To develop a convenient food formulation for supplying antioxidants,hyaluronic acid(HA)-based orally dis-integrating film(ODF)containing vitamin C(Vit C)and catechin(CAT)with various molar ratios(Vit C:CAT,1:0,1:0.2,1:0.4,1:0.6,1:0.8 and 1:1.0,by name of CAT0,CAT0.2,CAT0.4,CAT0.6,CAT0.8 and CAT1.0,respec-tively)were prepared,and the physico-chemical,and sensory properties of the films were *** addition,the release properties of the Vit C and CAT in the films were also *** the results,there was no sig-nificant difference in the moisture content among the films,but the thickness significantly increased with the CAT *** water vapor permeability(WVP)started decreasing at *** texture,the addition of CAT decreased tensile strength,and showed inverse relationship with film *** higher the CAT content was,the more brittle and fragile the texture obtained *** vitamin C content in the film significantly decreased as the CAT content increased,whereas the antioxidant effects continued to increase with CAT *** a sensory evaluation,CAT0.2 was the most preferred,followed by CAT0 and CAT0.4,and for those samples containing over 0.6 M ratio CAT,the acceptability dramatically *** on the above results,the most suitable molar ratio of Vit C:CAT was 1:*** a result of the analysis of the release pattern of the optimized ODF(CAT0.4),both Vit C and CAT exhibited rapid release of over 70%within 30 and 20 min,respectively,in all simulated body *** the prepared ODF can be considered as a suitable delivery formulation for convenient and fast-acting antioxidant.

Traditional iridium (Ir) oxide catalysts have faced significant limitations in water electrolysis, particularly under acidic conditions where instability and degradation severely restrict the efficiency of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). To overcome these challenges, this study successfully synthesized highly dispersed IrPtPdNi alloy nanoparticles on a graphene oxide support using a vertically moving reactor, demonstrating exceptional performance in water electrolysis. These nanoparticles, synthesized via a fast-moving bed pyrolysis method, combine iridium, platinum, palladium, and nickel. They exhibit lower overpotentials in OER and comparable performance in HER to commercial catalysts, while also offering enhanced stability. These results surpass the limitations of traditional catalysts, marking significant progress toward more efficient and sustainable hydrogen production technologies. This advancement is expected to contribute significantly to the development of sustainable energy systems by innovatively enhancing the performance of catalysts in the electrochemical water-splitting process.

Due to global warming, the need to secure an alternative resource has become more important nationally. With the high tidal range of up to 9.7 m on the west coast of Korea, numerous tidal current projects are being planned and constructed. To extract a significant quantity of power, a tidal current farm with a multi-arrangement is necessary in the ocean. The rotor, which initially converts the energy, is a very important component because it affects the efficiency of the entire system, and its performance is determined by various design variables. The power generation is strongly dependent on the size of the rotor and the incoming flow velocity. However, the interactions between devices also contribute significantly to the total power capacity. Therefore, rotor performance considering the interaction problems needs to be investigated for generating maximum power in a specific field. This paper documents a performance study of devices considering the interference between rotating rotors with axial, transverse and diagonal arrangements.

AIM:To evaluate clinical validity of the compression anastomosis ring(CARTM27) anastomosis in left-sided colonic resection. METHODS:A non-randomized prospective data collection was performed for patients undergoing an elective left-sided colon resection,followed by an anastomosis using the CARTM27 between November 2009 and January *** criteria of the use of the CARTM27 were anastomoses between the colon and at or above the intraperitoneal *** primary short-term clinical endpoint,rate of anastomotic leakage,and other clinical outcomes,including intraand postoperative complications,length of operation time and hospital stay,and the ring elimination time were evaluated. Salivary gland-specific transcriptomes of nine heteropteran insects with distinct feeding strategies (predaceous, hematophagous, and phytophagous) were analyzed and annotated to compare and identify the venom components as well as their expression profiles. The transcriptional abundance of venom genes was verified via quantitative real-time PCR. Hierarchical clustering of 30 representative differentially expressed venom genes from the nine heteropteran species revealed unique groups of salivary gland-specific genes depending on their feeding strategy. The commonly transcribed genes included a paralytic neurotoxin (arginine kinase), digestive enzymes (cathepsin and serine protease), an anti-inflammatory protein (cystatin), hexamerin, and an odorant binding protein. Both predaceous and hematophagous (bed bug) heteropteran species showed relatively higher transcription levels of genes encoding proteins involved in proteolysis and cytolysis, whereas phytophagous heteropterans exhibited little or no expression of these genes, but had a high expression of vitellogenin, a multifunctional allergen. Saliva proteomes from four representative species were also analyzed. All venom proteins identified via saliva proteome analysis were annotated using salivary gland transcriptome data. The proteomic expression profiles of venom proteins were in good agreement with the salivary gland-specific transcriptomic profiles. Our results indicate that profiling of the salivary gland transcriptome provides important information on the composition and evolutionary features of venoms depending on their feeding strategy.

OBJECTIVE: To find out the combination of the extracts from Paeonia lactiflora Pallas(PL), Rehmannia Glutinosa var. Purpurea Makino(RG), Perilla Frutescens var. Acuta Kudo(PF) to increase endometrial ***: Herbal medicines were extracted with boiling water and polysaccharides were *** examined the effect of PL, RG, and PF(PRP), a most effective herbal formula deduced from constitutive ingredient herbs of Antai Yin which is composed of PRP, on the leukemia inhibitory factor(LIF) expression and endometrial ***: The combination of the extracts from PRP induced the LIF expression in Ishikawa cells and increased the adhesion between Ishikawa and JAr cells. In addition, PRP-induced attachment of JAr cells onto Ishikawa cells and expression of adhesion molecules, ITGAV, ITGB5, CD44 s, and Lselectin, are significantly reduced by knock-down of LIF ***: Induced by the combination of the PRP extracts, the adhesion between trophoblast and endometrial cells are mediated by expression of LIF and adhesion molecules. Thus, we suggest the combination of the PRP extracts may be a novel therapy for enhancing embryo implantation rate.

A large-area high-power radio-frequency（RF） driven ion source was developed for positive and negative neutral beam injectors at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute（KAERI）. The RF ion source consists of a driver region, including a helical antenna and a discharge chamber, and an expansion region. RF power can be transferred at up to 10 kW with a fixed frequency of 2 MHz through an optimized RF matching system. An actively water-cooled Faraday shield is located inside the driver region of the ion source for the stable and steady-state operations of high-power RF discharge. Plasma ignition of the ion source is initiated by the injection of argongas without a starter-filament heating, and the argon-gas is then slowly exchanged by the injection of hydrogen-gas to produce pure hydrogen plasmas. The uniformities of the plasma parameter,such as a plasma density and an electron temperature, are measured at the lowest area of the driver region using two RF-compensated electrostatic probes along the direction of the shortand long-dimensions of the driver region. The plasma parameters will be compared with those obtained at the lowest area of the expansion bucket to analyze the plasma expansion properties from the driver region to the expansion region.
