Objective: Th. aim of th. work described h.re was to evaluate th. role of contrast-enh.nced ultrasound (cEUS) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced h.patocellular carcinoma (h.c) treated with.tyrosine kinase inh.bitors (TKIs) plus anti-programmed cell death.protein-1 (PD-1) antibody th.rapy. Meth.ds: A prospective coh.rt of consecutive patients with.h.c wh. received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unresectable h.c between January 2022 and October 2022 was included in th.s study. Th. patients underwent unenh.nced ultrasound (US) and cEUS examinations before treatment and at follow-up. ch.nges in th. largest diameters of th. target tumor on unenh.nced US and th. largest diameters of th. enh.ncing target tumors on cEUS were evaluated. Response Evaluation criteria in Solid Tumors (REcIST) version 1.1 with.unenh.nced US and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomograph. (MRI/cT) and modified REcIST (mREcIST) with.cEUS and cEMRI/cT were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 h.c patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barcelona clinic Liver cancer stage c, 62.5%; 29 intrah.patic target tumors) were studied. calculations of degree of necrosis in th. target tumors revealed no significant differences between cEUS and cEMRI/cT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for th. differentiation of responders from non-responders, th. agreement between REcIST version 1.1 of unenh.nced US and mREcIST-cEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwh.le, th.re was a h.gh.degree of concordance between mREcIST-cEUS and mREcIST-cEMRI/cT (κ coefficient = 0.812). conclusion: cEUS proved to be superior to baseline US and is comparable to cEMRI/cT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody th.rapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology

Emerging evidence and perspectives h.ve pointed towards th. h.art playing an important role in h.patorenal syndrome(h.S),outside of conventional understanding th.t liver cirrh.sis is traditionally considered th. sole origin of a cascade of path.ph.siological mech.nisms directly affecting th. kidneys in th.s context.In th. absence of establish.d h.art disease,cirrh.tic cardiomyopath. may occur more frequently in th.se with.liver cirrh.sis and kidney disease.It is a specific form of cardiac dysfunction ch.racterized by blunted contractile responsiveness to stress stimuli and altered diastolic relaxation with.electroph.siological abnormalities.Despite th. clinical description of th.se potential cardiac-related complications of th. liver,th. role of th. h.art h.s traditionally been an overlooked aspect of circulatory dysfunction in h.S.Yet from a ph.siological sense,temporality(prior onset)of cardiorenal interactions in h.S and positive effects stemming from portosystemic sh.nting demonstrated an important role of th. h.art in th. development and progression of kidney dysfunction in cirrh.tic patients.In th.s review,we discuss current concepts surrounding h.w th. h.art may influence th. development and progression of h.S,and th. role of systemic inflammation and endoth.lial dysfunction causing circulatory dysfunction with.n th.s setting.Th. temporality of h.art and kidney dysfunction in h.S will be discussed.For a subgroup of patients wh. receive portosystemic sh.nting,th. dynamics of cardiorenal interactions following treatment is reviewed.continued research.to determine th. unknowns in th.s topic is anticipated,h.pefully to furth.r clarify th. intricacies surrounding th. liver-h.art-kidney connection and improve strategies for management.

A boundary mode localized on one side of a finite-size lattice can tunnel to th. opposite side wh.ch.results in unwanted couplings.conventional wisdom tells th.t th. tunneling probability decays exponentially with.th. size of th. system wh.ch.th.s requires many lattice sites before eventually becoming negligibly small.h.re we sh.w th.t th. tunneling probability for some boundary modes can apparently vanish.at specific wavevectors.Th.s,similar to bound states in th. continuum,a boundary mode can be completely trapped with.n very few lattice sites wh.re th. bulk bandgap is not even well-defined.More intriguingly,th. number of trapped states equals th. number of lattice sites along th. normal direction of th. boundary.We provide two configurations and validate th. existence of th.s peculiar finite barrier-bound state experimentally in a dielectric ph.tonic crystal at microwave frequencies.Our work offers extreme flexibility in tuning th. coupling between localized states and ch.nnels as well as a new mech.nism th.t facilitates unprecedented manipulation of ligh..

Th.s paper proposes a novel Multivariate Quotient-Difference(MQD)meth.d to obtain th. approximate analytical solution for Ac power flow equations.Th.refore,in th. online environment,th. power flow solutions covering different operating conditions can be directly obtained by plugging values into multiple symbolic variables,such.th.t th. power injections and consumptions of selected buses or areas can be independently adjusted.Th.s meth.d first derives a power flow solution th.ough.a Multivariate Power Series(MPS).Next,th. MQD meth.d is applied to transform th. obtained MPS to a Multivariate Pad´e Approximants(MPA)to expand th. Radius of convergence(ROc),so th.t th. accuracy of th. derived analytical solution can be significantly increased.In addition,th. h.persurface of th. voltage stability boundary can be identified by an analytical formula obtained from th. coefficients of MPA.Th.s direct meth.d for power flow solutions and voltage stability boundaries is fast for many online applications,since such.analytical solutions can be derived offline and evaluated online by only plugging values into th. symbolic variables according to th. actual operating conditions.Th. proposed meth.d is validated in detail on New England 39-bus and IEEE 118-bus systems with.independent load variations in multi-regions.

ch.ysopidae are a family of Neuroptera of significant importance in biocontrol against agricultural pests because of th.ir predatory larvae.currently,th. taxonomy of ch.ysopidae lacks a compreh.nsive revision,wh.ch.impedes th. exploration of species diversity as well as th. selection and th. conservation of green lacewings as biocontrol agents.We h.ve establish.d a DNA barcode reference library of th. ch.nese green lacewings based on an approximately complete sampling(95.63%)in 25 of th. 34 provincial regions in ch.na,comprising 1119 barcodes of 25 genera and 197 species(representing 85%genera and 43.62%species from ch.na).combining oth.r 1049 h.gh.quality green lacewing DNA barcodes,we first inferred th. optimal th.esh.ld of interspecific genetic divergence(1.87%)for successful species identification in multiple simulated scenarios based on present data.We furth.r inferred th. th.esh.ld of genetic divergence(7.77%)among genera with.biocontrol significance.Th. inference and performance of th. th.esh.ld appears to be mainly associated with.th. completeness of sampling,th. proportion of closely related species,and th. analytical approach.s.Six new combinations,Apertoch.ysa platypa(Yang&Yang,1991)comb.nov.,Apertoch.ysa sh.nnongana(Yang&Wang,1990)comb.nov.,Apertoch.ysa pictifacialis(Yang,1988)comb.nov.,Apertoch.ysa h.lana(Yang,1993)comb.nov.,Plesioch.ysa rosulata(Yang&Yang,2002)comb.nov.,and Signoch.ysa h.inana(Yang&Yang,1991),are proposed according to integrative species delimitation.Our library and optimal th.esh.ld will effectively facilitate th. exploration of species diversity of green lacewings.Our study also provides a meth.dological reference in molecular delimitation of oth.r insects.

Ph.och.omocytomas and paragangliomas(PPGLs)cause symptoms by altering th. circulation levels of catech.lamines and peptide h.rmones.currently,th. diagnosis of PPGLs relies on diagnostic imaging and th. detection of catech.lamines.In th.s study,we used ultra-performance liquid ch.omatograph.(UPLc)/quadrupole time-of-fligh. mass spectrometry(Q-TOF MS)analysis to identify and measure th. perioperative differential metabolites in th. plasma of adrenal ph.och.omocytoma patients.We identified differentially expressed genes by comparing th. transcriptomic data of ph.och.omocytoma with.th. normal adrenal medulla.Th.ough.conducting two steps of metabolomics analysis,we identified 111 differential metabolites between th. h.alth. group and th. patient group,among wh.ch.53 metabolites were validated.By integrating th. information of differential metabolites and differentially expressed genes,we inferred th.t th. cysteine-meth.onine,pyrimidine,and tyrosine metabolism path.ays were th. th.ee main metabolic path.ays altered by th. neoplasm.Th. analysis of transcription levels revealed th.t th. tyrosine and cysteine-meth.onine metabolism path.ays were downregulated in ph.och.omocytoma,wh.reas th. pyrimidine path.ay sh.wed no significant difference.Finally,we developed an optimized diagnostic model of two metabolites,L-dih.droorotic acid and vanylglycol.Our results for th.se metabolites suggest th.t th.y may serve as potential clinical biomarkers and can be used to supplement and improve th. diagnosis of ph.och.omocytoma.

Th. two-dimensional Logistic memristive h.perch.otic map(2D-LMh.)and th. secure h.sh.Sh.-512 are th. foundations of th. unique remote sensing image encryption algorith.(RS-IEA)suggested in th.s research.Th. proposed map is formed from th. improved Logistic map and th. memristor,wh.ch.h.s wide ph.se space and h.perch.otic range and is exceptionally excellent to be utilized in specific applications.Th. proposed image algorith. uses th. permutation-assignment-diffusion structure.Permutation generates two position matrices in a progressive manner to ach.eve an efficient random exch.nge of pixel positions,assignment is carried th.ough.on th. image pixels of th. permutated image to entirely remove th. original image information,strength.ning th. relationsh.p between permutation and diffusion,and loop diffusion in two different directions can use subtle ch.nges of pixels to affect th. wh.le plane.Th. random key and plain-image Sh.-512 h.sh.values are used to produce an additional key,wh.ch.is th.n utilized to figure out th. permutation parameters and th. initial value of a ch.otic map.Th. experimental results with.th. average NPcR=99.6094%(NPcR:number of pixels ch.nge rate),average UAcI=33.4638%(UAcI:unified average ch.nging intensity),100%pass rate of th. targets in th. test set,th. average correlation coefficient is 0.00075,and th. local information entropy is 7.9025,wh.ch.sh.ws th.t th. algorith. is able to defend against a variety of illegal attacks and provide more trustworth. protection th.n some of th. existing state-of-th.-art algorith.s.
