Background: Primary non-function(PNF) and early allograft failure(EAF) after liver transplantation(LT) seriously affect patient outcomes. In clinical practice, effective prognostic tools for early identifying recipients at high risk of PNF and EAF were urgently needed. Recently, the Model for Early Allograft Function(MEAF), PNF score by King's College(King-PNF) and Balance-and-Risk-Lactate(BAR-Lac) score were developed to assess the risks of PNF and EAF. This study aimed to externally validate and compare the prognostic performance of these three scores for predicting PNF and EAF. Methods: A retrospective study included 720 patients with primary LT between January 2015 and December 2020. MEAF, King-PNF and BAR-Lac scores were compared using receiver operating characteristic(ROC) and the net reclassification improvement(NRI) and integrated discrimination improvement(IDI) analyses. Results: Of all 720 patients, 28(3.9%) developed PNF and 67(9.3%) developed EAF in 3 months. The overall early allograft dysfunction(EAD) rate was 39.0%. The 3-month patient mortality was 8.6% while 1-year graft-failure-free survival was 89.2%. The median MEAF, King-PNF and BAR-Lac scores were 5.0(3.5–6.3),-2.1(-2.6 to-1.2), and 5.0(2.0–11.0), respectively. For predicting PNF, MEAF and King-PNF scores had excellent area under curves(AUCs) of 0.872 and 0.891, superior to BAR-Lac(AUC = 0.830). The NRI and IDI analyses confirmed that King-PNF score had the best performance in predicting PNF while MEAF served as a better predictor of EAD. The EAF risk curve and 1-year graft-failure-free survival curve showed that King-PNF was superior to MEAF and BAR-Lac scores for stratifying the risk of EAF. Conclusions: MEAF, King-PNF and BAR-Lac were validated as practical and effective risk assessment tools of PNF. King-PNF score outperformed MEAF and BAR-Lac in predicting PNF and EAF within 6 months. BAR-Lac score had a huge advantage in the prediction for PNF without post-transplant variables. Proper use

Developing non-noble metal-based electrocatalyst with high catalytic activity is essential for advancing hydrogen energy *** study introduces a hydrothermal method for synthesizing order Ni(OH)_(2) nanosheets,with H_(3)O_(40)PW_(12)(denoted as PW_(12))loaded onto reduced graphene oxide(rgO)coated on nickel foam(referred to as PW_(12)-Ni(OH)_(2)/rgO).This method contrasts with the electrodeposition of Ni(OH)_(2),where PW_(12) is added to the synthetic system to direct the assembly and morphology of the Ni(OH)_(2) through a hydrothermal *** this work,the nickel foam acts dual roles as both the substrate and the source of nickel for the formation of Ni(OH)_(2).The PW_(12)-Ni(OH)_(2)/rgO nanosheets,when successfully prepared and loaded onto the nickel foam(NF),exhibited superior electrocatalytic activity for the hydrogen evolution reaction(heR)in an alkaline electrolyte,achieving a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2) at an overpotential of 69 ***,we endeavored to expand the application of this material towards the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)by preparing PW_(12)-(Fe/Co)Ni(OH)_(2)/rgO through the addition of metal *** nanocomposite displayed outstanding electrocatalytic activity in alkaline electrolytes,with a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)at an overpotential of 211 mV,and demonstrated excellent stability over a 50 h period in a 1 M KOH *** results presented in this paper offer an effective strategy for the preparation of polyoxometalate-based inorganic materials with diverse functionalities,applicable to both heR and OER.

Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs),with the general formula MX_(2)(M=Mo/W/Fe/Co/Ni,etc.;X=S/Se/Te),have attracted extensive research interests for hydrogen evolution reaction(heR).Compared with numerous studies on noble-metal-free TMDs,the chalcogen-dependent heR catalytic properties of noble-metal-based TMDs are lack of sufficient research ***,a facile electrospinning-assisted synthetic strategy is proposed to synthesize ruthenium dichalcogenides(RuX_(2),X=S/Se/Te)nanoparticles decorated carbon nanofibers(CNFs).Benefiting from the identical nanofibrous morphology and exposed crystal planes of RuX_(2)(111),the catalytic activities of RuX_(2)@CNFs samples were investigated and compared in a fair and direct *** electrochemical measurements coupled with density functional theory calculations were carried out to probe their intrinsic heR catalytic activities,resulting in the catalytic activity order of RuS_(2)@CNFs>RuSe_(2)@CNFs>RuTe_(2)@CNFs in acidic media and that of RuS_(2)@CNFs>RuTe_(2)@CNFs>RuSe_(2)@CNFs in alkaline *** superior catalytic performance of RuS_(2)@CNFs mainly stems from the relative lower heR energy barriers and thereby the higher intrinsic catalytic activity of RuS_(2)(111),leading to ultralow overpotentials of 44 and 9 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2) in acidic and alkaline media,***_(2)(111)is endowed with the more optimized gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption(ΔgH*)than RuTe_(2)(111),but RuTe_(2)(111)shows enhanced catalytic property for H_(2)O dissociation and OH-desorption than RuSe_(2)(111),therefore,resulting in the altered catalytic activity sequences for RuSe_(2) and RuTe_(2) in acidic and alkaline media.

Thermo-Flow Performances for the Main-Auxiliary Integrated Natural Draft Dry Cooling System

Recently,natural draft dry cooling system with the main-auxiliary integrated air-cooled heat exchangers in the up and lower layers,has drawn attention to the electric power *** research firstly develops two physical models for the integrated cooling system,namely Case A and Case *** Case A,the main air-cooled heat exchanger is arranged in the upper layer and the auxiliary air-cooled heat exchanger arranged in the lower layer,while in Case B,the two heat exchanger systems are arranged in the opposite *** then,directing at the engineering TMCR and TRL 1 working conditions,the unit-local-overall thermo-flow characteristics of Case A and Case B are obtained and compared by numerical *** findings show that,for the auxiliary air-cooled exchanger,Case A has obviously higher cooling performances than Case B,with the difference varying from 5.46%to 7.55%.Whereas,for the main air-cooled exchanger,Case B shows the recovered cooling performances,with the difference changing from 1.15%to 2.99%.Case A is preferably recommended to the engineering application in consideration of more strict cooling demand of the auxiliary cooling ***,this research will provide some theoretical guidelines for the design and construction of the main-auxiliary integrated natural draft dry cooling system.

An eco-friendly and practical method for the clean preparation of 5-amino-1,2,4-thiadiazoles was *** WS_(2)as the semiconductor photocatalyst,both TEMPO and O_(2)(in air)as the redox catalysts,a variety of thiadiazoles were semi-heterogeneously formed in high to quantitative yields and could be easily collected by CPME extraction and ***,the catalytic system can be reusable for at least 5 reaction runs.
