Two rectangular-shaped lakes,Lake Hulun and Lake Buir,located at the boundary between China and Mongolia,only c.75 km apart and therefore experiencing similar wind fields,have been studied based on satellite images and field surveys in order to compare their geomorphological and sedimentological *** wind-driven hydrodynamics,which have a significant effect on the development of littoral landforms and on sediment distribution,have been discussed for the two similar lakes that experienced a prevailing wind perpendicular to their long axis.A conceptual model related to wind-driven water bodies and sediment distribution is ***-influenced to wave-dominated deltas,beaches,spits,and eolian dune deposits develop around these two lakes,with a strikingly similar distribution *** features locally inform the longshore drift and help reconstruct the water circulation induced by wind *** the NW prevailing wind regime,the spits developed on the SW coast with a NW—SE extension,which was influenced by the NW—SE longshore *** same influence was observed in the delta extension in the NE *** differences lie in the presence of fan deltas in the NW region of Lake Hulun,but not in Lake ***,the width of the beach and eolian deposits on the downwind coast of Lake Hulun is three times greater than that of Lake Buir which were caused by the differences in sediment supply and wind fetch between the two *** Hulun and Lake Buir provide two reliable examples to understand the relationship among the wind field,provenance,hydrodynamics,landforms,and asymmetrical distribution of clastics in elongated *** also represent relevant modern analogs,which may also be of guiding significance to wind-driven sand body prediction in lacustrine basins.

This study proposed a new real-time manufacturing process monitoring method to monitor and detect process shifts in manufacturing *** real-time production process monitoring is critical in today’s smart *** more robust the monitoring model,the more reliable a process is to be under *** the past,many researchers have developed real-time monitoring methods to detect process shifts ***,thesemethods have limitations in detecting process shifts as quickly as possible and handling various data volumes and *** this paper,a robust monitoring model combining Gated Recurrent Unit(GRU)and Random Forest(RF)with Real-Time Contrast(RTC)called GRU-RF-RTC was proposed to detect process shifts *** effectiveness of the proposed GRU-RF-RTC model is first evaluated using multivariate normal and nonnormal distribution ***,to prove the applicability of the proposed model in a realmanufacturing setting,the model was evaluated using real-world normal and non-normal *** results demonstrate that the proposed GRU-RF-RTC outperforms other methods in detecting process shifts quickly with the lowest average out-of-control run length(ARL1)in all synthesis and real-world problems under normal and non-normal *** experiment results on real-world problems highlight the significance of the proposed GRU-RF-RTC model in modern manufacturing process monitoring *** result reveals that the proposed method improves the shift detection capability by 42.14%in normal and 43.64%in gamma distribution problems.

Since their introduction by James Dixon in 2010,data lakes get more and more attention,driven by the promise of high reusability of the stored data due to the schema-on-read *** on this idea,several additional requirements were discussed in literature to improve the general usability of the concept,like a central metadata catalog including all provenance information,an overarching data governance,or the integration with(high-performance)processing *** the necessity for a logical and a physical organisation of data lakes in order to meet those requirements is widely recognized,no concrete guidelines are yet *** most common architecture implementing this conceptual organisation is the zone architecture,where data is assigned to a certain zone depending on the degree of *** paper discusses how FAIR Digital Objects can be used in a novel approach to organize a data lake based on data types instead of zones,how they can be used to abstract the physical implementation,and how they empower generic and portable processing capabilities based on a provenance-based approach.

Recently,it was discovered that the entropy-conserving/dissipative high-order split-form discontinuous Galerkin discretizations have robustness issues when trying to solve the sim-ple density wave propagation example for the compressible Euler *** issue is related to missing local linear stability,i.e.,the stability of the discretization towards per-turbations added to a stable base *** is strongly related to an anti-diffusion mech-anism,that is inherent in entropy-conserving two-point fluxes,which are a key ingredi-ent for the high-order discontinuous Galerkin *** this paper,we investigate if pressure equilibrium preservation is a remedy to these recently found local linear stability issues of entropy-conservative/dissipative high-order split-form discontinuous Galerkin methods for the compressible Euler *** equilibrium preservation describes the property of a discretization to keep pressure and velocity constant for pure density wave *** present the full theoretical derivation,analysis,and show corresponding numerical results to underline our *** addition,we characterize numerical fluxes for the Euler equations that are entropy-conservative,kinetic-energy-preserving,pressure-equilibrium-preserving,and have a density flux that does not depend on the *** source code to reproduce all numerical experiments presented in this article is available online(https://***/10.5281/zenodo.4054366).

We develop error-control based time integration algorithms for compressible fluid dynam-ics(CFD)applications and show that they are efficient and robust in both the accuracy-limited and stability-limited *** on discontinuous spectral element semidis-cretizations,we design new controllers for existing methods and for some new embedded Runge-Kutta *** demonstrate the importance of choosing adequate controller parameters and provide a means to obtain these in *** compare a wide range of error-control-based methods,along with the common approach in which step size con-trol is based on the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy(CFL)*** optimized methods give improved performance and naturally adopt a step size close to the maximum stable CFL number at loose tolerances,while additionally providing control of the temporal error at tighter *** numerical examples include challenging industrial CFD applications.
