Real-time mixing of multi-species powder challenges Laser Metal Deposition(LMD)of Functionally Graded Materials(FGMs).The current work proposes a novel method of using a static mixer to realize rapid,uniform multi-species powder mixing.Firstly,copper powder and 316L stainless steel powder are selected to complete the powder mixing observation experiment with Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM)and Energy Dispersive Spectrometer(EDS).Secondly,computational fluid dynamics and particle mixing simulation models are used to analyze the flow field and particle motion characteristics in the static mixer.Finally,LMD experiment and metallo-graphic observation are carried out with 316L stainless steel powder and WC powder to verify the feasibility of the static mixer.This study provides a theoretical and practical basis for powder mixing in laser processing with a static mixer.The conclusions can also be applied to other processing fields requiring real-time and uniform mixing of multi-species powders.

Chimeric antigen receptor-T(CAR-T)cell therapy,as a novel cellular immunotherapy,has dramatically reshaped the landscape of cancer treatment,especially in hematological malignancies.However,relapse is still one of the most troublesome obstacles to achieving broad clinical application.The intrinsic factors and superior adaptability of tumor cells mark a fundamental aspect of relapse.The unique biological function of CAR-T cells governed by their special CAR construction also affects treatment efficacy.Moreover,complex cross-interactions among CAR-T cells,tumor cells,and the tumor microenvironment(TME)profoundly influence clinical outcomes concerning CAR-T cell function and persistence.Therefore,in this review,based on the most recent discoveries,we focus on the challenges of relapse after CAR-T cell therapy in B-cell malignancies from the perspective of tumor cells,CAR-T cells,and the TME.We also discuss the corresponding basic and clinical approaches that may overcome the problem in the future.We aim to provide a comprehensive understanding for scientists and physicians that will help improve research and clinical practice.

The combination of network function virtualization and software-defined networking allows various network functions to process flows according to their characteristics and requirements.Due to the highly dynamic nature of the workload,the network infrastructure needs to properly schedule the underlying resources in order to respond to workload changes in a timely manner.However,the existing NFV platform lacks a comprehensive solution for how to scale under workload variation,which may seriously hurt the overall system performance.To improve the scalability of the NFV platform and ensure consistent high performance under dynamic workloads,we propose AdaptNF,a novel NFV platform designed to support a combination of course-grained and fine-grained resource scheduling strategies.To deal with resource imbalance,which is the essential scheduling problem that leads to insufficient NFV performance,AdaptNF adopts a novel algorithm that can efficiently balance the workload among multiple network function instances through stateless flow migration.Our controlled experiments show that the AdaptNF scheme can optimize resource allocation and ensure outstanding performance after scaling.In terms of network throughput and latency,AdaptNF significantly improves the performance of the underlying NFV platform.

In this study,a phenomenological model of the radio frequency(RF)behavior of a superconducting cavity fundamental power coupler is proposed by analyzing the simulation results of a transient beam-loading process in an extremely overcoupled superconducting cavity.Using this phenomenological model,the calculation of the transient reflected power from a superconducting cavity under beam loading can be mathematically simplified to algebraic operations without solving the differential equation governing the transient beam-loading process,while maintaining the calculation accuracy.Moreover,this phenomenological model can facilitate an intuitive understanding of the significant surge in the time evolution of reflected power from a superconducting cavity in certain beam-loading processes.The validity of this phenomenological model was carefully examined in various beam-loading processes and cavity conditions,and the method based on this phenomenological model was utilized in the transient RF analysis of the superconducting cavity system of the CAFe Linac,achieving satisfactory results.

The mixing of powders is a highly relevant field under additive manufacturing,however,it has attracted limited interest to date.The in-situ mixing of various powders remains a significant challenge.This paper proposes a new method utilizing a static mixer for the in-situ mixing of multiple powders through the laser-based directed energy deposition(DED)of functionally graded materials.Firstly,a powder-mixing experimental platform was established;WC and 316L powders were selected for the mixing experiments.Secondly,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectroscopy,and image processing were used to visually evaluate the homogeneity and proportion of the in-situ mixed powder.Furthermore,powder-mixing simulations were conducted to determine the powder-mixing mechanism.In the simulations,a powder carrier gas flow field and particle mixing were employed.Finally,a WC/316L metal matrix composite sample was produced using laser-based DED to verify the application potential of the static mixer.It was found that the static mixer could adjust the powder ratio online,and a response time of 1–2 s should be considered when adjusting the ratio of the mixed powder.A feasible approach for in-situ powder mixing for laser-based DED was demonstrated and investigated,creating the basis for functionally graded materials.

In the current soft-landing system,the lander-leg and the buffer are two independent parts which may cause weight problem.The traditional mechanical buffers also have their own shortcomings such as small buffer stroke and being non-reusable.A Novel Buffer Lander-leg with Yoshimura core (NBLY) is proposed in this paper,inspired by the Buckling Restrained Brace(BRB).The design details of NBLY and parameter definitions of the core are presented.The finite element analysis modes have been employed to analyze the nonlinear mechanical behaviors of NBLY subjected to the cyclic loading.NBLY with four different core styles of hexagon,octagon,dodecagon and hexadecagon are analyzed and compared.The restraining ratio and cumulative dissipation energy ratio have been obtained to evaluate the energy absorption properties.The results show that the origami pattern has significant influences on the deformation ductility,plastic energy absorbing and axial load transferring to the core.The NBLY with octagon core has outstanding properties,especially the hysteretic energy dissipation and enhancement of compression capacity.The interaction mechanism between the core and encasing member constrains the deformation extensions and contributes to the frictional energy dissipation of the NBLYs.This paper provides a new conceptual design of buffer lander-leg for soft-landing missions.It can realize the reuse function as a buffer lander-leg with better loading-bearing and energy absorption behaviors.

There are so many of our patients who have had heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF)and management really remains problematic.Approximately half of the patients with heart failure have preserved left ventrical(LV)systolic function and usually have some degree of diastolic dysfunction.Patients with reduced or preserved systolic function may have similar symptoms and it may be difficult to distinguish clinically between the two based on signs and symptoms.In developed countries,coronary artery disease(CAD)with resulting myocardial infarction and loss of functioning myocardium(ischemic cardiomyopathy)is the most common cause of systolic heart failure.Systemic hypertension remains an important cause of heart failure and,even more commonly in the United States,an exacerbating factor in patients with cardiac dysfunction because of other causes,such as CAD.Several processes may present with dilated or congestive cardiomyopathy,which is characterized by LV or biventricular dilation and generalized systolic dysfunction.Rare causes of dilated cardiomyopathy include infiltrative diseases(hemochromatosis,sarcoidosis,and amyloidosis),other infectious agents,metabolic disorders,cardiotoxins,and medication toxicity.Valvular heart diseases—particularly degenerative aortic stenosis and chronic aortic or mitral regurgitation—are frequent causes of heart failure.Persistent tachycardia,often related to atrial arrhythmias,can cause systolic dysfunction that may be reversible with controlling the rate.Diastolic cardiac dysfunction is associated with aging and related myocardial stiffening,as well as left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH),commonly resulting from hypertension.Conditions such as hypertrophic or restrictive cardiomyopathy,diabetes,and pericardial disease can produce the same clinical picture.Atrial fibrillation with or without rapid ventricular response may contribute to impaired left ventricular filling.

Recent advances in lymphoma treatment have significantly improved the survival of patients;however,the current approaches also have varying side effects.To overcome these,it is critical to implement individualized treatment according to the patient’s condition.Therefore,the early identification of high-risk groups and targeted treatment are important strategies for prolonging the survival time and improving the quality of life of patients.Interim positron emission tomography-computed tomography(PET-CT)has a high prognostic value,which can reflect chemosensitivity and identify patients for whom treatment may fail under this regimen.To date,many prospective clinical studies on interim PET(iPET)-adapted therapy have been conducted.In this review,we focus on the treatment strategies entailed in these studies,as well as the means and timing of iPET assessment,with the aim of exploring the efficacy and existing issues regarding iPET-adapted treatment.It is expected that the improved use of PET-CT examination can facilitate treatment decision-making to identify precise treatment options.

This paper analyzes the unified performance of energy detection(ED) of spectrum sensing(SS) over generalized fading channels in cognitive radios(CRs). The detective performance of SS will be obviously affected by fading channels among communication nodes, and ED has the advantages of fast implementation, no requirement of priori received information and low complexity, so it is meaningful to investigate ED over various fading channels. The probability density function(p.d.f.) of α-κ-μ distribution is derived to evaluate energy efficiency for sensing systems.The detection probability with Marcum-Q function has been derived and the close-form expressions with moment generating function(MGF) method are deduced to achieve SS.Furthermore, exact closed-form analytic expressions for average area under the receiver operating characteristics curve( AUC) also have been deduced to analyze the performance characteristics of ED over α-κ-μ fading channels.Besides, cooperative spectrum sensing(CSS) with diversity reception has been applied to improve the detection accuracy and mitigate the shadowed fading features with OR-rule. At last, the results show that the detection capacity of ED will be evidently affected by α-κ-μ fading channels, but appropriate channel parameters can improve sensing performance. In addition, the establishedED-fading pattern is approved by simulations,and it can significantly enhance the detection performance of proposed algorithms.

Driving intention prediction from a bird’s-eye view has always been an active research area. However,existing research, on one hand, has only focused on predicting lane change intention in highway scenarios and, on the other hand, has not modeled the influence and spatiotemporal relationship of surrounding vehicles. This study extends the application scenarios to urban road scenarios. A spatial-temporal convolutional long short-term memory(ConvLSTM) model is proposed to predict the vehicle’s lateral and longitudinal driving intentions simultaneously. This network includes two modules: the first module mines the information of the target vehicle using the long short-term memory(LSTM) network and the second module uses ConvLSTM to capture the spatial interactions and temporal evolution of surrounding vehicles simultaneously when modeling the influence of surrounding vehicles. The model is trained and verified on a real road dataset, and the results show that the spatial-temporal ConvLSTM model is superior to the traditional LSTM in terms of accuracy, precision, and recall, which helps improve the prediction accuracy at different time horizons.
