Source of metals related to gold occurrences in Cameroon, Central African Belt

Suites of granitic and metamorphic rocks form a perfect geological environment in which to investigate the source of metals related to gold deposits.In the East Province of Cameroon,the source of metals-related gold(grade~4.6 g/t)that occurs within metamorphic and granitic rocks remains ambiguous.The host rocks were subjected to XRF and ICP-MS whole-rock geochemistry and BSE/EDS mineral analyses to investigate the source(s)of metals related to gold in the Province.Petrographically,chalcopyrite-pyrite and magnetite-ilmenite are the main sulfi des and oxides of granites,respectively.The low-grade metamorphic rocks are sulfi de-rich consisting of arsenopyrite,chalcopyrite,pyrite,and sphalerite,and oxides include magnetite,ilmenite,hematite,and rutile.Cu,Ni,Co,Sb,Sc,and Zn concentrations depleted in high-grade metamorphic rocks and granites compared to low-grade metamorphic rocks.As well,Bi,Cd,Co,Cu,Ni,Sb,V,W,and Zn concentrations decrease with increasing temperatures from low-grade rocks to high-grade rocks and granites.The suite of depleted elements in high-grade rocks and granites is almost identical to those enriched in gold occurrences.We conclude that metals(Bi,Cd,Co,Cu,Ni,Sb,and Zn)related to gold mineralization in the East Province of Cameroon likely originated from metal-rich low-grade metamorphic rocks during prograde metamorphic processes prior to partial melting.

A Multi-Constraint Path Optimization Scheme Based on Information Fusion in Software Defined Network

The existingmultipath routing in Software Defined Network (SDN) is relatively blind and inefficient, and there is alack of cooperation between the terminal and network sides, making it difficult to achieve dynamic adaptationof service requirements and network resources. To address these issues, we propose a multi-constraint pathoptimization scheme based on information fusion in SDN. The proposed scheme collects network topology andnetwork state information on the network side and computes disjoint paths between end hosts. It uses the FuzzyAnalytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) to calculate the weight coefficients of multiple constrained parameters andconstructs a composite quality evaluation function for the paths to determine the priority of the disjoint paths. TheSDN controller extracts the service attributes by analyzing the packet header and selects the optimal path for flowrule forwarding. Furthermore, the service attributes are fed back to the path composite quality evaluation function,and the path priority is dynamically adjusted to achieve dynamic adaptation between service requirements andnetwork status. By continuously monitoring and analyzing the service attributes, the scheme can ensure optimalrouting decisions in response to varying network conditions and evolving service demands. The experimentalresults demonstrated that the proposed scheme can effectively improve average throughput and link utilizationwhile meeting the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of various applications.

The tremendous impact of large models represented by ChatGPT[1]-[3]makes it necessary to con-sider the practical applications of such models[4].However,for an artificial intelligence(AI)to truly evolve,it needs to possess a physical“body”to transition from the virtual world to the real world and evolve through interaction with the real environments.In this context,“embodied intelligence”has sparked a new wave of research and technology,leading AI beyond the digital realm into a new paradigm that can actively act and perceive in a physical environment through tangible entities such as robots and automated devices[5].

Strategies to improve T cell therapy efficacy in solid tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)are urgently needed.The common cytokine receptorγchain(γc)family cytokines such as IL-2,IL-7,IL-15 and IL-21 play fundamental roles in T cell development,differentiation and effector phases.This study aims to determine the combination effects of IL-21 in T cell therapy against HCC and investigate optimized strategies to utilize the effect of IL-21 signal in T cell therapy.The antitumor function of AFP-specific T cell receptor-engineered T cells(TCR-T)was augmented by exogenous IL-21 in vitro and in vivo.IL-21 enhanced proliferation capacity,promoted memory differentiation,downregulated PD-1 expression and alleviated apoptosis in TCR-T after activation.A novel engineered IL-21 receptor was established,and TCR-T armed with the novel engineered IL-21 receptors(IL-21R-TCR-T)showed upregulated phosphorylated STAT3 expression without exogenous IL-21 ligand.IL-21R-TCR-T showed better proliferation upon activation and superior antitumor function in vitro and in vivo.IL-21R-TCR-T exhibited a less differentiated,exhausted and apoptotic phenotype than conventional TCR-T upon repetitive tumor antigen stimulation.The novel IL-21 receptor in our study programs powerful TCR-T and can avoid side effects induced by IL-21 systemic utilization.The novel IL-21 receptor creates new opportunities for next-generation TCR-T against HCC.

The use of supported Co-based catalysts is widespread in various catalytic reactions due to their unique structures.The structural sensitivity of these catalysts is closely linked to their particle size and crystal form.Consequently,comprehending the structure–activity relationship requires the development of well-defined Co-based catalysts.herein,we employed a colloidal wet chemical process and a heterogeneous nucleation method to prepare well-defined Co-based catalysts supported by inert carbon nanospheres.The nanospheres’surface possesses abundant functional groups that efficiently capture metal complexes and facilitate the nucleation and growth of CoO nanoparticles.By adjusting the Co source concentration,solvent molar ratio,and nucleation growth kinetics,we successfully prepared CoO/carbon sphere(CS)catalysts with different particle sizes and crystal forms.The influence of metallic face-centered cubic(fcc)-Co^(0) particle size in the range of 6.6–17.6 nm on the performance of Fischer–Tropsch synthesis(FTS)using well-defined CoO/CS catalysts has been investigated.The result demonstrated that the turnover frequency(TOF)remained constant for CoO/CS catalysts with metallic fcc-Co^(0) particle size larger than 7.7 nm.However,both the selectivity and the activity changed for CoO/CS catalysts with smaller particles(hen metallic fcc-Co^(0) particle size was reduced from 17.6 to 7.7 nm,the cobalt time yield increased to 6.7μmolCO·gCo^(-1)·s^(-1),indicating improved catalytic activity.At the same time,the CH_(4) selectivity decreased to 4.9%,suggesting a higher preference for hydrocarbon production.These findings demonstrate the importance of particle size in Co catalyzed Fischer–Tropsch synthesis.The use of well-defined CoO/CS catalysts offers valuable insights into the structure–activity relationship,leading to a better understanding of Co catalyzed Fischer–Tropsch synthesis.

Circulating tumor cells(CTCs)are important biomarkers in the development and progression of lung cancer because they can reach other organs through the blood circulation and form distant metastases,exacerbating lung cancer progression.The presence of CTCs is also the main reason for the failure of nanomedicine-based lung cancer treatments.Therefore,magnetic MoSe_(2) nanosheets loaded with programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1),named PD-L1-MFP NS,were employed here to precisely capture lung cancer CTCs in the blood circulation through the tumor-targeting effect of PD-L1 killing CTCs with highly effective photothermal therapy(PTT).In addition,by increasing the expression of cytomegalovirus UL16-binding protein(ULBP)ligands on tumor cells,the PD-L1-MFP NS further activated natural killer(NK)cells and triggered NK cell-induced cancer immunotherapy,thereby enhancing the overall tumor-killing effect.In summary,this material designed to capture CTCs provides a substantial advancement for personalized PTT-triggered immunotherapy and has great clinical translational potential.

The emergence of microhemispherical resonant gyroscopes,which integrate the advantages of exceptional stability and long lifetime with miniaturization,has afforded new possibilities for the development of whole-angle gyroscopes.However,existing methods used for manufacturing microhemispherical resonant gyroscopes based on MEMS technology face the primary drawback of intricate and costly processing.here,we report the design,fabrication,and characterization of the first 3D-printable microhemispherical shell resonator for a Coriolis vibrating gyroscope.We remarkably achieve fabrication in just two steps bypassing the dozen or so steps required in traditional micromachining.By utilizing the intricate shaping capability and ultrahigh precision offered by projection microstereolithography,we fabricate 3D high-aspect-ratio resonant structures and controllable capacitive air gaps,both of which are extremely difficult to obtain via MEMS technology.In addition,the resonance frequency of the fabricated resonators can be tuned by electrostatic forces,and the fabricated resonators exhibit a higher quality factor in air than do typical MEMS microhemispherical resonators.This work demonstrates the feasibility of rapidly batch-manufacturing microhemispherical shell resonators,paving the way for the development of microhemispherical resonator gyroscopes for portable inertial navigation.Moreover,this particular design concept could be further applied to increase uptake of resonator tools in the MEMS community.

Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)has aggressive characteristics as exemplified by the high risk of recurrence,metastasis,and patient mortality.1 Cytotoxic chemotherapy may reduce tumor burden initially,but leave behind chemo-resistant breast cancer stem cells(BCSCs)that lead to tumor recurrence and metastasis.2 Chemotherapy induces BCsC enrichment through the activation of glutathione biosynthesis pathways,which increases intracellular glutathione levels and specifies the BCSC phenotype through complicated downstream signaling pathways.3 Glutathione S-transferases(GSTs),a superfamily(which contains seven cytosolic classes:Alpha,Kappa,Mu,Omega,Pi,Theta,and Zeta,and one microsomal class MGSTs)of phase Il enzymes that catalyze the conjugation of glutathione with electrophilic compounds,play a critical role in detoxification and chemotherapy resistance of cancer cells.However,the role of GSTs in the regulation of BCSCs is largely elusive.

Magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)induction pumps are contactless pumps able to withstand harsh environments.The rate of fluid flow through the pump directly affects the efficiency and stability of the device.To explore the influence of induction pump settings on the related delivery speed,in this study,a numerical model for coupled electromagnetic and flow field effects is introduced and used to simulate liquid metal lithium flow in the induction pump.The effects of current intensity,frequency,coil turns and coil winding size on the velocity of the working fluid are analyzed.It is shown that the first three parameters have a significant impact,while changes in the coil turns have a negligible influence.The maximum increase in working fluid velocity within the pump for the parameter combination investigated in this paper is approximately 618%.As the frequency is increased from 20 to 60 Hz,the maximum increase in the mean flow rate of the working fluid is approximately 241%.These research findings are intended to support the design and optimization of these devices.
