In this letter,single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNT)coating was used on the D-shaped silica fiber for ethanol sensing in aqueous *** performance of this structure as an ethanol sensor was studied here by monitoring output power variation and wavelength shift with changing ethanol *** the concentration range of 5%—50%of ethanol,the SWCNT coated structure showed an improved sensitivity compared to the uncoated *** sensitivity is improved from 0.0135 dB/%to 0.0409 dB/%with the *** SWCNT coated sample also showed a peak wavelength shift of 0.1 nm with the change of ethanol concentration in the same range.

Graphene oxide(GO)is a 2D coating material used to improve fiber optics sensors’response to relative *** resonators(MBrs)have garnered more attention as sensing media *** MBr with a 190μm diameter was coated with ***,tapered fiber light coupling was used to investigate the relative humidity sensing performance in the range of 35—70%rH at 25℃.The MBr showed a higher Q factor before and after GO *** sensitivity of 0.115 dB/%rH was recorded with the 190μm GO-coated MBr sample compared to a sensitivity of 0.022 dB/%rH for the uncoated MBr *** results show that the MBr can be used in fiber optic sensing applications for environmental sensing.

In this letter,a humidity sensor is demonstrated by applying a whispering gallery mode(WGM)from a microsphere resonator onto the ZnO nanorods coated glass *** diameter of the microsphere was 234μm and the glass surface was coated with ZnO nanorods using the hydrothermal method at growth duration of 12 h.A significant response to humidity level ranging from 35%rH to 85%rH has been observed with the sensitivity of 0.0142 nm/%*** proposed humidity sensor has successfully employed to enhance interaction between the whispering gallery mode evanescent and surrounds analyte with the assistance of ZnO nanorods coated glass.

This letter presents a biosensor utilizing a whispering gallery mode resonator characterized by azimuthal symmetry and crescent-shaped coatings of silver. The study investigates the impact of the coupling gap on the extinction ratio and Q-factor of the setup. The resonator is coated with silver in crescent shapes， ranging from 40 to 65 nm thick. Coupling is achieved with a silica waveguide， simulating the tapered fiber coupling method. Notably， the resonator exhibits a maximum sensitivity of 220 nm/rIU when coated with 55 nm silver in conjunction with a four nm-thick layer of thiol-tethered DNA. This biosensor holds promise for biomolecule detection applications.
