The development of highly active and cost-effective hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） catalysts is of vital importance to addressing global energy issues. Here, a three-dimensional interconnected porous carbon nanofiber （PCNF） membrane has been developed and utilized as a support for active cobalt phosphide （COP） nanoparticles. This rationally designed self-supported HER catalyst has a lotus root-like multichannel structure, which provides several intrinsic advantages over conventional CNFs. The longitudinal channels can store the electrolyte and ensure fast ion and mass transport within the catalysts. Additionally, mesopores on the outer and inner carbon walls enhance ion and mass migration of the electrolyte to HER active CoP nanoparticles, thus shortening the ion transport distance and increasing the contact area between the electrolyte and the CoP nanoparticles. Moreover, the conductive carbon substrate provides fast electron transfer pathways by forming an integrated conductive network, which further ensures fast HER kinetics. As a result, the CoP/PCNF composites exhibit low onset-potentials （-20, -91, and -84 mV in 0.5 M H2SO4, 1 M PBS, and 1 M KOH, respectively）. These findings show that CoP/PCNF composites are promising self-supporting and high-performance all-pH range HER catalysts.

Metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived functional carbon matrices have recently attracted considerable attention as energy-storage materials. However, the development of MOF-derived carbon materials with hierarchical structures, capable of thoroughly preventing the “shuttling᾿of polysulfides, is still a major challenge. Herein, we synthesized cobalt nanoparticle-containing porous carbon polyhedra with in situ grown N-doped carbon nanotube (CNT) backbone (NCCNT-Co), using zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) as starting material. The obtained NCCNT-Co, with interconnected N-doped CNTs on both inner and outer surfaces, possesses an integrated conductive network, which can further accelerate the transport of electrons/ions inside the whole sulfur cathode. The mesoporous structure derived from the ZIF-67 matrix and the densely immobilized CNTs, coupled with the homogeneously doped N atoms and Co nanoparticles, can efficiently trap lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) by physical confinement and chemical interactions. Furthermore, the hierarchical structure of the porous carbon polyhedra enables a high sulfur loading of up to 76 wt.% and can also buffer the volume changes of active sulfur during the lithiation process. As a result, the NCCNT-Co-S cathode delivers a high initial specific capacity of 1,300 mAh·g−1 at 0.1 C, along with a high capacity of 860 mAh·g−1 after 500 cycles at 1 C, with an extremely low capacity decay of 0.024% per cycle.

NiS nanoparticles (NPs) with excellent electrochemical capacitance have attracted considerable attention as cost-effective energy-storage materials for supercapacitors in recent years. Preventing the aggregation and increasing the conductivity of NiS NPs are key to fully realizing their excellent electrochemical properties. In this work, NiS/N-doped carbon fiber aerogel (N-CFA) nanocomposites were obtained easily through the combination of polymerization, carbonization, and a one-step solvothermal reaction. N-CFA derived from polydopamine (PDA)-coated cotton wool was used as a template for the construction of hierarchical NiS/N-CFA nanocomposites, in which NiS NPs are uniformly immobilized on the surface of N-CFA. In this nanostructured system, N-CFA containing abundant nanofibers not only provides active regions for the growth of NiS NPs to prevent their aggregation, but also offers short pathways for the transport of electrons and ions. The electrochemical properties of the obtained NiS/N-CFA nanocomposites were investigated by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge–discharge, and alternating current impedance measurements. The optimized NiS/N-CFA nanocomposite exhibits a high specific capacitance of 1,612.5 F·g1at a charge/discharge current density of 1 A·g1and excellent rate capacitance retention of 66.7% at 20 A·g1. The excellent electrochemical properties of NiS/N-CFA nanocomposites make these materials promising electrode materials for supercapacitors. The amplitude-dependent ac susceptibility of high-temperature superconductors is shown to obey some empirical scaling relations. We try to analyze this behavior by extending a dc nonlinear response function of mixed state to the ac cases. The derived equations for critical current and ac susceptibility x(T) agree with the scaling relations of experimental data.

Understanding the local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys via machine learning potential

The local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys were in-depth understood using deep potential molecular dynamic(DPMD) simulation driven via machine learning to promote the development of Mg-La alloys. The robustness of the trained deep potential(DP) model was thoroughly evaluated through several aspects, including root-mean-square errors(RMSEs), energy and force data, and structural information comparison results;the results indicate the carefully trained DP model is reliable. The component and temperature dependence of the local structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy was analyzed. The effect of Mg content in the system on the first coordination shell of the atomic pairs is the same as that of temperature. The pre-peak demonstrated in the structure factor indicates the presence of a medium-range ordered structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy, which is particularly pronounced in the 80at% Mg system and disappears at elevated temperatures. The density, self-diffusion coefficient, and shear viscosity for the Mg-La liquid alloy were predicted via DPMD simulation, the evolution patterns with Mg content and temperature were subsequently discussed, and a database was established accordingly. Finally, the mixing enthalpy and elemental activity of the Mg-La liquid alloy at 1200 K were reliably evaluated,which provides new guidance for related studies.

The multi-class classification of images is a pivotal challenge within the realm of image processing. As the volume of visual data continues to expand, there is a burgeoning interest in harnessing the unique capabilities of quantum computation to augment the efficiency of classification tasks. However, many existing methods for training quantum image multi-classifiers parallel classical machine learning techniques, where the requisite circuit measurements increase linearly with the volume of training data. This work introduces a novel approach for training a quantum image multi-classifier based on the quantum search algorithm. We have meticulously conducted rigorous experiments on a handwritten digit dataset, a classic benchmark in the field. The results have been meticulously compared with previous works, and the comparative analysis not only validates the efficiency of our proposed approach, requiring only O(N/b) measurements during training, but also highlights a significant quadratic speedup of the algorithm.

Numerical simulations of the flow and heat transfer characteristics of four shell-and-tube molten salt electric heaters with different perforation rates was ***-and-tube electric heaters have the same geometry and tube arrangement,and all of them use single segmental baffles,but there exist four different baffle openings（φ）,i.e.,0%,2.52%,4.06%,and 6.31%.The results indicated that the reasonable baffle opening could significantly reduce the shell-side pressure drop,effectively decreasing the shell-side flow dead zone *** can eliminate the local high-temperature phenomenon on the surface of electric heating tubes,but the heat transfer coefficient is slightly *** perforated schemes significantly reduce shell-side pressure drop compared to the baseline solution without open *** particular,the φ=6.31% scheme exhibits the optimal performance among all the schemes,with a maximum reduction of up to 50.50% in shell-side pressure drop relative to the unopened holes *** heat transfer coefficient is the highest for φ=0%,exhibiting a range of5.26% to 5.73%,5.14% to 5.99%,and 7.31% to 8.54% higher than φ=2.52%,4.06%,and 6.31%,respectively,within the calculated *** composite index h/（Δp）1/3was higher for all open-hole solutions than that for the unopened-hole *** best overall performance was for φ=6.31%,which improved the composite index by15.29% to 17.18% over the unopened-hole solution.
