Uterine cervical carcinoma treated with chemoradiotherapy: impact of three-month MRi follow-up on clinical management and outcome

Aim:The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of MRi performed three months after treatment on further follow-up interventions and outcome in patients with uterine cervical carcinoma treated with definitive ***:sixty consecutive women diagnosed with uterine cervical cancer FiGO 2009 stage iB1-iVA during 2011-2012 treated with definitive chemoradiotherapy/radiotherapy with curative intent at the Department of Gynaecological Oncology at Karolinska University Hospital were retrospectively included.A review of MRi reports and medical records with focus on follow-up interventions associated to imaging was ***:On follow-up MRi three months post treatment,29/60 women had complete remission(mrCR),24/60 women had partial remission(mrPR)and 7/60 had progressive disease(mrPD).in patients with mrCR,no additional procedures were *** group with mrPR had 27 additional MRis,3 PET/CT examinations and 9 biopsy procedures,none leading to diagnosis of residual *** control rate was 96%after 6.5 months(median).No patient had cervical relapse only;2/53 had cervical relapse in combination with non-regional lymph nodes and distant *** was no statistically significant difference in overall survival between patients with mrCR and mrPR(HR=2.2,P=0.21).Conclusion:Patients with residual changes on MRi at three months post treatment have a low risk for locoregional *** this is not recognised,follow-up MRi results in unnecessary additional procedures with low impact on treatment *** studies are needed regarding the most appropriate imaging modality and timing of post-treatment evaluation.

intracellular codelivery of anti-inflammatory drug and anti-miR 155 to treat inflammatory disease

Atherosclerosis(As) is a lipid-driven chronic inflammatory disease occurring at the arterial subendothelial space. Macrophages play a critical role in the initiation and development of As. Herein,targeted codelivery of anti-miR 155 and anti-inflammatory baicalein is exploited to polarize macrophages toward M2 phenotype, inhibit inflammation and treat As. The codelivery system consists of a carrier-free strategy(drug-delivering-drug, DDD), fabricated by loading anti-miR155 on baicalein nanocrystals,named as baicalein nanorods(BNRs), followed by sialic acid coating to target macrophages. The codelivery system, with a diameter of 150 nm, enables efficient intracellular delivery of anti-miR155 and polarizes M1 to M2, while markedly lowers the level of inflammatory factors in vitro and in vivo. in particular, intracellular fate assay reveals that the codelivery system allows for sustained drug release over time after internalization. Moreover, due to prolonged blood circulation and improved accumulation at the As plaque, the codelivery system significantly alleviates As in animal model by increasing the artery lumen diameter, reducing blood pressure, promoting M2 polarization, inhibiting secretion of inflammatory factors and decreasing blood lipids. Taken together, the codelivery could potentially be used to treat vascular inflammation.

increasing rural household income and reducing poverty rank among indonesia’s top development *** rural transformation is one strategic policy framework to achieve these *** the last three decades,agricultural production has shifted from low-value food crops to high-value commodities,such as horticulture,estate crops,and *** studies have analyzed rural transformation in indonesia at the national level,but information on the magnitudes of impact across regions remains *** study aims to analyze the changes in rural transformation at a regional level in the past two *** research utilizes secondary data from statistics indonesia(BPs),covering 34 provinces from 2000 to 2020,analyzed using descriptive and panel data regression *** results show an increasing trend in the share of high-value agriculture(RT_(1))and rural non-farm employment(RT_(2)).Both RT_(1)and RT_(2)are positively associated with the growth of rural household income and a lower poverty ***,the speed of structural transformation(sT),RT_(1),RT_(2),rural income growth,and poverty reduction vary across *** research implies that improving rural income and reducing poverty should be done by integrating policies,i.e.,promoting highvalue agriculture and expanding rural non-farm *** attention should also be given to provinces with slow growth in sT,RT_(1),RT_(2),and rural household income.

Celiac disease markers in patients with liver diseases: A single center large scale screening study

AiM:To study the coincidence of celiac disease, we tested its serological markers in patients with various liver ***:Large-scale screening of serum antibodies against tissue transglutaminase (tTG), and deamidated gliadin using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and serum antibodies against endomysium using immunohistochemistry, in patients with various liver diseases (n = 962) and patients who underwent liver transplantation (OLTx, n = 523) was performed. The expression of tTG in liver tissue samples of patients simultaneously suffering from celiac disease and from various liver diseases using immunohistochemistry was carried out. The final diagnosis of celiac disease was confirmed by histological analysis of small-intestinal biopsy. REsULTs:We found that 29 of 962 patients (3%) with liver diseases and 5 of 523 patients (0.8%) who underwent OLTx were seropositive for igA and igG anti-tTG antibodies. However, celiac disease was biopsy-diagnosed in 16 patients:4 with autoimmune hepatitis type Ⅰ, 3 with Wilson's disease, 3 with celiac hepatitis, 2 with primary sclerosing cholangitis, 1 with primary biliary cirrhosis, 1 with Budd-Chiari syndrome, 1 with toxic hepatitis, and 1 with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. Unexpectedly, the highest prevalence of celiac disease was found in patients with Wilson's disease (9.7%), with which it is only rarely associated. On the other hand, no OLTx patients were diagnosed with celiac disease in our study. A pilot study of the expression of tTG in liver tissue using immunohistochemistry documented the overexpression of this molecule in endothelial cells and periportal hepatocytes of patients simultaneously suffering from celiac disease and toxic hepatitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis or autoimmune hepatitis type Ⅰ. CONCLUsiON:We suggest that screening for celiac disease may be beneficial not only in patients with associated liver diseases, but also in patients with Wilson's disease.

The existing mechanized oil palm harvester is claimed to be unsuccessful due to its inefficiency to harvest Fresh Fruit Bunch(FFB).it takes a lot of time compared to the conventional harvesting method,using human *** a study was carried out using Denavit and Hartenberg(D-H)approach to automate the five Degrees of Freedom(DOF)harvester *** general objective was to reduce the number of workers required for harvesting as well as to provide comfortable ergonomic for the operator of oil palm *** D-H’s convention was used for selecting frames of reference in robotics application which has become the standard way of representing robots and modeling their *** this study,the forward kinematics and inverse kinematics were used to deduce joint angles variables while the conventional Jacobian was used for motion velocity *** formulated inverse equations were tested manually on the harvester with given locations to obtain deduced joint *** results were θ_(1)=129.64°,θ_(3)=180°,θ_(4)=90°,which were quite ***,the kinematics analysis of harvester arm automation was done successfully.

Growth mechanisms of Ag and Cu nanodendrites via Galvanic replacement reactions

Dendritic silver and copper crystals were produced via Galvanic replacement reactions on zinc and aluminum plates, respectively. The growth orientations of these metals were determined using electron microscopy. The results showed that a fast crystal growth associated with a high concentration of metal cations led to kinetically controlled growth along the axes of the cubic close-packed structures. However, a slow growth rate resulted in thermodynamically controlled growth along the [111] axis. The crystal growth was not found to rely upon the direct deposition of metal cations at crystallographic sites on crystal facets, but instead, hydrated metal cations deposited on the crystal surface to form an amorphous coating layer, followed by the reduction of metal cations and crystallization at the crystal/coating interface. Twin defects and stacking faults were often observed across the whole particle and commonly observed1/3{422} diffraction spots were explained by stacking faults rather than by the possible presence of any superstructures. The present work offers evidences to claim that both the crystal growth rate and Coulomb interaction between negatively charged crystal surface and metal cations play an important role in the formation of metal dendrites in replacement reactions.

Pregnancy is a period of major transformations in a woman’s life;increased stress,and mood and sleep disorders are *** review evaluates mindfulness interventions during pregnancy and their ability to help manage stress,anxiety,depression,emotional regulation,level of mindfulness and sleep quality.A search of English language scientific literature relevant to mindfulness interventions for pregnant women was conducted using PubMed,scopus and Web of science,without restriction on publication *** criteria were randomized clinical trials with pregnant women,using mindfulness as an intervention for at least three weeks,in one of our main areas of interest,and using only validated scales to measure *** hundred and thirty studies were identified in our searches of research databases,and thirteen were included in our *** found a large diversity of mindfulness programs,heterogeneity among the instruments used to evaluate outcomes,and inconsistency in the gestational periods used in the *** interventions were beneficial for stress,anxiety and *** was also effective when applied in pregnant women with a history of depression or experiencing *** emotional regulation and the level of mindfulness,there were signs of improvement,but more studies are *** of the studies evaluated sleep *** review provides information about current mindfulness programs,an overview of the effects of mindfulness interventions,a description of the measurements used so far,and recommendations for developing highquality mindfulness protocols for pregnant women.

in the commercial poultry chain, a great diversity of production systems is found to meet the needs of the market, since the consumer has become increasingly aware of the importance of the relationship between diet and health, which has encouraged researchers and the food industry to develop products enriched with nutrients capable of producing beneficial effects on health. There has been increasing progress in research aimed at including viable alternative products, such as plant extracts, in poultry diets, which have been shown to have an antimicrobial and antioxidant action and to promote improvements in animal performance. Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) is a popular medicinal herb, which shows a wide range of pharmacological properties, such as antioxidant, antiangiogenic, antitumor, antivenom, antinflammatory, antimicrobial, antiproliferative, antiprotozoal, and antiaging. The use of turmeric in poultry production has been reported by many researchers. The aim of this review is to describe and report the most recent research on the use of turmeric as feed supplement for birds and so its effect on animal health and welfare.
