Background:Although there is broad consensus around the need to accelerate progress towards universal health coverage(UHC)in Sub-Saharan Africa,the financing strategies for achieving it are still *** sought to leverage the lessons learned in financing HIV programs over the past two decades to inform efforts to advance the universal health coverage agenda in the East African ***:We conducted a literature review of studies reporting financing mechanisms for HIV programs between 2004 and *** review is further underpinned by evidence from a mixed-methods study entailing a survey of 195 health facilities across Uganda supplemented with 18 semi-structured interviews with HIV service ***:Our data shows that there are six broad HIV financing strategies with potential for application to the universal health coverage agenda in the East African Community(EAC);i)Bi-lateral and multi-lateral funding vehicles:The establishment of HIV-specific global financing vehicles such as PEPFAR and The Global Fund heralded an era of unprecedented levels of international funding of up to$500 billion over the past two decades ii)Eliciting private sector contribution to HIV funding:The private sector’s financial contribution to HIV services was leveraged through innovative engagement and collaborative interventions iii)Private sector-led alternative HIV financing mechanisms:The introduction of‘VIP’HIV clinics,special‘HIV insurance’schemes and the rise of private philanthropic aid were important alternatives to the traditional sources of funding iv)Commodity social marketing:Commodity social marketing campaigns led to an increase in condom use among low-income earners v)The use of vouchers:Issuing of HIV-test vouchers to the poor was an important demand-side financing approach vi)Earmark HIV taxes:Several countries in Africa have introduced‘special HIV’taxes to boost domestic HIV ***:The lessons learned from financing HIV programs suggest t

In recent years, utilization of renewable sources for biofuel production is gaining popularity due to growing greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions which causes global warming. There has been a great effort in exploring alternative feedstock for bioethanol production. In this context, the production of third-generation bioethanol from macroalgae has emerged as an alternative feedstock to food crop-based starch and lignocellulosic *** is mainly due to the fast growth rate of macroalgae, no competition with agricultural land, high carbohydrate content and relatively simple processing steps compared to lignocellulosic biomass. This review paper provides an insight of recent innovative approaches for macroalgae bioethanol production, including conventional and advanced hydrolysis process to produce fermentable sugar, various fermentation technologies, economic analysis and life cycle assessment. With the current technology maturity, efficient utilization of macroalgae as sustainable source for bioethanol and other value-added chemicals production could be achieved in the near future.

This paper interest rates （i.e., the recent macroeconomic presents an IS-MP model with the term structure of yield curve） and discusses some of its applications to activities and policy issues. Specifically, the model is employed to explain （1） why a steepening yield curve may signal the subsequent economic expansion, （2） why long-term zero interest rate policy （ZIRP） may not completely avoid recessions, but disables the yield curve from being inverted to signal the following economic recession, （3） how Operation Twist （OT） may help ease the recession, in particular, under ZIRP, and what limit it may face.

Emerging evidence and perspectives have pointed towards the heart playing an important role in hepatorenal syndrome(HRS),outside of conventional understanding that liver cirrhosis is traditionally considered the sole origin of a cascade of pathophysiological mechanisms directly affecting the kidneys in this *** the absence of established heart disease,cirrhotic cardiomyopathy may occur more frequently in those with liver cirrhosis and kidney *** is a specific form of cardiac dysfunction characterized by blunted contractile responsiveness to stress stimuli and altered diastolic relaxation with electrophysiological *** the clinical description of these potential cardiac-related complications of the liver,the role of the heart has traditionally been an overlooked aspect of circulatory dysfunction in *** from a physiological sense,temporality(prior onset)of cardiorenal interactions in HRS and positive effects stemming from portosystemic shunting demonstrated an important role of the heart in the development and progression of kidney dysfunction in cirrhotic *** this review,we discuss current concepts surrounding how the heart may influence the development and progression of HRS,and the role of systemic inflammation and endothelial dysfunction causing circulatory dysfunction within this *** temporality of heart and kidney dysfunction in HRS will be *** a subgroup of patients who receive portosystemic shunting,the dynamics of cardiorenal interactions following treatment is *** research to determine the unknowns in this topic is anticipated,hopefully to further clarify the intricacies surrounding the liver-heart-kidney connection and improve strategies for management.

Introduction:Land use/land cover change can affect the ecological processes of an area such as hydrological *** change in the condition of water resources of an area could be a good indicator of changes in ecosystem function as a result of altered land use/land *** expansion in central Ethiopia is one of the recent land use/land cover changes causing controversy on its potential ecological *** study was designed to evaluate effects of three adjacent land uses/land covers,*** land,grassland and Eucalyptus woodlot on surface runoff in Meja River watershed,central ***:The rainfall amount at each study catchment was collected using the rain gauge installed to record daily rainfall *** three land use/land cover types in each study catchment were selected for comparison as *** replications of each land use/land cover were used forming a total of 12 runoff *** rainfall and runoff data were collected twice a day for 91 ***:The study found that land use/land cover significantly affects surface runoff generated from the *** runoff was recorded from cultivated *** was no significant difference on runoff volume between grassland and Eucalyptus ***:This shows that expansion of Eucalyptus on grassland could not have significant impact on surface runoff generation but if planted on previously farmland could reduce surface runoff.

BACKGROUND Critical time intervention(CTI)is an evidence-based model of practice that is time-limited and aims to provide support for most susceptible individuals during a transition *** To examine the significance of fostering the mental health of diabetes patients through CTI using the scoping review *** As part of the scoping review process,we followed the guidelines established by the Joanna Briggs *** search databases were Google Scholar,PubMed,Scopus,PsycINFO,Reference Citation Analysis(https://***/),and Cochrane *** these databases,77 articles were retrieved with the aid of carefully selected search ***,19 studies were selected after two reviewers appraised the full texts to ensure that they are all eligible for inclusion,while 54 papers were *** This study revealed that diabetic patients who had experienced homelessness were at higher risk of being diagnosed with mental illness and that social support services are impactful in the management of the comorbidity of diabetes and mental health *** addition,this review reveals that CTI is impactful in enhancing the mental health of homeless patients during the transitional period from the hospital through social support *** CTI is a promising intervention for alleviating mental health symptoms in homeless *** studies are needed across the globe,involving both hospitalized and community-based patients,to determine how clinically effectively CTI is in managing the mental health of diabetics.

Molecular dynamics simulations have been extensively used to study phonons and gain insight,but direct comparisons to experimental data are often difficult,due to a lack of accurate empirical interatomic potentials for different *** a result,this issue has become a major barrier to realizing the promise associated with advanced atomistic-level modeling ***,we present a general method for specifically optimizing empirical interatomic potentials from ab initio inputs for the study of phonon transport properties,thereby resulting in phonon optimized *** method uses a genetic algorithm to directly fit the empirical parameters of the potential to the key properties that determine whether or not the atomic level dynamics and most notably the phonon transport are described properly.
