Context: The prognostic significance of expression of V-Crk avian sarcoma virus CT10 oncogene homolog-like (CRKL) and Protein kinase CK2 β in endometroid carcinoma is not fully clarified. Aim: To assess the prognostic values and clinicopathological roles of CRKL and CK2 β expression in endometroid carcinoma by correlation their expression levels with clinicopathological parameters, response to therapy, and recurrence of the tumor and patients survival. settings: Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University, and Mansoura University. Methods: CRKL and CK2 β expressions were evaluated in 50 paraffin blocks EC patients that were followed up for 5 years. The relationship between their level of expressions, clinicopathological criteria and prognosis of patients was analyzed. statistical analysis used: sPss 22.0 for windows (sPss Inc., Chicago, IL, UsA) and MedCalc windows (software bvba 13, Ostend, Belgium). Results: High expression of CRKL and CK was positively correlated with higher grade of the tumor (p = 0.004 and 0.006 respectively), presence of L.N metastases (p = 0.009 and 0.003 respectively), presence of distant metastases (p = 0.029 and 0.003 respectively) and advanced FIGO stage (p 0.001), poor response to therapy (p = 0.046 and 0.005 respectively), higher incidence of recurrence of the tumor after therapy (p = 0.004 and 0.048 respectively), higher incidence of cancer progression p = 0.018 and 0.044 respectively), poor PFs (p = 0.008 and 0.013 respectively), and Os rates

Despite the substantial burden posed by osteoarthritis(OA)globally,difffcult challenges remain in achieving early OA diagnosis and adopting effective disease-modifying *** this study,we use a biomolecular approach to address these limitations by creating an inherently theranostic molecular beacon whose imaging and therapeutic capabilities are activated by early pathological changes in *** platform comprised(1)a peptide linker substrate for metalloproteinase-13(MMP-13),a pathological protease upregulated in OA,which was conjugated to(2)a porphyrin moiety with inherent multimodal imaging,photodynamic therapy,and drug delivery capabilities,and(3)a quencher that silences the porphyrin’s endogenous ffuorescence and photoreactivity when the beacon is *** diseased OA tissue with upregulated MMP-13 expression,this porphyrin molecular beacon(PP_(MMP13B))was expected to undergo sequence-speciffc cleavage,yielding porphyrin fragments with restored ffuorescence and photoreactivity that could,respectively,be used as a readout of MMP13 activity within the joint for early OA imaging and disease-targeted photodynamic *** study focused on the synthesis and characterization of PPMMP13B,followed by a proof-of-concept evaluation of its OA imaging and drug delivery *** solution,PP_(MMP13B)demonstrated 90%photoactivity quenching in its intact form and robust MMP-13 activation,yielding a 13-fold increase in ffuorescence *** vitro,PP_(MMP13B)was readily uptaken and activated in an MMP-13 cell expressiondependent manner in primary OA synoviocytes without exuding signiffcant *** translated into effective intra-articular cartilage(to a 50μm depth)and synovial uptake and activation of PP_(MMP13B)in a destabilization of the medial meniscus OA mouse model,yielding strong ffuorescence contrast(7-fold higher signal than background)at the diseased joint *** results provide the foundation for further exploration of porphyrin mol

Changes in the sucrose metabolism of Cur-cuma longa *** were studied under treatment with different triazole compounds viz.,triadimefon(TDM)and propiconazole(PCZ).Plants were treated with TDM at 15mg/L and PCZ at 10mg/L separately by soil drenching on 80,110,and 140 days after planting(DAP).The plants were harvested randomly on 90,120,and 150DAP to determine the effect of both the triazoles on sucrose metabolizing enzymes and phenol *** sucrose metabolism was studied by analyzing sucrose metaboliz-ing enzymes like sucrose synthase and sucrose phosphate *** the analyses were assayed in leaves and tubers of both control and treated *** was found that both of the triazole compounds had profound effects on these parameters.

The present work aims at studying the effect of Ultra-Violet/Ozone (UV/O3) irradiation of cotton fabrics on their interaction with chitosan/citric acid based formulation and, the onset of this on the ability of treated fabrics to remove heavy metal ions from their aqueous solutions. To achieve the goal, the cotton fabrics were preirradiated for 90 minutes using UV/O3 as radiation source. The irradiated and the unirrdadiated cotton fabrics were submitted to finishing formulation consisting essentially of chitosan as a finishing agent and citric acid as crosslinking agent in combination with sodium hypophosphite (sHP) as a catalyst. Finishing formulation containing different concentrations of chitosan (0 - 4) along with citric acid (8 g/l) and sHP (4 g/l) were used and the interaction of chitosan with the cotton fabric was assessed through nitrogen measurement. The preirradiated and chemically finished fabrics vis-à-vis the unirrdadiated fabrics were examined for metal ion removal. Results conclude that the preirradiated cotton fabrics exhibit higher nitrogen content than the unirrdadiated fabrics. The same holds true for heavy metal removal, exemplified by Zn2+ and Cd2+ ions from their aqueous solutions. That is, preirradiated fabrics containing chitosan display higher percent heavy metal removal than their unirrdadiated mates.

In this study, we examine the hydrodynamic characteristics of three rows of vertical slotted wall breakwaters in which the front and middle walls are permeable and partially immersed in a water channel of constant depth, whereas the third wall is impermeable. The wave–structure interaction and flow behavior of this type of breakwater arrangement are complicated and must be analyzed before breakwaters can be appropriately designed. To study the hydrodynamic breakwater performance, we developed a mathematical model based on the eigenfunction expansion method and a least squares technique for predicting wave interaction with three rows of vertical slotted wall breakwaters. We theoretically examined the wave transmission, reflection, energy loss, wave runup, and wave force under normal regular waves. Comparisons with experimental measurements show that the mathematical model results adequately reproduce most of the important features. The results of this investigation provide a better understanding of the hydrodynamic performance of triple-row vertical slotted wall breakwaters.

The Hepatoprotective Effects of solanum Incanum on Acetaminophen-lnduced Hepatotoxicity in Guinea Pigs

solanum incanum, a shrubby herb, is widely distributed and used as analgesic, antitoxic, and antispasmodic in folk medicine. In the present study, the protective effects of aqueous extract of s. incanum against acetaminophen induced acute liver damage were evaluated in guinea pigs. Animals were orally administered with s. incanum extract （50 and 100 mg/ kg bw） and silymarin （ 100 mg / kg bw） respectively for 6 days followed by acetaminophen administration （2 g / kg bw） at the 7th day. The results showed that the treatment with s. incanum extract significantly lowered the acetaminophen-induced serum levels of hepatic marker enzymes （AsT, ALT, and ALP）, Liver histopathology also showed that s. incanum extract reduced the incidence of liver lesions including the swelling of hepatic cells, lymphocytes infiltration, nucleus condensation, and hepatic necrosis induced by acetaminophen treatment in guinea pigs. The s. incanum extract at a dose of 100 mg / kg bw was more effective in suppressing the oxidative damage than the extract at a dose of 50 mg / kg bw. Therefore, the results of this study suggest that s. incanum extract could protect liver against the acetaminophen-induced oxidative damage.

Mostly based on assumptions derived from controlled-environment studies, predicted future atmospheric CO2 concentrations [CO2] are expected to have considerable impacts on carbon （C） turnover in agro-ecosystems. In order to allow the in situ examination of C-transformations in the plant-soil system of arable crop rotations under future [002], a free air carbon dioxide enrichment （FACE） experiment （550 μmol mol^-1 CO2） was started at Braunschweig, Germany in 1999. The crop rotation under investigation comprised winter barley, a cover crop （ryegrass）, sugar beets and winter wheat. Assessments of CO2 effects included the determination of above- and belowground biomass production, measurements of canopy CO2- and H2O- fluxes, soil microbial biomass and in situ soil respiration. The results obtained during the 1st crop rotation cycle （3 years） showed that for the selected crops elevated [CO2] entailed significant positive effects （P 〈 0.05） on aboveground （6%-14% stimulation） and belowground biomass production （up to 90% stimulation）, while canopy evapotranspiration was reduced. This resulted in increased soil water content. Also, depending on crop type and season, high CO2 stimulated in situ soil respiration （up to 30%）, while soil microbial biomass did not show significant respouses to elevated [CO2] during the first rotation cycle.
