Effect of Planting Density and Fertilizer Application on Fiber Yield of Ramie (Boehmeria nivea)

As the most important cultural practices for ramie （Boehmeria nivea） production, the single effects of plant density and nitrogen （N）, phosphorus （P）, potassium （K） fertilization on yield are well documented. To achieve the high yield and quality of ramie fiber, it is principal to quantify the fertilizer dosage for ramie sustainable production. A central composite design （CCD） was adopted with three replications, for a two-year field experiment （2008-2009） in the Yangtze River Valley of China. The aim was to evaluate both the individual and combined effects of plant density and N, P, and K fertilization on yield and fiber quality. The effects of the four factors on yield and quality of ramie cultivar Huazhu 4 were tested. Then mathematical models of the relationship among the four factors affecting ramie production and quality were established and analyzed to optimize the four factors, and used to establish optimum cultivation methods for the elite cultivar suitable to this area of the Yangtze River Valley. Supplements of N （X2）, P 0（3） and K 0（4）, and the density （X0 with N （X2） interaction significantly influenced strength in tests of mature ramie. The influence on fiber yield in the two year tests by the four factors ranked as follows： X3〉X4〉X~〉X2. We established the optimization technique attaining yield of 2 600 kg ha-~ in the tests as following： density of 28 350-31 650 plants ha-1, and supplements of N, P and K of 363-387, 98.58-105.48 and 280.20- 319.8 kg ha-1, respectively. It was concluded that nitrogen mostly improved plant growth and fiber yield while potassium had discernible effects on fiber quality.

Commercial lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have been widely used in various energy storage systems. However, many unfavorable factors of LIBs have prompted researchers to turn their attention to the development of emerging secondary batteries. Aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) present some prominent advantages with environmental friendliness, low cost and convenient operation feature. MnO_(2) electrode is the first to be discovered as promising cathode material. So far, manganese-based oxides have made significant progresses in improving the inherent capacity and energy density. herein, we summarize comprehensively recent advances of Mn-based compounds as electrode materials for ZIBs. Especially, this review focuses on the design strategies of electrode structures, optimization of the electrochemical performance and the clarification of energy storage mechanisms. Finally, their future research directions and perspective are also proposed.

The white-blotched river stingray(Potamotrygon leopoldi)is a cartilaginous fish native to the Xingu River,a tributary of the Amazon River *** a rare freshwater-dwelling cartilaginous fish in the Potamotrygonidae family in which no member has the genome sequencing information available,*** provides the evolutionary details in fish phylogeny,niche adaptation,and skeleton *** this study,we present its draft genome of 4.11 Gb comprising 16,227 contigs and 13,238 scaffolds,with contig N50 of 3937 kb and scaffold N50 of 5675 kb in *** analysis shows that *** is a slow-evolving fish that diverged from elephant sharks about 96 million years ***,two gene families related to the immune system(immunoglobulin heavy constant delta genes and T-cell receptor alpha/delta variable genes)exhibit expansion in *** *** also identified the Hox gene clusters in *** and discovered that seven Hox genes shared by five representative fish species are missing in *** RNA sequencing data from *** and other three fish species demonstrate that fishes have a more diversified tissue expression spectrum when compared to *** functional studies suggest that lack of the gc gene encoding vitamin D-binding protein in cartilaginous fishes(both *** and Callorhinchus milii)could partly explain the absence of hard bone in their ***,this genome resource provides new insights into the niche adaptation,body plan,and skeleton formation of ***,as well as the genome evolution in cartilaginous fishes.

Identify Plant Drought Stress by 3D-Based Image

Plants respond to drought stress with different physical manners, such as morphology and color of leaves. Thus, plants can be considered as a sort of living-sensors for monitoring dynamic of soil water content or the stored water in plant body. Because of difficulty to identify the early wilting symptom of plants from the results in 2D （two-dimension） space, this paper presented a preliminary study with 3D （three-dimension）-based image, in which a laser scanner was used for achieving the morphological information of zucchini （Cucurbita pepo） leaves. Moreover, a leaf wilting index （DLWIF） was defined by fractal dimension. The experiment consisted of phase-1 for observing the temporal variation of DLWIF and phase-2 for the validation of this index. During the experiment, air temperature, luminous intensity, and volumetric soil water contents （VSWC） were simultaneously recorded over time. The results of both phases fitted the bisector （line： 1：1） with R2=0.903 and REMS=0.155. More significantly, the influence of VSWC with three levels （0.22, 0.30, and 0.36 cm3 cm-3） on the response of plant samples to drought stress was observed from separated traces of DLWIF. In brief, two conclusions have been made：（i） the laser scanner is an effective tool for the non-contact detection of morphological wilting of plants, and （ii） defined DLWIF can be a promising indicator for a category of plants like zucchini.

Projects involving the construction of rock salt underground gas storage have several disadvantages,for example,effective management is not employed to manage the production information and data in the process of the project,resulting in duplication of data storage,waste of storage space,lower efficiency of data calling,and negative effects on the efficiency of data ***,a database and its management systems for a rock salt gas storage was constructed based on an SQL Server database system,primarily including the management forms of the geological modeling,storage simulation,stability evaluation,economic evaluation,and covering the addition and delete checks of static and dynamic *** security of the system was improved by setting the administrator *** establishment of the database management system was of tremendous importance and it provided a significant technical support for the development of the gas storage project.

Photoluminescence properties of hexagonal indium tin oxide nanopowders prepared by solvothermal method

hexagonal structure indium tin oxide（ITO）nanopowders were prepared by a solvothermal process at only 175 ℃ for 24 h and post-annealing at 400 ℃, using metal indium and SnCl4·5 H2 O as the raw materials. The morphology, crystal structures and structure defects of products were, respectively, analyzed by scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, X-ray diffraction（XRD） and confocal microprobe Raman system, the elemental state was investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）, and the optical properties were carried out by ultraviolet-visible（UV-Vis） and photoluminescence（PL） spectrophotometers. The results show that the products are hexagonal structure with a particles size of 28-41 nm; the morphology of products consists of sphere and irregular *** pH values of solution increase, the content of oxygen vacancies increases and the optical band gap varies from3.59 to 3.78 eV. The products exhibit strong emission at417 nm with an excitation of 370 nm, and the PL intensity of samples increases with pH values increasing. Contrasting to cubic structure ITO powder, the hexagonal structure ITO has narrower optical band gap and higher PL intensity under the same excitation wavelength.

Non-radical activation of persulfate(PS)by photocatalysts is an effective approach for removing organic pollutants from aqueous *** this study,a novel Bi_(2)O_(3)/BiO_(1.3)I_(0.4)heterojunction was synthesized using a facile solvothermal approach and used for the first time for non-radical activation of PS to degrade propranolol(PRO)in the presence of visible *** findings found that the degradation rate of PRO in the Bi_(2)O_(3)/BiO_(1.3)I_(0.4)/PS system was significantly increased from 19%to more than 90%within 90 min compared to the Bi_(2)O_(3)/BiO_(1.3)I_(0.4)*** indicated that the composite system exerted an excellent synergistic effect between the photocatalyst and the persulfate-based *** tests and electron paramagnetic resonance demonstrated that the non-radical pathway with singlet oxygen as the active species played a major role in the photocatalytic *** existence of photo-generated holes during the reaction could also be directly involved in the oxidation of ***,a possible PRO degradation pathway was also ***,the impacts of pH,humic acid and common anions on the PRO degradation by the Bi_(2)O_(3)/BiO_(1.3)I_(0.4)/PS were explored,and the system’s stability and reusability were also *** study exhibits a highly productive catalyst for PS activation via a non-radical pathway and provides a new idea for the degradation of PRO.
