Rice ratoon cropping,or the cultivation of tillers that have regrown from existing stem nodes of a harvested crop,is currently a hot topic in agriculture,and record-high ratoon crop yields have been achieved in China(Xu et al.,2021).Although rice ratoon cropping is most appropriate for certain agro-ecosystems with a suitable climate and cropping schedule,it is a promising strategy to simultaneously increase productivity while reducing inputs and *** ratoon cropping may thereby contribute to global food security and agro-ecosystem sustainability.

后张法预应力混凝土自复位墙是一种有效的可恢复功能结构。虽然自复位墙自身在地震中损伤较小,但其与周边构件的变形不协调可使结构损伤严重。为控制结构层面的损伤,设计了1个框架-自复位墙结构,对自复位墙底、梁柱节点、墙梁节点、墙-基础连接、柱-基础连接以及墙-板连接开展损伤控制设计,并对设计的结构进行足尺振动台试验。结构共经历了39次不同设计工况下不同烈度的地震激励,峰值加速度最大达1.0g,位移角最大达3.3%。对结构在历次地震作用下整体、局部构件和节点的损伤发展进行全过程定量分析,结果表明:自复位墙-开槽梁结构在地震作用下的损伤能够得到有效控制,其中多遇、设防地震作用下结构基本无损伤,罕遇地震作用下墙底损伤仅限角部剥落且面积仅为400 cm2,楼板有开裂且裂缝最大仅为1.2 mm,梁端剥落可忽略;自复位墙-开槽梁结构可使整个结构在不同设计位移角下实现多遇、设防地震不坏,罕遇地震小修甚至不修的抗震性能目标;设计的连接方式解决了结构中构件之间的变形不协调问题,提高了自复位墙结构层面的可修复性。

Myocarditis is a disease process that every emergency physician fears *** severity can be mild to life-threatening,and many cases are likely undetected because they are subclinical with nonspecifi c signs.[1]Subtle cardiac signs may be overshadowed by systemic symptoms of the underlying infectious ***,myalgias,lethargy,symptoms commonly associated with viral syndrome,can mask the life-threatening myocarditis that may be *** fact,in the United States Myocarditis Treatment Trial,almost 90%of patients reported symptoms consistent with a viral prodrome.[2]Ammirati et al[3]reported that 27%of patients with myocarditis had either reduced left ventricular ejection fraction,ventricular arrhythmias,or low cardiac ***,we present a case report,in which handheld point-of-care ultrasound was utilized at the bedside to aid in the critical diagnosis of *** the additional information provided through this imaging modality,this patient was able to be transferred to the appropriate tertiary care facility in an expeditious manner and receive possible defi nitive treatment.

Moirésuperlattices,arising from the controlled twisting of van der waals homostructures at specific angles,have emerged as a promising platform for quantum emission ***,the manipulation of strain provides a versatile strategy to finely adjust electronic band structures,enhance exciton luminescence efficiency,and establish a robust foundation for two-dimensional quantum light ***,the intricate interplay between strain and moirépotential remains partially ***,we introduce a meticulously designed fusion of strain engineering and the twisted 2L-wSe_(2)/2L-wSe_(2) homobilayers,resulting in the precise localization of moiré*** low-temperature photoluminescence spectroscopy,we unveil the emergence of highly localized moiré-enhanced emission,characterized by the presence of multiple distinct emission ***,our investigation demonstrates the effective regulation of moirépotential depths through strain engineering,with the potential depths of strained and unstrained regions differing by 91%.By combining both experimental and theoretical approaches,our study elucidates the complex relationship between strain and moirépotential,thereby opening avenues for generating strain-induced moiréexciton single-photon sources.

Activity Data and Emission Factor for Forestry and Other Land Use Change Subsector to Enhance Carbon Market Policy and Action in Malawi

Activity data and emission factors are critical for estimating greenhouse gas emissions and devising effective climate change mitigation strategies. This study developed the activity data and emission factor in the Forestry and Other Land Use Change (FOLU) subsector in Malawi. The results indicate that “forestland to cropland,” and “wetland to cropland,” were the major land use changes from the year 2000 to the year 2022. The forestland steadily declined at a rate of 13,591 ha (0.5%) per annum. Similarly, grassland declined at the rate of 1651 ha (0.5%) per annum. On the other hand, cropland, wetland, and settlements steadily increased at the rate of 8228 ha (0.14%);5257 ha (0.17%);and 1941 ha (8.1%) per annum, respectively. Furthermore, the results indicate that the “grassland to forestland” changes were higher than the “forestland to grassland” changes, suggesting that forest regrowth was occurring. On the emission factor, the results interestingly indicate that there was a significant increase in carbon sequestration in the FOLU subsector from the year 2011 to 2022. Carbon sequestration increased annually by 13.66 ± 0.17 tCO2 e/ha/yr (4.6%), with an uncertainty of 2.44%. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is potential for a Carbon market in Malawi.

To the Editor : Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) Stage C hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) with vascular invasion has been considered unresectable. However, the curative rate from systemic treatment is rather dismal. Even with the use of immunotherapy, complete remission is less than 10% [ 1 ]. On the contrary, recent advances in transplant oncology, especially in the application of liver transplant-related surgical techniques in complex liver resections, make the operation possible for patients with locally advanced HCC who were previously considered to be unresectable [ 2 ]. we hereby present the surgical management of a patient with giant HCC in right liver lobe with inferior vena cava(IVC) invasion.
