Pathways of Phosphorus Absorption and Early Signaling between the Mycorrhizal Fungi and Plants

This review highlights the key role that mycorrhizal fungi play in making phosphorus(Pi)more available to plants,including pathways of phosphorus absorption,phosphate transporters and plant-mycorrhizal fungus symbiosis,especially in conditions where the level of inorganic phosphorus(Pi)in the soil is *** fungi colonization involves a series of signaling where the plant root exudates strigolactones,while the mycorrhizal fungi release a mixture of chito-oligosaccharides and liposaccharides,that activate the symbiosis process through gene signaling pathways,and contact between the hyphae and the *** the symbiosis is established,the extraradical mycelium acts as an extension of the roots and increases the absorption of nutrients,particularly phosphorus by the phosphate *** then moves along the hyphae to the plant root/fungus *** transfer of Pi occurs in the apoplectic space;in the case of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi,Pi is discharged from the arbuscular to the plant’s root symplasm,in the membrane that surrounds the *** is then absorbed through the plant periarbuscular membrane by plant phosphate ***,plants can acquire Pi from soil as a direct absorption *** a result of this review,several genes that codify for high-affinity Pi transporters were *** plants,the main family is Pht1 although it is possible to find others such as Pht2,Pht3,Pho1 and *** in plants,mycorrhizal fungi have genes belonging to the Pht1 *** arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi we found L1PT1,GiPT,MtPT1,MtPT2,MtPT4,HvPT8,ZmPht1,TaPTH1.2,GmosPT and ***1,HcPT2 and BePT have been characterized in ectomycorrhizal *** gene has a different way of expressing *** this review,we present diagrams of the symbiotic relationship between mycorrhizal fungi and the *** knowledge allows us to design solutions to regional problems such as food production in soils with low levels of Pi.

Software improvement for evaluation of laryngopharyngeal pH testing(Restech)——a comparison between Data View 3 and 4

Antibiotic-impregnated ventricular shunt catheters(AIVSCs)with 0.15%clindamycin and 0.054%rifampin are commonly used to prevent ventriculo-peritoneal(VP)shunt *** approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration in 2003(https://***/file/general/***),they have antimicrobial activity documented for minimum 31 days(https://***/cdrh_docs/pdf11/***).These antibiotics were chosen as they cover the majority of Staphylococcus aureus and may provide some activity against coagulase negative staphylococci.1 These normal skin flora account for the majority of VP shunt *** the largest randomized controlled trial(RCT)to date,AIVSCs significantly reduced the risk of infection compared with standard shunts(cause-specific hazard ratio(HR)0.38).2 This effect was mainly due to a reduction in staphylococcal infections;the number of gram-negative infections was similar in both *** studies3–5 and a meta-analysis6 in children support the findings of this *** objective of this study was to examine the spectrum of pathogens,time to infection,and outcomes with AIVSCs vs standard shunts.

Performance of cold-preserved rat liver Microorgans as the biological component of a simplified prototype model of bioartificial liver

AIM To develop a simplified bioartificial liver(BAL) device prototype, suitable to use freshly and preserved liver Microorgans(LMOs) as biological component. METHODS The system consists of 140 capillary fibers through which goat blood is pumped. The evolution of hema-tocrit, plasma and extra-fiber fluid osmolality was evaluated without any biological component, to characterize the prototype. LMOs were cut and cold stored 48 h in BG35 and Via Span~? solutions. Fresh LMOs were used as controls. After preservation, LMOs were loaded into the BAL and an ammonia overload was added. To assess LMOs viability and functionality, samples were taken to determine lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) release and ammonia detoxification capacity. RESULTS The concentrations of ammonia and glucose, and the fluids osmolalities were matched after the first hour of perfusion, showing a proper exchange between blood and the biological compartment in the minibioreactor. After 120 min of perfusion, LMOs cold preserved in BG35 and Via Span~? were able to detoxify 52.9% ± 6.5% and 53.6% ± 6.0%, respectively, of the initial ammonia overload. No significant differences were found with Controls(49.3% ± 8.8%, P < 0.05). LDH release was 6.0% ± 2.3% for control LMOs, and 6.2% ± 1.7% and 14.3% ± 1.1% for BG35 and Via Span~? cold preserved LMOs, respectively(n = 6, P < 0.05). CONCLUSION This prototype relied on a simple design and excellent performance. It’s a practical tool to evaluate the detoxification ability of LMOs subjected to different preservation protocols.

Body and Muscle Growth of Pre-Larvae and Larvae of Turbot, <i>Scophthalmus Maximus</i>L., Reared at Three Different Temperatures

Three turbot groups were kept at 15℃ - 16℃ (Cold Temperature, T), 17℃ - 18℃ (ambient T) and 21℃ - 22℃(warm T) during the larval development in order to study the thermal influence on muscle growth and larval development in this species. During the early stages (2 - 6 days of post-hatching), the body and the muscle growth was scarce, although the hyperplasia increased slightly, being higher at ambient and at cold T than at warm T. In contrast, the highest value of hypertrophy was found in the warm group. At 15 days of age, the body length and muscle growth increased in all the groups, being significantly higher in the warm than in the rest of groups. Thus, the highest values of both the hypertrophy and the hyperplasia of the white muscle fibres were reached at warm T, although it was only significant for the hyperplasia. The end of the metamorphosis was reached at 29 days of age in the warm group, whereas in the rest of groups it was no observed yet. At this developmental stage, the warm group showed the typical morphological mosaic of the myotome, and it was accompanied by an increase of the transverse area of the white and the red muscles, parallel to an increase of both the hypertrophy and the hyperplasia of the muscle fibres. The hyperplasia of the white fibres was the parameter most significantly increased. Also, the body length increased significantly in this group, reaching ≈ 1.6 cm at this stage.

本文对黄连素的抗脑肿瘤作用,以及与1,3-bis(2-chloroethyl)-l-nitrosourea(BC-NU)联合应用进行了实验研究。用集落生成率测定(CFE)对6个人类脑胶质瘤细胞株和大白鼠9L脑肿瘤细胞(胶质肉瘤)进行了离体研究。用姐妹染色体交换法(SCE),对9L脑肿瘤细胞进行了评价。同时,在活体实验中用集落生成率测定对脑内固体9L脑肿瘤的治疗进行了分析。在BCNU的浓度为23μm单独使用时,对6个人类脑胶质瘤细胞株可获得平均为43％的细胞杀灭作用(0.24Log Kill)。而在黄连素与23μmBCNV联合应用治疗中,则可见到平均为97％的细胞杀灭相加作用(1.55Log Kill)。在采用150μg/ml黄连素离体治疗中,9L细胞姐妹染色体相对数的增高超过底数的2.7倍。在活体实验中,黄连素与BCNU联合应用也显示出细胞毒性相加作用。

大宗货物需求的日益增长趋势促使包括散货海港在内的港口提高效率。2015年7月新加坡港的石油吞吐量创了新高并导致了港区的拥堵,中国和澳大利亚的港口由于煤炭进出口需求的增大面临着同样的问题。因此,有必要通过开发数学优化模型以提高港口作业的效率。本论文研究目的是通过开发泊位分配及装卸设备调度协同优化模型以提高散货海港的作业效率。针对离散泊位布局,本文既考虑船舶在码头的停靠位置(泊位分配),又根据货物的类型做出装卸设备调度的决策,以最小化船舶在港靠泊时间。所构建的数学优化模型考虑了不同装卸设备(如输送带、管道、抓斗起重机和水泥设施)的具体作业效率。基于实际港口的案例研究表明,该模型合理分配了专用泊位、专用装卸设备,显著减少了在港靠泊时间和拥堵。本文同时针对港口可持续性和韧性的概念开展了系统性的文献综述,为港口建设具备可持续性的系统总结了经验和建议。

The current pressure on the built historical heritage requires a global evaluation to develop strategies for its preservation.A combined vision of the state of conservation of architectural heritage is essential to highlight the vulnerabilities of the structure from which harmonized measures can be proposed for its *** study proposes a multi-criteria analysis methodology that considers a qualitative and quantitative approach to organize the global conservation state of heritage buildings hierarchically.A global index can be determined on the basis of the generation of an interoperable data matrix by defining a set of indicators to assess different components of a *** index describes the risk with respect to the stability,safety,and habitability of the *** methodology aims to achieve the state of the building in an integral way by obtaining a simple and objective index that enables efficient comparison among different *** application of this methodology to a historic area allows creating a hierarchical map of risk to stablish priorities for intervention and enable a sustainable and critical management and planning over the actions of maintenance,conservation,and *** this way,a holistic vision of the complex reality of built heritage and the urban landscape is obtained to identify critical areas of priority intervention.

Potential seed germination-enhancing plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria for restoration of Pinus chiapensis ecosystems

Rhizosphere soil samples of three Pinus chiapensis sites were analyzed for their physicochemical properties,soil bacteria isolated and screened in vitro for growthpromoting *** isolates that showed promise were identified to five genera Dyella,Luteimonas,Euterobacter,Paraburkholderia and Bacillus based on the sequences of16 S rRNA *** the strains were isolated from nondisturbed *** bacteria significantly decreased germination time and increased sprout *** acetic acid and gibberellin production and phosphate solubilisation were *** indicate that these biochemicals could be essential for *** distribution and suggest the possibility that PGPR inoculation on *** seeds prior to planting could improve germination and possibly seedling development.

The Epidemio-Clinic Profile of Clandestine Abortion at Saint Joseph Hospital (Kinshasa)

Objective: To identify the epidemiologic profile of the woman having practiced the clandestine abortion, to determine the frequency and the complications of the clandestine abortion and to evaluate the prognosis of the clandestine abortion in our area. Method: The present study is descriptive and retrospective covering the period from January 2017 to December 2017, the one year period. On 118 patients received in the service for clandestine abortion, 60 were retained for the study. The 58 other files were excluded because of not containing sufficient information for this study. The descriptive statistical analyses were applied for the data analysis. Results: The frequency of the allowed patients for complication of clandestine abortion caused at the Saint Joseph hospital of Kinshasa was 6.03%. The most concerned population with this practice was less than 15 years and more than 45 years;they were unmarried (41.6%) and nulliparous (41.6%) in most cases. Ancillary medical staff (especially nurses) was accused the most in this practice of the illegal abortion caused by the dilatation and curettage with 50%. The genital haemorrhage constitutes the principal complication and reason for consultation and accounted for 78.3%. The assumption of responsibility is primarily medical and surgical. The vital prognosis is satisfactory for the immediate one, because no death is noted. Conclusion: The clandestine abortion remains public health problem in our communities. The results found in our study call for certain reflections so that to reduce its frequency and to avoid its complications.
