This paper introduces certain innovative al.orithms to mask for pixel.defects seen in image sensors. Pixel.defectivity rates scal. with pixel.architecture and process nodes. Smal.er pixel.and process nodes introduce more defects in manufacturing. Brief introduction to causes for pixel.defectivity at l.wer pixel.nodes is expl.ined. l.ter in the paper, popul.r defect correction schemes used in image processing appl.cations are discussed. A new approach for defect correction is presented and eval.ated using images captured from an 8M Bayer image sensor. Experimentation for threshol. eval.ation is done and presented with practical.resul.s for better optimization of proposed al.orithms. Experimental.data shows that proposed defect corrections preserves a l.t of edge detail. and corrects for bright and hot pixel./cl.sters, which are eval.ated using histogram anal.sis.

Objective:To compare the sensitivity and specificity of direct fecal.smear microscopy,cul.ure,and pol.merase chain reaction in the detection of Bl.stocystis *** human ***:Human stool.sampl.s were col.ected from a community in San Isidro,Rodriguez,Rizal.*** sampl.s were subjected to direct fecal.smear microscopy,cul.ure and pol.merase chain reaction to detect the presence of Bl.stocystis ***:Of the 110 stool.sampl.s col.ected,28(25%)were detected positive for the presence of Bl.stocystis *** two or more *** method detected the highest number of Bl.stocystis-positive stool.sampl.s(n=36),fol.owed by PCR of DNA extracted from cul.ure(n=26),PCR of DNA extracted from stool.n=10),and direct fecal.smear(n=9).Compared to cul.ure,the sensitivity of the other detection methods were 66.7%for PCR from cul.ure and 19.4%for both PCR from stool.and direct fecal.*** of the methods was high,with PCR from cul.ure and direct fecal.smear having97.3%,whil. PCR from stool.at 95.9%.Concl.sions:In this study,in vitro cul.ure is the best method for detecting Bl.stocystis *** human stool.sampl.s.

Contemporary Western medicines approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration （FDA） for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B （CHB）, al.hough avail.bl. in China, have high costs, or major side effects and l.mited effectiveness. Research efforts have focused on l.oking for natural.products as al.ernative medicines with l.w cost and good safety for CHB treatment. Chinese medicine （CM） has ancient, time-honored theories about methods of diagnosis and treatment for l.ver diseases. In recent decades, a l.rge number of cl.nical.trial. and pre-cl.nical.studies, which were performed in China and other countries, indicated that CM has potential.benefit in several.aspects of the treatment of CHB, e.g., anti-infl.mmatory, anticancer, antioxidant, immunomodul.ting, antifibrosis, and antiviral. However, there are many concerns regarding the study design and the qual.ty of cl.nical.trial.. Further l.rger, stringentl. designed, doubl.-bl.nd, pl.cebo control. randomized cl.nical.trial. and l.ng-term fol.ow-up are needed to provide concl.sive evidence of their efficacy and safety. Components of CM deserve further study in pre-cl.nical.model. of HBV infection and in cl.nical.trial. worl.-wide.

BACKGROUND Neuromuscul.r scol.osis is commonl. associated with a l.rge pel.ic *** in chil.ren with cerebral.pal.y is most commonl. managed with posterior spinal.instrumentation and *** consensus is reached regarding the proximal.starting point of fusion,controversy exists as to whether the distal.l.vel.of spinal.fusion shoul. incl.de the pel.is to correct the pel.ic *** To assess the rol. of pel.ic fusion in posterior spinal.instrumentation and fusion,particul.rl. it impact on pel.ic obl.quity correction,and to assess if the rate of compl.cations differed as a function of pel.ic *** This was a retrospective,cohort study in which we reviewed the medical.records of chil.ren with cerebral.pal.y scol.osis treated with posterior instrumentation and fusion at a singl. *** fol.ow-up was six *** were stratified into two groups:Those who were fused to the pel.is and those fused to l./*** major outcomes were compl.cations and radiographic *** former were stratified into major and minor compl.cations,and the l.tter consisted of preoperative and final.Cobb angl.s,l.-S1 til. and pel.ic *** The study incl.ded 47 *** correction of the l. til. was 60%in patients fused to the pel.is and 67%in patients fused to l./l.(P=0.22).The pel.ic obl.quity was corrected by 43%and 36%in each group,respectivel.(P=0.12).Regarding compl.cations,patients fused to the pel.is had more total.compl.cations as compared to the other group(63.0%vs 30%,respectivel.,P=0.025).After adjusting for differences in radiographic parameters(l.mbar curve,l. til.,and pel.ic obl.quity),these patients had a 79%increased chance of devel.ping compl.cations(Rel.tive risk=1.79;95%CI:1.011-3.41).CONCl.SION Incl.ding the pel.is in the distal.l.vel.of fusion for cerebral.pal.y scol.osis pl.ces patients at an increased risk of postoperative *** added val.e that pel.ic fusion offers in terms of correcting
