MXene ink hosting zinc anode for high performance aqueous zinc metal batteries

Despite the safety,low cost,and high theoretical capacity(820 mA h g^(-1))of Zn metal anodes,the practical application of aqueous Zn metal batteries remains a critical challenge due to the Zn dendrite growth,corrosion,and hydrogen evolution ***,we demonstrate the MXene ink hosting Zn metal anodes(MX@Zn)for high-performance and patternable Zn metal full *** as-designed MX@Zn electrode is more facile and reversible than bare Zn and CC@Zn,as verified by better cyclic stability and lower overpotentials of symmetric cells with the plating capacity of 0.05 mA h cm^(-2)at 0.1 m A cm^(-2)and of 1 m A h cm^(-2)at 1 m A cm^(-2).The MX@Zn|MnO_(2)full cells deliver a high specific capacity of 281.9 m A h g^(-1),91.5%of the theoretical capacity,achieving 50%capacity retention from 60 mA g^(-1)to 300 mA g^(-1)and 79.7%of initial capacity after 200 ***,the patterned devices based on the MX@Zn electrode achieve high energy and power densities of 348.57 Wh kg^(-1)and 1556 W kg^(-1),respectively,along with a capacity retention of 64%and Coulombic efficiency of 99%over 500 *** high performance of MX@Zn is attributed to the high electrical conductivity and hydrophilicity of MXene and rapid ion diffusion through the 3D interconnected porous channels.

The polymeric gel electrolytes are attractive owing to their higher ionic conductivities than those of dry polymer electrolytes and lowered water activity for enlarged potential ***,the ionic conductivity and mechanical strength of the Na-ion conducting polymeric gel electrolytes are limited by below 20 mS cm−1 and 2.2 ***,we demonstrate Na-ion conducting and flexible polymeric hydrogel electrolytes of the chemically coupled poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)-dextrin-N,N′-methylene-bisacrylamide film immersed in NaClO_(4) solution(ex-DDA-Dex+NaClO_(4))for flexible sodium-ion hybrid capacitors(f-NIHC).In particular,the anion exchange reaction and synergistic interaction of ex-DDA-Dex with the optimum ClO_(4)−enable to greatly improve the ionic conductivity up to 27.63 mS cm−1 at 25◦C and electrochemical stability window up to 2.6 V,whereas the double networking structure leads to achieve both the mechanical strength(7.48 MPa)and softness of hydrogel ***,the f-NIHCs with the ex-DDA-Dex+NaClO_(4) achieved high specific and high-rate capacities of 192.04 F g^(−1)at 500 mA g^(−1)and 116.06 F g^(−1)at 10000 mA g^(−1),respectively,delivering a large energy density of 120.03Wh kg^(−1)at 906Wkg^(−1)and long cyclability of 70%over 500 cycles as well as demonstrating functional operation under mechanical stresses.

To the Editor： Although rare, multiple adverse events associated with anti-tuberculosis （TB） medication can occur simultaneously in patients with underlying diseases. Here, we describe a 76-year-old man with several preexisting disorders in whom anti-TB medication caused multiple, simultaneous adverse events, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome （SJS）, hypothermia, and lactic acidosis.

Radiotherapy as valid modality for hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein tumor thrombosis

Although the current standard treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) with portal vein tumor thrombosis(PVTT) is sorafenib, many previous studies have established the need for a reliable local modality for PVTT control, which is a major cause of liver function deterioration and metastasis. Additionally, there is growing evidence for the prognostic significance of PVTT classification according to the location of tumor thrombosis. Favorable outcomes can be obtained by applying local modalities, including surgery or transarterial chemoembolization, especially in second-order or distal branch PVTT. Rapid control of PVTT could maintain or improve liver function and reduce intrahepatic as well as distant metastasis. Radiotherapy(RT) is one of the main locoregional treatment modalities in oncologic fields, but has rarely been used in HCC because of concerns regarding hepatic toxicity. However, with the development of advanced techniques, RT has been increasingly applied in HCC management. Randomized studies have yet to definitively prove the benefit of RT, but several comparative studies have justified the application of RT in HCC. The value of RT is especially noticeable in HCC with PVTT; several prospective and retrospective studies have reported favorable outcomes, including a 40% to 60% objective response rate and median overall survival of 15 mo to 20 mo in responders. In this review, we evaluate the role of RT as an alternative local modality in HCC with PVTT.

Successful treatment of relapsed acute promyelocytic leukemia with arsenic trioxide in a hemodialysis-dependent patient: A case report

BACKGROUND Arsenic trioxide(ATO)is recommended for patients who do not achieve molecular remission or who have molecular or morphologic ***,there are no guidelines for adjusting ATO dosage in patients with severe renal failure or on ***,we report the successful treatment of relapsed acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL)in a patient on hemodialysis with ATO single agent and review the cases in *** SUMMARY A 46-year-old woman who has been on hemodialysis to chronic glomerulonephritis for 15 years visited our hospital for *** had been seen for pancytopenia 3 years ago and had been diagnosed with *** also received chemotherapy for APL but unfortunately was lost to follow-up after her second consolidation *** was noted to have pancytopenia by her nephrologist during hemodialysis 1 mo *** marrow biopsy and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)tests revealed a diagnosis of relapsed *** for relapsed APL with ATO single agent was started and she achieved molecular remission after administering 24 doses of *** far,four consolidation therapies have been performed with the ATO single agent,and,to date,the molecular remission has been maintained as negative promyelocytic leukemia/retinoic acid receptor-αfusion gene as confirmed by RTPCR testing for two *** This is a rare case of relapsed APL successfully treated with the single agent ATO in a patient on hemodialysis.

Proton therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma:Current knowledges and future perspectives

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related death, as few patients can be treated with currently available curative local modalities. In patients with HCC where curative modalities are not feasible, radiation therapy(RT) has emerged as an alternative or combination therapy. With the development of various technologies, RT has been increasingly used for the management of HCC. Among these advances, proton beam therapy(PBT) has several unique physical properties that give it a finite range in a distal direction, and thus no exit dose along the beam path. Therefore, PBT has dosimetric advantages compared with X-ray therapy for the treatment of HCC. Indeed, various reports in the literature have described the favorable clinical outcomes and improved safety of PBT for HCC patients compared with X-ray therapy. However, there are some technical issues regarding the use of PBT in HCC, including uncertainty of organ motion and inaccuracy during calculation of tissue density and beam range, all of which may reduce the robustness of a PBT treatment plan. In this review, we discuss the physical properties, current clinical data, technical issues, and future perspectives on PBT for the treatment of HCC.

Case mistaken for leukemia after mRNA COVID-19 vaccine administration:A case report

BACKGROUND Following the global outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),unlike other vaccines,COVID-19 vaccines were developed and commercialized in a relatively short period of *** large-scale administration of this vaccine in a short time-period led to various unexpected side effects,including severe cytopenia and thrombosis with thrombocytopenia *** many reports on adverse reactions,vaccination was necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19;thus,it is essential to understand and discuss various cases of adverse reactions after *** SUMMARY A 77-year-old woman was administered the second dose of Pfizer mRNA COVID-19 *** vaccination she experienced fever,myalgia,and *** were subsequently administered for several days,but there was no improvement in the *** patient showed severe thrombocytopenia and *** and abdominopelvic computed tomography showed no infection related findings,but splenomegaly and cirrhotic liver features were observed.A large number of immature cells were observed in the peripheral blood smear;thus,bone marrow examination was performed for acute ***,there were no *** patient recovered after administration of hepatotoxins and transfusion treatment for cytopenia and was diagnosed with an adverse reaction to COVID-19 *** Adverse reactions of vaccination could be mistaken for hematologic malignancies including *** report a patient with leukocytosis following COVID-19 vaccination.

Preconditioning process for dermal tissue decellularization using electroporation with sonication

Decellularization to produce bioscaffolds composed of the extracellular matrix(ECM)uses enzymatic,chemical and physical methods to remove antigens and cellular components from *** decellularization methods depend on the characteristics of tissues,and in particular,tissues with dense,complex structure and abundant lipid content are difficult to completely *** study enables future research on the development of methods and treatments for fabricating bioscaffolds via decellularization of complex and rigid skin tissues,which are not commonly considered for decellularization to date as their structural and functional characteristics could not be preserved after severe *** this study,decellularization of human dermal tissue was done by a combination of both chemical(0.05%trypsin-EDTA,2%SDS and 1%Triton X-100)and physical methods(electroporation and sonication).After decellularization,the content of DNA remaining in the tissue was quantitatively confirmed,and the structural change of the tissue and the retention and distribution of ECM components were evaluated through histological and histochemical analysis,*** of the chemical pretreatment that increase the efficiency of physical stimulation as well as decellularization,and conditions for electroporation and sonication without the use of detergents,unlike the methods performed in previous studies,were established to enable the complete decellularization of the skin *** combinatorial decellularization treatment formed micropores in the lipid bilayers of the skin tissues while removing all cell and cellular residues without affecting the ECM ***,this procedure can be widely used to fabricate bioscaffolds by decellularizing biological tissues with dense and complex structures.
