AIM:To measure the prognostic significance of absolute monocyte count/absolute lymphocyte count prognostic score(AMLPS) in patients with gastric ***:We retrospectively examined the combination of absolute monocyte count(AMC) and absolute lymphocyte count(ALC) as prognostic variables in a cohort of 299 gastric cancer patients who underwent surgical resection between 2006 and 2013 and were followed at a single *** AMC and ALC were dichotomized into two groups using cut-off points determined by receiving operator characteristic curve *** AMLPS was generated,which stratified patients into three risk groups:low risk(both low AMC and high ALC),intermediate risk(either high AMC or low ALC),and high risk(both high AMC and low ALC).The primary objective of the study was to validate the impact of AMLPS on both disease-free survival(DFS) and overall survival(OS),and the second objective was to assess the AMLPS as an independent prognostic factor for survival in comparison with known prognostic ***:Using data from the entire cohort,the most discriminative cut-off values of AMC and ALC selected on the receiver operating characteristic curve were 672.4/μL and 1734/μL for DFS and *** risk groups included 158(52.8%) patients in the lowrisk,128(42.8%) in the intermediate-risk,and 13(4.3%) in the high-risk *** a median followup of 37.2 mo(range:1.7-91.4 mo),five-year DFS rates in the low-,intermediate-,and high-risk groups were 83.4%,78.7%,and 19.8%,*** fiveyear OS rates in the low-,intermediate-,and high-risk groups were 89.3%,81.1%,and 14.4%,*** multivariate analysis performed with patient- and tumor-related factors,we identified AMLPS,age,and pathologic tumor-node-metastasis stage as the most valuable prognostic factors impacting DFS and ***:AMLPS identified patients with a poor DFS and OS,and it was independent of age,pathologic stage,and various inflammatory markers.

The evolution of membrane-type electronics has facilitated the development of stick-and-play systems,which confer diverse electrical functions to various planar or arbitrary curvilinear *** stick-and-play concept is based on the development of thin electronic devices in a printable format and their subsequent transfer to target *** development of this technology requires control of the interfacial adhesion of the electronic prints for retrieval from a carrier and transfer to the target ***,we discuss the transfer printing for membrane-type electronics,starting from an overview of materials available for flexible substrates,transfer printing of electronic prints for retrieval,and assembly for further ***,we explain the stick-and-play concept based on fabricated membrane-type electronics;"stick" and “play"refer to the transfer of electronic devices and the performance of their electronic functions,*** particular,we broadly survey various methods based on micro/nanostructures,including gecko-inspired,interlocking,cephalopod-sucker-inspired,and cilia structures,which can be employed to stick-and-play systems for enhancing interfacial adhesion with complex target surfaces under dynamic and wet ***,we highlight the stick-and-play system application of micro/nanostructures for skin-attachable biomedical electronics,e-textiles,and environmental monitoring electronics.

Pathologic response to preoperative transarte- rial chemoembolization for resectable hepatocellular carcinoma may not predict recurrence after liver resection

Hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） is one of the most frequent complications in patients with .liver cirrhosis. HCC without cirrhosis is rareand obviously a different entity. Treatment depends on tumor stage, liver function and general performance. Results of locoregional treatment, resection or liver transplantation are superior to those of medical therapy. Surgical approaches are potentially curative. Underlying cirrhosis is usually the limiting factor for the extent of resection and persists after resection. Liver transplantation eliminates both cirrhosis and, potentially, the tumor. Whereas surgery （functional liver capacity provided） may be performed even in advanced tumors, liver transplantation is advocated in less advanced （T2） tumors in order to keep the rate of recurrent tumor low. Responsible use of scarce grafts requires sticking to this rule.

Muscular atrophy and weakness in the lower extremities in Behçet’s disease: A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND In Behçet’s disease(BD),very few cases of muscular involvement have been reported *** natural history and therapeutic protocol for muscular involvement in BD are obscure due to the low incidence of peripheral neuropathy or myopathy in *** purpose of our study was to report a rare case of BD with chronic,focal forms of neuromyopathy and review the relevant *** SUMMARY We herein report the case of a 54-year-old man who presented with progressive muscular atrophy and weakness of both thighs 2 years after the presentation of the cardinal symptoms of *** past medical history,electrophysiological study,neurological examination,blood tests,magnetic resonance imaging study,and histological exam were performed for the differential *** literature on muscular involvement in BD was *** examination revealed that muscular involvement was predominantly localized in the proximal parts of the lower *** enhancement of several thigh muscles was observed on magnetic resonance imaging,which corresponded with the clinical *** study of one of the enhanced muscles showed denervation atrophy of the muscle with superimposed myopathic changes,while electrophysiological studies only suggested *** To our knowledge,this is the first case of neurogenic muscular atrophy with a specific set of clinical,radiological,electrophysiological,and histological findings reported in BD.

Information Extraction Based on Multi-turn Question Answering for Analyzing Korean Research Trends

Analyzing Research and Development(R&D)trends is important because it can influence future decisions regarding R&D *** typical trend analysis,topic or technology taxonomies are employed to compute the popularities of the topics or codes over *** it is simple and effective,the taxonomies are difficult to manage because new technologies are introduced ***,recent studies exploit deep learning to extract pre-defined targets such as problems and *** on the recent advances in question answering(QA)using deep learning,we adopt a multi-turn QA model to extract problems and solutions from Korean R&D *** the previous research,we use the reports directly and analyze the difficulties in handling them using QA style on Information Extraction(IE)for sentence-level benchmark *** investigating the characteristics of Korean R&D,we propose a model to deal with multiple and repeated appearances of targets in the ***,we propose a model that includes an algorithm with two novel modules and a prompt.A newly proposed methodology focuses on reformulating a question without a static template or pre-defined *** show the effectiveness of the proposed model using a Korean R&D report dataset that we constructed and presented an in-depth analysis of the benefits of the multi-turn QA model.

To the Editor: Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis(XGC) is an uncommon inflammatory disease of the gallbladder, and its incidence is reported to be 1.3%-5.2% [1]. XGC is diagnosed by histopathological examination, characterized by severe inflammatory destruction followed by a granulomatous reaction, marked proliferative fibrosis, and infiltration of inflammatory cells [2].

Persistent half-metallic ferromagnetism in a(111)-oriented manganite superlattice

We employ electronic structure calculations to show that a(111)-oriented(LaMnO_(3))_(12)∣(SrMnO_(3))_(6)superlattice retains a half-metallic ferromagnetic character despite its large *** link this behaviour to the strain and the octahedral connectivity between the *** also gives rise to breathing modes,which are coupled to charge and spin oscillations,whose components have a pure e_(g)*** interestingly,the magnetisation reaches its maximum value inside the LaMnO_(3)region and not at the interface,which is fundamentally different from what observed for the(001)*** inter-atomic exchange coupling shows that the magnetic order arises from the double-exchange mechanism,despite competing interactions inside the SrMnO_(3)***,the van Vleck distortions and the spin oscillations are crucially affected by the variation of Hund’s exchange and charge doping,which allows us to speculate that our system behaves as a Hund’s metal,creating an interesting connection between manganites and nickelates.

BACKGROUND Only a few cases of giant pseudomeningoceles have been reported in the ***,we report a giant pseudomeningocele of the cervical spine that was found after cervical laminectomy for an epidural hematoma following epidural *** SUMMARY A 47-year-old man presented with recurrent neck pain and posterior neck swelling after spinal *** resonance imaging of the cervical spine revealed fluid collection(5.6 cm×6.6 cm×11.2 cm)at the C3-6 level;this proved to be a *** related to the pseudomeningocele resolved following dural repair and fat graft *** Although rare,pseudomeningocele is a possibility in patients with recurrent back pain,radicular pain,or a persistent headache following spinal *** attention should be paid throughout the spinal procedure,whether conservative or non-conservative.

Dear Editor,Optic perineuritis is a rare inflammatory disorder involving the optic nerve sheath and its adjacent *** condition shows dramatic responses to steroid treatment, although relapse is common. Additional characteristics of optic perineuritis include the sparing of central vision on a visual field test, relatively good initial visual acuity, and optic disc edemaI^l. Most cases are idiopathic, although some rare cases have been associated with specific infections, such as syphilis and viral infections, and autoimmune disorders including We- gener＇s granulomatosis, sarcoidosis, and giant cell arteritis.
