EDOA: an efficient delay optimization approach for mixed-polarity Reed-Muller logic circuits under the unit delay model

Delay optimization has recently attracted signif-icant attention. However, few studies have focused on the delay optimization of mixed-polarity Reed-Muller (MPRM) logic circuits. In this paper, we propose an efficient delay op-timization approach (EDOA) for MPRM logic circuits under the unit delay model, which can derive an optimal MPRM logic circuit with minimum delay. First, the simplest MPRM expression with the fewest number of product terms is ob-tained using a novel Reed-Muller expression simplification approach (RMESA) considering don't-care terms. Second, a minimum delay decomposition approach based on a Huffman tree construction algorithm is utilized on the simplest MPRM expression. Experimental results on MCNC benchmark cir-cuits demonstrate that compared to the Berkeley SIS 1.2 and ABC, the EDOA can significantly reduce delay for most cir-cuits. Furthermore, for a few circuits, while reducing delay, the EDOA incurs an area penalty.

Simulation of FY-2D infrared brightness temperature and sensitivity analysis to the errors of WRF simulated cloud variables

This study simulated FY-2 D satellite infrared brightness images based on the WRF and RTTOV models. The effects of prediction errors in WRF micro-and macroscale cloud variables on FY-2 D infrared brightness temperature accuracy were analyzed. The principle findings were as follows. In the T+0–48 h simulation time, the root mean square errors of the simulated brightness temperatures were within the range 10–27 K, i.e., better than the range of 20–40 K achieved previously. In the T+0–24 h simulation time, the correlation coefficients between the simulated and measured brightness temperatures for all four channels were >0.5. The simulation performance of water channel IR3 was stable and the best. The four types of cloud microphysical scheme considered all showed that the simulated values of brightness temperature in clouds were too high and that the distributions of cloud systems were incomplete, especially in typhoon areas. The performance of the THOM scheme was considered best, followed in descending order by the WSM6, WDM6, and LIN schemes. Compared with observed values, the maximum deviation appeared in the range 253–273 K for all schemes. On the microscale, the snow water mixing ratio of the THOM scheme was much bigger than that of the other schemes. Improving the production efficiency or increasing the availability of solid water in the cloud microphysical scheme would provide slight benefit for brightness temperature simulations. On the macroscale, the cloud amount obtained by the scheme used in this study was small. Improving the diagnostic scheme for cloud amount, especially high-level cloud, could improve the accuracy of brightness temperature simulations. These results could provide an intuitive reference for forecasters and constitute technical support for the creation of simulated brightness temperature images for the FY-4 satellite.

Data-driven Optimal Dynamic Dispatch for Hydro-PV-PHS Integrated Power Systems Using Deep Reinforcement Learning Approach

To utilize electricity in a clean and integrated manner,a zero-carbon hydro-photovoltaic(PV)-pumped hydro storage(PHS)integrated power system is studied,considering the uncertainties of PV and load *** is a challenge for operators to develop a dynamic dispatch mechanism for such a system,and traditional dispatch methods are difficult to adapt to random changes in the actual ***,this study proposes a real-time dynamic dispatch strategy considering economic operation and complementary regulatory ***,the dynamic dispatch of a hydro-PV-PHS integrated power system is presented as a multi-objective optimization problem and the weight factor between different goals is effectively calculated using information ***,the dispatch model is converted into the Markov decision process,where the dynamic dispatch decision is formulated as a reinforcement learning ***,a deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG)is deployed towards the online decision for dispatch in continuous action ***,a case study is applied to evaluate the performance of the proposed method based on a real hydroPV-PHS integrated power system in *** show that the system agent reduces the power volatility of supply by 26.7%after hydropower regulating and further relieves power fluctuation at the point of common coupling(PCC)to the upperlevel grid by 3.28%after PHS *** comparison results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Generalized Energy Storage Allocation Strategies for Load Aggregator in Hierarchical Electricity Markets

The uncertainty of user-side resource response will affect the response quality and economic benefit of load aggregator(LA).Therefore,this paper regards the flexible user-side resources as a virtual energy storage(VES),and uses the traditional narrow sense energy storage(NSES)to alleviate the uncertainty of *** order to further enhance the competitive advantage of LA in electricity market transactions,the operation mechanism of LA in day-ahead and real-time market is analyzed,***,truncated normal distribution is used to simulate the response accuracy of VES,and the response model of NSES is constructed at the same ***,the hierarchical market access index(HMAI)is introduced to quantify the risk of LA being eliminated in the market ***,combined with the priority response strategy of VES and HMAI,the capacity allocation model of NSES is *** the capacity model is nonlinear,Monte Carlo simulation and adaptive particle swarm optimization algorithm are used to solve *** order to verify the effectiveness of the model,the data from PJM market in the United States is used for *** results show that the model established can provide the effective NSES capacity allocation strategy for LA to compensate the uncertainty of VES response,and the economic benefit of LA can be increased by 52.2%at its *** the reasonable NSES capacity allocation,LA is encouraged to improve its own resource level,thus forming a virtuous circle of market competition.
