Since 2015, community forests have been promoted in Togo as an alternative to protect areas from degradation and as a means of contributing to forest landscape restoration. The study focuses on the Nakpadjouak Community Forest (NCF) in Tami (Togo, West Africa) which contributes to community forests sustainable management. It aims in (i) mapping forest ecosystems and analysing their dynamic and (ii) characterizing the floristic diversity of the NCF. The ecosystems were mapped and their dynamic was evaluated based on Google Earth images of 2014 and 2020. Floristic and forestry inventories were carried out using the transect technique in a sample of 20 plots of 50 m × 20 m. The NCF was made up mainly by wooded/shrub savannahs (95.37%) and croplands/fallow (4.63%) in 2014. These two land use types undergone changes over the 6 years prior to 2020. By 2020, the NCF had 3 land use types: wooded/shrub savannahs (77.59%), open forest/wooded savannahs (22.23%), and croplands/fallows (0.18%). A total of 89 plant species belonging to 70 genera and 28 families were recorded within the NCF. The dominant species are: Heteropogon contortus (L.) ***. and Combretum collinum Fresen. followed by Pteleopsissuberosa Engl. & Diels, Annona senegalensis Pers. The most common species are: Lannea acida ***. s.l., A. senegalensis, Vitellaria paradoxa *** subsp. paradoxa, C. collinum and Acacia dudgeonii Craib ex Holland. Due to its small area of just 40 hectares and its diverse plant life, this community forest of Savannahs Region is a significant biodiversity hotspot and warrants conservation efforts.

This study focuses on the landscape dynamics of the savannahs’ region in the far north of Togo. Based on a literature review and satellite images analysis using GIS and remote sensing, the study aims to ascertain the effects of anthropogenic threats on the forest coverage of the Savannahs’ Region between 1984 to 2020. The objective is to clarify the dynamics of land use in the region from 1984 to 2000 and from 2000 to 2020. The findings indicate a significant decline in forest coverage within the region from 1984 to 2020, a trend attributed to land use patterns. Dry forests in the Savannah region are largely converted to farmlands, housing, dry savannahs or agroforestry parks, leading to a steady reduction in forest areas.

蛋白质含量在小麦籽粒的不同部位差异很大,从外层到内层呈现先上升后下降的单峰曲线分布,在糊粉层含量最高。然而,导致此空间分布模式形成的机制尚未明确。一种假说为籽粒不同部位的底物供应能力不同,从而导致蛋白积累差异的产生;另一种假说是蛋白编码基因调控的蛋白质合成能力在不同部位存在差异。本研究通过激光捕获显微切割技术分离糊粉层,外胚乳,中胚乳,内胚乳和转移细胞的细胞,并从这些组织中提取RNA,进行籽粒不同部位基因表达模式的分析。同时,运用冷冻切片机将不同灌浆期籽粒分成种皮+糊粉层、外胚乳、中胚乳和内胚乳四个部分,进行游离氨基酸和蛋白质氨基酸空间分布的分析。结果表明胚乳中存在的蛋白质梯度从花后19天开始显现,随着灌浆期的进行而加剧,不同层次之间的差异在花后25天更加显著。籽粒中蛋白质的梯度分布与前期游离氨基酸的分布相一致,而与贮藏蛋白编码基因表达模式不符,表明蛋白质空间分布的形成受氨基酸底物供应的影响而非贮藏蛋白编码基因转录速率的限制。基于氨基酸在蛋白质合成中的重要性,研究进一步明确了氨基酸在籽粒中的运输途径——灌浆早期胚乳腔中的氨基酸通过糊粉层运输至胚乳;灌浆晚期则主要依靠转移细胞途径。此外,分别设置了两个氮肥追施时期,在倒三叶(TL3,拔节期)和倒一叶(TL1)追施氮肥,以阐明氮肥对籽粒蛋白质空间分布的调控机制。结果表明追氮时期后移通过调控氨基酸的供应及外层贮藏蛋白基因表达而提升籽粒外层的蛋白质含量。该结果有助于更加全面地了解小麦籽粒中蛋白质合成机制和氨基酸转运途径,为通过调控籽粒蛋白空间分布而改善籽粒品质提供理论基础,并为优质专用小麦的生产提供了靶标。

Cultural landscapes all over the world harbor species communities that are taxonomically and functionally *** Eastern Europe,but also in many other regions of the world,the conservation of this farmland biodiversity is threatened by land use intensification and *** order to counteract the negative effects of land use change in such landscapes,a thorough understanding of the functional relationships between species and their environment is *** this study,we investigated the relationship of functional traits of butterfly and bird communities and environmental conditions in 120 sites in traditional farmlands of southern Transylvania,***,we compared taxonomic diversity(i.e.,Shannon diversity)with functional diversity(i.e.,functional dispersion),and second,we linked species traits to environmental variables by performing RLQ *** traits indicating reproduction,movement,and feeding behavior related with environmental variables describing heterogeneity,amount of woody vegetation,and topography at three different spatial *** found positive relationships between taxonomic and functional diversity,as well as strong linkages between species traits and environmental conditions for both ***,butterfly composition was most strongly influenced by land use type and life-history *** composition was most strongly related to the amount of woody vegetation and nesting and foraging *** conclude that maintaining the typical features of traditional farming landscapes,especially a small-scale heterogeneity in arable land and gradients of woody vegetation cover,would be desirable in order to sustain a high functional diversity in southern Transylvania in the future.

The EIP-Agri multiactor approach was exemplified during a 3-day workshop with 63 project participants from the EU H2020 funded project“Redesigning European cropping systems based on species MIXtures”.The objective was to share firsthand experience of participatory research among researchers who were mostly not familiar with this *** participants were divided into smaller multidisciplinary groups and given the opportunity to interact with representatives from eight actor positions in the value chain of the agrifood cooperative Terrena located in Western *** four stages of the workshop were:(1)key actor interviews,(2)sharing proposed solutions for overcoming barriers,and(3)developing possible interdisciplinary *** of frustration were recorded serving both as a motivation for group members to become more aware of the scientific concerns and practices of their colleagues,as well as a recognition that some researchers have better skills integrating qualitative approaches than ***,the workshop format was an effective way to gain a common understanding of the pertinent issues that need to be addressed to meet overall multiactorapproach *** with the actor networks was identified and emphasized as a means to overcome existing barriers between academia and practice in order to coproduce a shared vision of the benefits of species mixture benefits.

世界各地目前已广泛确立和开展电视胸腔镜手术（video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery,VATS）肺叶切除术。此前,该术式是否能够作为癌症治疗手术以及能否完成彻底的淋巴结清扫还存有争议。虽然目前仍缺乏适当的随机研究,但人们普遍认为胸腔镜手术治疗癌症的效果至少不亚于传统的开胸手术。有几篇论文的结论称两术式的存活率没有显著差异,而且VATS结果可能更好[1-3]。

Influence of Soil Types on Establishment and Early Growth of Populus trichocarpa

When planning poplar plantations there are many factors to consider that can influence young plant development. In addition to soil preparation, vegetation management, protection against browsers, and plant-type, it is important to have information on how soil properties influence young plant development. Comparisons of establishment and growth in different soils are complicated as experimental sites often are geographically distant where temperature, precipitation and vegetation can vary, thus complicate the analysis. In this case study, a new approach of studying growth of different soil at one experimental site are undertaken by translocating agricultural soils, a silty clay loam and a sandy soil, and common forest soil types, forest moraine soil and forest peat to a single experimental site, thus guaranteeing identical climatic conditions. In all soils, transplanted P. trichocarpa cuttings initially developed in to plants. After 4 weeks though, plants grown in forest peat stopped their growth while plants in the other soils gradually continued their growth with no evidence that soil types influenced above ground plant development. Unlike above-ground growth, root growth and morphology were influenced by soil texture with more root growth occurring if soils have sandy texture. These findings give advice to some of the limitations when planning for establishment of poplar plantations either at agricultural or at forest land.
