The lateral stability of Velocity-173, canard-pusher type airplane, has been investigated with and without an extended vertical panel. It is well known that Velocity-173 has an excellent longitudinal stability but a relatively poor lateral stability. To improve the lateral stability, two types of composite sandwich panel have been designed and attached to the vertical tail of Velocity-173. A series of flight test has been performed to measure the effects of the extended vertical tail. Analytical methods, such as maximum likelihood estimation method and real-time parameter estimation method, have been used to extract lateral controllability/stability derivatives from flight test data. This work validates the effects of an extended panel to the lateral stability.

研究了用不对称低隔膜加强常用方钢管混凝土梁柱节点的改进。这种节点类型可用于小震国家,如韩国。对低隔膜和横隔板进行了拉伸试验以加强它们的拉伸性能。制作了4种类型的方钢管混凝土足尺梁柱节点(带低隔膜、横隔板、水平T型杆和垂直板),并依美国ANSI/AISC SSPEC 2002循环加载方案进行试验。设计的水平T型杆和垂直板上的双头螺栓把梁底部法兰的拉应力传递至混凝土。对于普通抗弯组合框架(C-OMF),所有试件均满足AISC抗震规定的0.01rad的塑性转动能力要求。简化的低隔膜在实际工程中有足够的强度、刚度和塑性变形能力。

Background Researches on the mental health of Korean adolescents during COVID-19 have largely focused on those from monocultural families,but there is limited data on sadness,suicidal ideation,and suicide attempts in multicultural *** This nationwide serial cross-sectional study included 688,708 adolescents aged 12–18 years who participated in the Korean Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey from 2011 to *** compared and analyzed the prevalence of sadness,suicidal ideation,and suicide attempts among multicultural and monocultural *** adolescents were defined as those with at least one non-Korean *** In 2021,the prevalence of sadness among multicultural adolescents was 31.86%[95%confidence interval(CI)30.00–33.71],suicidal ideation 17.17%(15.74–18.61),and suicide attempts 4.25%(3.51–4.99).Among monocultural adolescents,the prevalence rates were 26.09%(25.50–26.69)for sadness,12.41%(11.97–12.85)for suicidal ideation,and 1.92%(1.76–2.67)for suicide *** from multicultural backgrounds were found to have higher rates of sadness,suicidal ideation,and suicide *** the general population,these rates had decreased during the pre-pandemic period but increased after the onset of the pandemic then stabilized from 2020 to *** gender,smoking,alcohol use,and low school performance emerged as significant risk ***,no distinct risk factors specifically linked to suicide attempts were *** regression analysis results aligned with the beta slope values in the main findings,reflecting a consistent pattern across both *** This study revealed that sadness,suicidal ideation,and suicide attempts increased during the pandemic,reversing a pre-pandemic *** adolescents faced these issues more than monocultural ones,underlining the need for targeted public health measures to support at-risk adolescents during pandemics.

AIM： To investigate prevalence of C/onorchis sinensis in patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, and the relation of the infection to hepatobiliary diseases in 26 hospitals in Korea. METHODS： Consecutive patients who had been admitted to the Division of Gastroenterology with gastrointestinal symptoms were enrolled from March to April 2005. Of those who had been diagnosed with clonorchiasis, epidemiology and correlation between infection and hepatobiliary diseases were surveyed by questionnaire. RESULTS： Of 3080 patients with gastrointestinal diseases, 396 （12.9%） had clonorchiasis and 1140 patients （37.2%） had a history of eating raw freshwater fish. Of those with a history of raw freshwater fish ingestion, 238 （20.9%） patients had clonorchiasis. Cholangiocarcinoma was more prevalent in C. sinensis-infected patients than nonnfected patients [34/396 （8.6%） vs 145/2684 （5.4%）, P = 0.015]. Cholangiocarcinoma and clonorchiasis showed statistically significant positive cross-relation （P = 0.008）. Choledocholithiasis, cholecystolithiasis, cholangitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and biliary pancreatitis did not correlate with clonorchiasis. CONCLUSION： Infection rate of clonorchiasis was still high in patients with gastrointestinal diseases in Korea, and has not decreased very much during the last two decades. Cholangiocarcinoma was related to clonorchiasis, which suggested an etiological role for the parasite.

Background Although smoking is classified as a risk factor for severe COVID-19 outcomes,there is a scarcity of studies on prevalence of smoking during the COVID-19 ***,this study aims to analyze the trends of prevalence of smoking in adolescents over the COVID-19 pandemic *** The present study used data from middle to high school adolescents between 2005 and 2021 who participated in the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey(KYRBS).We evaluated the smoking prevalence(ever or daily)by year groups and estimated the slope in smoking prevalence before and during the *** A total of 1,137,823 adolescents participated in the study[mean age,15.04 years[95%confidence interval(CI)15.03-15.06];and male,52.4%(95%CI 51.7-53.1)].The prevalence of ever smokers was 27.7%(95%CI 27.3-28.1)between 2005 and 2008 but decreased to 9.8%(95%CI 9.3-10.3)in 2021.A consistent trend was found in daily smokers,as the estimates decreased from 5.4%(95%CI 5.2-5.6)between 2005 and 2008 to 2.3%(95%CI 2.1-2.5)in ***,the downward slope in the overall prevalence of ever smokers and daily smokers became less pronounced in the COVID-19 pandemic period than in the pre-pandemic *** the subgroup with substance use,the decreasing slope in daily smokers was significantly more pronounced during the pandemic than during the pre-pandemic *** The proportion of ever smokers and daily smokers showed a less pronounced decreasing trend during the *** findings of our study provide an overall understanding of the pandemic's impact on smoking prevalence in adolescents.

The present study examined the effects of Tremella fuciformis(TF) on the learning and memory function and the neural activity in rats with TMT-induced memory *** rats were administered saline or TF(TF 25,50,100mg/kg,p.o.) daily for 21 *** cognitive improving efficacy of TF on the amnesic rats, which was induced by TMT,was investigated by assessing the Morris water maze test and by performing acetylchoine transferase(ChAT) and cAMP responsive element binding protein(CREB) immunohistochemistry. In order to confirm the underlying mechanisms of the memory enhancing effects of TF,we assessed the neurite outgrowth of PC12 *** also administered 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose and performed a PET/CT scan of the frontal lobe. The rats with TMT injection showed impaired learning and memory of the tasks and treatment with TF produced a significant improvement of the escape latency to find the platform in the Morris water maze at the 2 day compared to that of the control group(after the 2 day,p<0.05).In the retention test,the TF50 group showed increased time spent around the platform compared to that of the control group(p<0.05).Consistent with the behavioral data,TF50 mg/kg significantly alleviated the loss of ChAT-ir neurons in the hippocampus compared to that of the control group(p<0.001).Treatment with TF significantly increased the CREB positive neurons in the hippocampal CA1 area as compared to that of the control *** addition,TF treatment(50mg/kg) increased the glucose uptake approximately sevenfold in the frontal lobe(p<0.001) and it significantly promoted neurite outgrowth of the PC 12 cells(p<0.01),as compared to that of the controls. These results suggest that TF may be useful for improving the cognitive function via regulation of cholinergic marker enzyme activity and neural activity.

Background： Until now, various types of combined therapy with nucleotide analogs and pegylated interferon （Peg-INF） in patients with hepatitis B patients have been tried. Howe6ver, studies regarding the benefits of de novo combination, late-add on, and sequential treatmentare very limited. The objective of the current study was to identify the efficacy of sequential treatment of Peg-INF after short-term antiviral treatment. Methods： Between June 2010 and June 2015, hepatitis 13 e antigen （HBeAg）-positive patients （n = 162） received Peg-IFN for 48 weeks （mono-treatment group, n = 81） and entecavir （ETV） for 12 weeks with a 48-week course of Peg-IFN starting at week 5 of ETV therapy （sequential treatment group, n = 81）. The primary endpoint was HBeAg seroconversion at the end of follow-up period after the 24-week treatment. The primary endpoint was analyzed using Chi-square test, Fisher＇s exact test, and regression ***： HBeAg seroconversion rate （18.2% vs. 18.2%, t = 0.03, P = 1.000） and seroclearance rate （19.7% vs. 19.7%, t = 0.03, P = 1.000） were same in both mono-treatment and sequential treatment groups. The rate of alanine aminotransferase （ALT） normalization （45.5% vs. 54.5%, t = 1.12, P = 0.296） and serum hepatitis B virus （HBV）-DNA 〈2000 U/L （28.8% vs. 28.8%, t = 0.10, P = 1.000） was not different in sequential and mono-treatment groups at 24 weeks of Peg-INF. Viral response rate （HBeAg seroconversion and serum HBV-DNA 〈2000 U/L） was not different in the two groups （12.1% vs. 16.7%, t = 1.83, P = 0.457）. Baseline HBV-DNA level （7 log10 U/ml vs. 7.5 log10 U/ml, t = 1.70, P = 0.019） and hepatitis B surface antigen titer （3.6 log10 U/ml vs. 4.0 log10 U/ml, t = 2.19, P = 0.020） were lower and predictors of responder in mono-treatment and sequential treatment groups, respectively. Conclusions： The current study shows no differences in HBeAg seroconversion rate, ALT normalization, and HBV-DNA levels between mono-therapy and sequential therapy regimens.

Background: Because the cause and etiology of chronic headache is not yet fully explained, the treatment of this symptom is not simple. This study compares the effects of aroma acupuncture and normal acupuncture applied on chronic headache patients, in order to establish a primary data for further studies of new treatments and developments of new practical acupuncture. Methods: 38 clinical experiment participants were gathered and through a questionnaire patients who experienced headache for more than 4 hours a day and more than 15 days per month were qualified as chronic headache patients. The qualified patients were classified into two groups, aroma acupuncture group (Aroma AT group, n=23) and normal acupuncture group (AT group, n=15).
