Ileoileal intussusceptions caused by inflammatory fibroid polyps are uncommon. Inflammatory fibroid polyps (Vanek’s tumor) are rare benign lesions that originate in the submucosa of the gastrointestinal tract. Here, we report the case of a 54-year-old woman who was admitted with an acute onset of abdominal pain and signs of intestinal obstruction. The ileal segment was resected, and single-layer end-to-end anastomosis was performed. A submucosal polypoid mass measuring approximately 4.5 × 4.0 cm was found. The histopathological analysis revealed an ulcerated mucosal lesion with variable cellularity that was formed by spindle cells with slight mitosis and abundant inflammatory infiltrate that was mainly composed of eosinophils. Immunohistochemistry confirmed the diagnosis of ileal inflammatory fibroid polyps. Cross-sectional imaging (multidetector computed tomography) plays a significant role in diagnosing this condition and guiding its management.

We report here a case of an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor in the retroperitoneum, which mimicked a germ cell tumor of the undescended testis. A 75-year-old healthy man presented with a palpable abdominal mass. On the computed tomography image, there was large, well-defined soft tissue mass in the left side of the retroperitoneum, and there was no visible left testis or seminal vesicle. After contrast enhancement, the mass appeared to be relatively homogeneous, considering its large size. With ultrasonography, it appeared as a well-defined, hypoechoic mass with intratumoral vascularity. This solid mass was surgically diagnosed as an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor.

Cimicifuga heracleifolia Komarov(CH) is used traditionally as a herbal remedy for many ***,published literature suggests that large doses of cimicifuga racemosa might be associated with ***,its long-term toxicity was not evaluated *** study was performed to evaluate 14-day repeated dose toxicity(RDT) and genotoxicity of CH extract according to the USNTP protocol and GLP guideline. To determine the appropriate dosage of CH extract administration,14-days RDT study were performed.14-days repeated dose study was performed to dosage levels of 0.125,0.25,0.5,1 and 2g/kg/day in F344/N *** test substance-related effect were observed in some criteria included mortality;clinical signs;body weight changes;urinalysis,organ weight,gross findings and histopathological findings. In reverse mutation assay of CH extract using Salmonella typhimurium TA98,TA100,TA102,TA1535 and TA1537,test substance was diluted to 5 dosage levels of 312.5,625,1,250,2,500 and 5,000μg/plate with D.D.W..Each tester strain was exposed to the test item with and without metabolic activation *** extract might not have reverse mutagenicity under the condition of this study. Chromosome aberration test of CH extract was performed to evaluate its clastogenic potential in Chinese Hamster Lung fibroblast(CHL) cell *** test substance was diluted to 3 dosage levels of 2,500,1,250,625fig/*** were exposed to test items for 6 or 24 hours in the absence of metabolic activation system,or for 6 hours in the presence of metabolic activation *** was no statistically significant increase in the number of structural or numeric aberrant metaphases at any dose both in the presence and absence of metabolic activation. Inverse Problem of Flame Surface Properties of Wood using a Repulsive Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

The convective heat transfer coefficient and surface emissivity before and after flame occurrence on a wood specimen surface and the flame heat flux were estimated using the repulsive particle swarm optimization algorithm and cone heater test results. The cone heater specified in the ISO 5660 standards was used, and six cone heater heat fluxes were tested. Preservative-treated Douglas fir 21 mm in thickness was used as the wood specimen in the tests. This study confirmed that the surface temperature of the specimen, which was calculated using the convective heat transfer coefficient, surface emissivity and flame heat flux on the wood specimen by a repulsive particle swarm optimization algorithm, was consistent with the measured temperature. Considering the measurement errors in the surface temperature of the specimen, the applicability of the optimization method considered in this study was evaluated.

The present paper describes an optimization work to obtain the properties related to a pyrolysis process in the solid material such as density, specific heat, conductivity of virgin and char, heat of pyrolysis and kinetic parameters used for deciding pyrolysis rate. A repulsive particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to obtain the pyrolysis-related properties. In the previous study all properties obtained only using a cone calorimeter but in this paper both the cone calorimeter and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) are used for precisely optimizing the pyrolysis properties. In the TGA test a very small mass is heated up and conduction and heat capacity in the specimen is negligible so kinetic parameters can first be optimized. Other pyrolysis-related properties such as virgin/char specific heat and conductivity and char density are also optimized in the cone calorimeter test with the already decided parameters in the TGA test.

BACKGROUND Primary non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma of the frontal sinus is extremely *** addition,Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)has been reported to play a role in the development of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-related malignant *** the best of our knowledge,there is no report for the HIVassociated,EBV-positive primary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)in the frontal *** SUMMARY We present a unique case of HIV-associated,EBV-positive DLBCL in the frontal sinus in a 46-year-old *** tomography of paranasal sinuses revealed dense opacification of the right frontal sinus with combined soft tissue *** on the clinical and radiological findings,the initial diagnosis was complicated frontal sinusitis,presenting Pott’s puffy ***,HIV testing was positive on preoperative laboratory test,and the frontal sinus lesion was confirmed as EBV-positive DLBCL on *** Through this article,we suggest that EBV-positive DLBCL should be considered as possible diagnosis for patients with nonspecific space-occupying lesion of the paranasal *** also highlight an importance of clinical suspicion in diagnosing HIV infection because HIV serology is not routinely tested in patients with paranasal sinus problem.
