efficient cutting path planning for a non-spherical tool based on an iso-scallop height distance field

Iso-scallop height machining means,when machining a freeform surface,the scallop height between any two neighboring tool paths on the surface will be a constant(i.e.,the given threshold),which is preferable among various freeform surface machining strategies due to its high machining efficiency as well as better machine tool’s ***,all the.e.isting iso-scallop height path planning methods pertain to only the ball-end or flat-end types of *** recent years,the non-spherical cutting tool has become more and more popular,especially for five-axis machining of complex freeform surfaces,majorly owing to its non-constant curvature which can be utilized to adaptively fit the tool to the surface to both avoid the local gouging and enlarge the cutting ***,the.e.have been no reported works on iso-scallop height five-axis tool path generation for a non-spherical tool,and,in this paper,we present ***,we first define and construct two fields on the surface to be machined-the collision-free tool orientation field(vector)and the iso-scallop height distance field(scalar).The iso-lines of the scalar field and their associated tool orientation field vectors then naturally serve as potential iso-scallop height five-axis tool paths,and we present a propagation-based algorithm to construct the desired tool path from the *** computer simulation and physical cutting experiments confirm that everywhe.e.on the surface,except maybe near the saddle curves of the scalar filed,the scallop height is exactly the given *** adding the saddle curves as extra tool paths,the final machined surface then is assured of the required scallop height requirement.

excessive emissions of nitrogen oxides from flue gas have imposed various detrimental impacts on environment,and the development of deNO_(x) catalysts with low-cost and high performance is an urgent *** oxide-based material has been explored for promising deNO_(x) ***,the unsatisfactory low-temperature activity limits their practical *** this study,a series of excellent low-temperature denitrification catalysts(Ha-FeO_(x)/yZS)were prepared by acid treatment of zinc slag,and the mass ratios of Fe to impure ions was regulated by adjusting the acid ***-FeO_(x)/yZS showed high denitrification performance(>90%)in the range of 180–300℃,and the optimal NO conversion and N2 selectivity were higher than 95%at 250℃.Among them,the Ha-FeO_(x)/2ZS synthesized with 2 mol/L HNO3 exhibited the widest temperature window(175–350℃).The.e.cellent denitrification performance of Ha-FeO_(x)/yZS was mainly attributed to the strong interaction between Fe and impurity ions to inhibit the growth of crystals,making Ha-FeO_(x)/yZS with amorphous structure,nice fine particles,large specific surface area,more surface acid sites and high chemisorbed *** in-situ DRIFT experiments confirmed that the SCR reaction on the Ha-FeO_(x)/yZS followed both Langmuir-Hinshelwood(L-H)mechanism and eley-Rideal(e-R)*** present work proposed a high value-added method for the preparation of cost-effective catalysts from zinc slag,which showed a promising application prospect in NO_(x) removal by selective catalytic reduction with ammonia.

In this paper,the approximate synchronization of leader-follower multiagent systems(MASs) over finite fields is studied in regard to local and global ***,the approximately synchronous state set(ASSS) is ***,combined with ASSS and transient periods,some criteria for the local and global approximate synchronization of systems are ***,the algorithms for calculating the maximum approximately synchronous basin(MASB) and the maximum control invariant set(MCIS) are ***,the global approximate synchronization of the system is achieved by designing the state feedback control,and a design algorithm of the controller using the truth matrix method is ***,the results of approximate synchronization are degenerated to complete ***,two examples are shown to demonstrate the results of this paper.

An STP look at logical blocking of finite state machines: formulation, detection, and search

The logical blocking of finite state machines(FSMs) is examined at the three levels of formulation,detection, and search from an STP viewpoint(semi-tensor product of matrices). The research idea regards an FSM as a logical system. The realizing method treats the.e.ent sequence exciting an FSM as the input signal of a logical system and treats the current states of an FSM as the states of a logical system. Based on a recently developed bilinear dynamic model of FSMs, a difference equation-like model is first proposed to describe the logical blocking. By defining a loop structure of FSMs and using the difference equation-like model, a criterion is built by which whether a given FSM is blocking can be easily judged. If it is, several algorithms are designed to find all the logical blocking of the FSM. Further, the.e.results are extended to apply to the case of nondeterministic FSMs and, thus, to networks of FSMs. The proposed STP approach may provide a new angle for considering the problems of FSMs, and the presented results may strengthen the links between systems governed by human-designed rules and systems governed by natural laws.

Hypoxia is a typical feature of the tumor microenvironment,one of the most critical factors affecting cell behavior and tumor ***,the lack of tumor models able to precisely emulate natural brain tumor tissue has impeded the study of the.e.fects of hypoxia on the progression and growth of tumor *** study reports a three-dimensional(3D)brain tumor model obtained by encapsulating U87MG(U87)cells in a hydrogel containing type I *** also documents the.e.fect of various oxygen concentrations(1%,7%,and 21%)in the culture environment on U87 cell morphology,proliferation,viability,cell cycle,apoptosis rate,and ***,it compares two-dimensional(2D)and 3D *** comparison purposes,cells cultured in flat culture dishes were used as the control(2D model).Cells cultured in the 3D model proliferated more slowly but had a higher apoptosis rate and proportion of cells in the resting phase(G0 phase)/gap I phase(G1 phase)than those cultured in the 2D ***,the two models yielded significantly different cell ***,hypoxia(e.g.,1%O2)affected cell morphology,slowed cell growth,reduced cell viability,and increased the apoptosis rate in the 3D *** results indicate that the constructed 3D model is effective for investigating the.e.fects of biological and chemical factors on cell morphology and function,and can be more representative of the tumor microenvironment than 2D culture *** developed 3D glioblastoma tumor model is equally applicable to other studies in pharmacology and pathology.

Constraint on the focal mechanism of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake from the radial modes

Different from other normal modes of the.e.rth’s free oscillation that depend on all the six components(M_(rr),M_(tt),M_(pp),M_(rt),M_(rp),and M_(tp))of the centroid moment tensor,the amplitudes of the radial modes depend on the M_(rr)component(e.g.,scalar moment(M_(0)),dip(δ),and slip(λ))and hypocenter depth of the focal mechanism,and hence can be easily used to constrain the.e.parameters of the focal *** this study,we use the superconducting gravimeter(SG)records after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake to analyze the radial modes_(0)S_(0)and_(1)S_(0).Based on the solutions of the focal mechanism provided by the GCMT and USGS,we can obtain the theoretical amplitudes of the.e.two radial *** the theoretical amplitudes with the observation amplitudes,it is found that the.e.are obvious differences between the former and the latter,which means that the GCMT and USGS focal mechanisms cannot well represent the real focal mechanism of the 2011 *** the GCMT solution as a reference and changing the depth and the three parameters of the M_(rr)moment,the scalar moment(M_(0))and the dip(δ)have significant influences,but the.e.fects of the slip(λ)and the depth are *** comparisons,we provide a new constraint(M_(0)=5.8±0.09×10^(22)N·m,δ=10.1±0.08°,λ=88°,and depth=20 km)for the focal mechanism of the 2011 *** addition,we further determine the center frequency(1.631567±2.6e^(-6)mHz)and quality factor(2046.4±50.1)of the_(1)S_(0)mode.

Numerical study on local failures of reinforced concrete slabs against underwater close-in explosions

Reinforced concrete(RC)slabs are the primary load-carrying member of underwater *** can suffer severe local failures such as cratering,spalling,or breaching as a result of underwater close-in(UWCI)*** this study,we established a fully validated high-fidelity finite element analysis approach to precisely reproduce the local failures of RC slabs after a UWCI explosion.A recently proposed dynamic constitutive model is used to describe wet *** effects of free water content on the material properties,including the tensile/compressive strength,elastic modulus,strain rate effect,failure strength surface,and equation of state,are comprehensively calibrated based on existing test *** calibrated material parameters are then verified by a single-element test.A high-fidelity finite element analysis(FeA)approach of an RC slab subjected to a UWCI explosion is established using an arbitrary Lagrangian-eulerian(ALe)*** previous UWCI explosion tests on RC orifice targets and underwater contact explosion tests on saturated concrete slabs showed that the.e.tablished FeA approach could accurately reproduce the pressure-time history in water and damage patterns,including the cracking,cratering,and spalling,of the RC orifice target and saturated concrete ***,parametric studies conducted by simulating an RC slab subjected to a UWCI explosion showed that:(i)the local failure of an RC slab enlarges with increased charge weight,reduced standoff distance,and reduced structural thickness;(ii)compared to a water-backed RC slab,an air-backed RC slab exhibits much more obvious local and structural ***,to aid the anti-explosion design of relevant underwater facilities,based on over 90 simulation cases empirical formulae are summarized to predict local failure modes,i.e.,no spall,spall,and breach,of water-and air-backed RC slabs subjected to a UWCI explosion.

Accurate Distinction of Weak and Strong AC Grids for emerging Hierarchical-Infeed LCC-UHVDC Systems

Distinction of weak and strong AC grids for emerging hierarchical-infeed LCC-UHVDC systems is important for planning and operation departments. However, accuracy of earlier distinction methods is limited as they were developed by empirical reasoning without rigorous theoretical analysis. hence in this letter, hierarchical-infeed interactive effective short-circuit ratio (HIeSCR) index is first used for strength evaluation of HIDC systems with complex inter-inverter interactions considered. Boundary HIeSCR (BHIeSCR) is also introduced in the proposed distinction method of weak and strong AC grids. That is, weak (or strong) AC grids are, respectively, identified when HIeSCR is less (or greater) than BHIeSCR. Second, it is shown BHIeSCR remains almost unchanged as 3.0 versus various system parameters and rated operation variables based on rigorous theoretical analysis. This salient feature makes the proposed method more accurate than earlier methods. Finally, the proposed method is validated by simulations based on the PSCAD/eMTDC program.
