics in clinical trials for treatment of ***,enrollment in these clinical trials has been challenging due to high screen failure rates with the most common reason being disqualifying liver *** non-invasive risk stratification to identify patients with suspect NASH undergoing liver biopsy for clinical trial consideration to reduce the screen failure rates will not only facilitate development of therapeutics but also ***,non-invasive and cheap biomarkers that can be readily deployed in wide clinical settings are urgently needed in clinical and research setting to mitigate the projected increase in NASH related cirrhosis.

Purpose:This paper aims to examine how the adoption decision of the internet banking in North Cyprus would be affected based on the following dimensions;the technology features,the personal characteristics,the social environment and the expected ***/methodology/approach:A self-administered survey was conducted with 291 participants responded to *** partial least square approach of the structural equation modeling(PLS-SEM)is employed to investigate the direct effects of the proposed factors on the adoption ***,the mediation test is used to examine indirect ***:Results showed that even though the participants appreciated the benefits of the online banking as the perceived usefulness factor exerts the greatest direct effect,they would rather use clear and easy-to-use websites,adding to that their assessments of the usefulness of these services are significantly influenced by the surrounding people’s views and prior *** is demonstrated by the total effects of the perceived ease of use and the subjective norm factors,which are greater than the direct effect of the perceived usefulness factor since both of these factors have significant direct and indirect effects mediated by the perceived usefulness *** negative impact of the perceived risk factor is weak compared to the previous *** the personal innovativeness factor showed the weakest effect among the proposed factors.
