Dear Editor Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is among the most com-mon cancers worldwide,causing about 600,000 deaths annully[1].In HCC,stem cell-like characteristics,which drive early recurrence and therapy resistance,are major contributors to poor prognosis[2].In this current study,we integrated and analyzed gene expression data from human fetal liver cells and primary HCC tumors(n=1231)*** two clinically and biologically distinct hepatic stem cell(HS)subtypes,potential biomarkers associated with these subtypes,and a potential new therapeutic inter-vention for these subtypes.

Saccharomyces boulardii as a single trigger of food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome: Seven case reports

BACKGROUND Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome(FPIES)is the most serious type of non-immunoglobulin E(IgE)-mediated food allergic reaction manifesting as sepsis-like symptom,which can lead to *** boulardii(***),a probiotic prescribed frequently in clinical settings,has been reported to trigger FPIES in an infant with soy-triggered *** this report,we describe a new clinical FPIES in which *** was the sole triggering factor of acute FPIES adverse reaction in seven healthy *** SUMMARY Seven FPIES cases triggered by only *** were gathered from 2011 to the *** of the patients had previously experienced any allergic reaction to cow’s milk,soy,or complementary *** age of the patients was 4-10-months old,and the symptoms of FPIES developed after ingestion of ***,which is mostly prescribed for the treatment of gastroenteritis or antibiotic-associated *** patients experienced severe repetitive vomiting 1-3 hours after *** *** lethargy,marked pallor,and cyanosis were also *** IgE-mediated hypersensitivity developed in any *** was followed by initial intense vomiting in approximately 5-10 hours after *** ingestion,and only one case showed bloody,purulent,and foul-smelling *** patients stabilized quickly,mostly within 6 *** got all improved within 24 hours after discontinuation of *** *** can be the sole trigger of acute FPIES and be prescribed cautiously even in healthy children without FPIES.

Rapid development of vaccines and therapeutics is necessary to tackle the emergence of new pathogens and infectious *** speed up the drug discovery process,the conventional development pipeline can be retooled by introducing advanced in vitro models as alternatives to conventional infectious disease models and by employing advanced technology for the production of medicine and cell/drug delivery *** this regard,layer-by-layer construction with a 3D bioprinting system or other technologies provides a beneficial method for developing highly biomimetic and reliable in vitro models for infectious disease *** addition,the high flexibility and versatility of 3D bioprinting offer advantages in the effective production of vaccines,therapeutics,and relevant delivery ***,we discuss the potential of 3D bioprinting technologies for the control of infectious *** also suggest that 3D bioprinting in infectious disease research and drug development could be a significant platform technology for the rapid and automated production of tissue/organ models and medicines in the near future.

Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings of metastatic rectal linitis plastica from prostate cancer:A case report and review of literature

Linitis plastica is a rare condition showing circumferentially infiltrating intramural anaplastic carcinoma in a hollow viscus, resulting in a tissue thickening of the involved organ as constricted, inelastic, and rigid. While most secondary rectal linitis plastica(RLP) is caused by metastasis from stomach, breast, gallbladder, or bladder cancer, we report an extremely rare and unique case of secondary RLP due to prostate cancer with computed tomography(CT) and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) findings, including diffusion weighted imaging(DWI). A 78-year-old man presented with approximately a 2-mo history of constipation and without cancer history. On sigmoidoscopy, there was a luminal narrowing and thickening of rectum with mucosa being grossly normal in its appearance. On contrast-enhanced CT,marked contrast enhancement with wall thickening of rectum was noted. On pelvic MRI, rectal wall thickening showed a target sign on both T2-weighted imaging and DWI. A diffuse infiltrative lesion was suspected in the prostate gland based on low signal intensity on T2-weighted imaging and restricted diffusion. A transanal full-thickness excisional biopsy revealed metastasis from a prostate adenocarcinoma invading the submucosa to the muscularis propria consistent with metastatic RLP. We would like to emphasize the CT and MRI findings of metastatic RLP due to prostate cancer.

Review on Tidal Energy Technologies and Research Subjects

Tidal current power is one of the promising and reliable renewable energies with the advantage of continuous and predictable resource. It can make stable electricity regardless of weather conditions or seasons all year around. The required technologies for tidal current power in the ocean have been developed for years and now recognized that it could be commercialized after intensive field tests and successful demonstrations. There are several tidal farm development projects in the world, such as the MeyGen project in UK with its commercialization at hand. However, various research subjects in the tidal current energy field are seeking improvements and industrialization of tidal current power in terms of economy and technical reliability. This paper introduces the resource assessment procedure of tidal energy that has been applied in Korea coastal regions. The key research subjects for tidal current power together with the interaction effect of multi-arrangement is described. Also, this paper is to introduce the research output of each subject such as turbine design, experimental validation, turbine interaction and wake, multi-array module, FSI (fluid-structure interaction), and duct application.

Consistency of intensity ratio between spectral lines with similar self-absorption characteristics during ungated laser induced breakdown spectroscopy measurements

This work reports that the intensity ratio of spectral lines having similar self-absorption characteristics during laser induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) analysis can become nearly constant over a wide range of irradiation conditions if the intensities are integrated over a sufficiently long time. It is shown that the plasma temperature and intensity ratio of these spectral lines have temporal similarity. The spectral lines with similar self-absorption properties may be selected to improve the accuracy and consistency of LIBS analysis results under an environment with fluctuating measurement conditions.

One-dimensional alkali metal titanates containing potassium,sodium,and lithium are of great concern owing to their high ion mobility and high specific surface *** those titanates are combined with conductive materials such as graphene,carbon nanotube,and carbon nanofiber,they are able to be employed as efficient electrode materials for *** hexa-titanate(K2Ti6O13,KTO),in particular,has shown superior electrochemical properties compared to other alkali metal titanates because of their large lattice parameters induced by the large radius of potassium ***,we present porous rGO crumples(PGC)decorated with KTO nanoparticles(NPs)for application to *** KTO NP/PGC composites were synthesized by aerosol spray pyrolysis and post-heat *** NPs less than 10 nm in diameter were loaded onto PGCs ranging from 3 to 5μ*** porous structure of the composites was obtained by the activation of rGO by adding an excessive amount of KOH to the *** KTO NP/PGC composite electrodes fabricated at the GO/KOH/TiO2 ratio of 1:3:0.25 showed the highest performance(275 F g−1)in capacitance with different KOH concentrations and cycling stability(83%)after 2000 cycles at a current density of 1 A g−1.

A Self-Learning Data-Driven Development of Failure Criteria of Unknown Anisotropic Ductile Materials with Deep Learning Neural Network

This paper first proposes a new self-learning data-driven methodology that can develop the failure criteria of unknown anisotropic ductile materials from the minimal number of experimental *** failure criteria of anisotropic ductile materials requires time-consuming tests and manual data *** proposed method can overcome such practical *** methodology is formalized by combining four ideas:1)The deep learning neural network(DLNN)-based material constitutive model,2)Self-learning inverse finite element(SELIFE)simulation,3)Algorithmic identification of failure points from the selflearned stress-strain curves and 4)Derivation of the failure criteria through symbolic regression of the genetic *** update and the algorithmic tangent operator were formulated in terms of DLNN parameters for nonlinear finite element ***,the SELIFE simulation algorithm gradually makes the DLNN model learn highly complex multi-axial stress and strain relationships,being guided by the experimental boundary *** the failure point identification,a self-learning data-driven failure criteria are eventually developed with the help of a reliable symbolic regression *** methodology and the self-learning data-driven failure criteria were verified by comparing with a reference failure criteria and simulating with different materials orientations,respectively.
