Otorhinolaryngology Diseases in HIV-Positive Patients: 208 Cases at the Donka National Hospital

Introduction: Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) diseases in patients living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/ AIDS) are relatively common and of concern to ENT specialists and other health professionals. Aim: It was to describe the epidemiological and diagnostic aspects of ENT and cervicofacial diseases in patients living with HIV/ AIDS. Material and Methods: This was a descriptive study with prospective data collection, conducted over a period of six months (September 16, 2019 to March 16, 2020), carried out at the ENT and Infectious Diseases Departments of the Donka National Hospital. Results: Of 522 HIV-positive patients, 208 (39.8%) presented with ENT diseases. Women represented 62.5% with a sex ratio of 0.6. The mean age was 42.21 years with extremes of 16 and 64 years. Housewives were the most represented (29.8%). Married people were the most affected (76.4%). Cervical involvement was present in 7.7% of patients. Otologic involvement accounted for 43.7%. Oral cavity and pharyngolaryngeal involvement accounted for 50.9%. Nasosinus involvement accounted for 55.7%. HIV type I was the most common (99.5%). Conclusion: Otorhinolaryngology diseases were frequent in HIV positive patients. They may constitute the first reason for consultation. However, these ENT diseases remain in appendix of the opportunistic diseases of HIV/AIDS taking the front stage.

In order to assess the quality of the Aqaba Gulf coastal waters for the sustainable use and development, and consequently for the national income, four field campaigns were annually carried out during the period from 2011-2013 to monitor hydrographic variables, i.e. temperature, salinity, pH, etc., nutrients, some heavy metals, i.e. iron, lead, copper, cadmium, chromium, etc. in addition to petroleum hydrocarbons. Except for the area of Sharm El-Sheikh Harbor, the results for the density, composition, and distributions of beach litter cleared out that the Egyptian shoreline of the Aqaba Gulf is relatively not affected by man-made litter. The area of Sharm El-Sheikh Harbor was subjected to many factors which undoubtedly affected the rate of man-made litter ac-cumulation, especially, oil contamination (oil and old or new tar) which is a good es-timator of levels of oil contamination and an effective means of evaluating the poten-tial threat of oil on coastal resources. The results of the present study cleared out also that water temperature followed seasonal changes in air temperature. Aqaba Gulf water is characterized by its high salinity and the presence of well oxygenated waters. Minor changes in the distribution of pH, BOD, DOM and COD, revealed limited effects of human impacts. Low levels of Chl-a and TSM concentrations and high transparency revealed also negligible effects for human impacts. Significantly higher sea water temperatures, TSM, DO, BOD, DOM, COD, NH4, NO2, PO4 and TP were observed in summer season compared to their corresponding values in winter season. On contrast, higher values of chlorophyll-a, NO2, TN, and SiO4 were observed in winter compared to summer season. Based on the mean annual values, Aqaba Gulf coastal waters are classified as oligotrophic to mesotrophic state. We report two cases of a man and a woman whose association of Crohn’s disease (CRD) and celiac disease (CD) was evident and significant. The characteristic of our patients was the young age of discovery, and the localization of the CRD which was different in the two cases: colic localization in the woman and ileal stenosing in the man. The diagnosis of MCO was confirmed by the histological study of the jejunal biopsies in both cases and by serologies (anti-gliadines Antibody) in one case. Through these two observations, we insist on the singularity of the association of the celiac disease to the Crohn’s disease and on the complex etiopathogenesis of CRD which could have common points with that of CD. This fact can help us to understand more the two diseases and thereafter master their management.

Adrenal myelolipoma is a benign, non-secreting tumor composed of adipose and myeloid tissue that can be complicated by retroperitoneal pain or hemorrhage. Its diagnosis is carried by the computed tomography (CT) and confirmed histologically. Surgery may be necessary in case of large volume, symptomatic mass or complication. We report the case of a 36-year-old patient who has a combination of myelolipoma and hereditary spherocytosis, which is extremely rare in the world literature. Computed tomography guided the diagnosis and surgical excision was performed because of the volume of the mass and its symptomatic nature. The evolution at two years was without recurrences.

The mucocele of appendix or mucosecreting tumor is a rare affection defined as a cystic dilatation of the light of the appendix following the intra luminal accumulation of mucinous, translucent, gelatinous, secretion which may reach either the entire organ or a segment more often distal. The pathogenesisis is discussed;the diagnosis is more often preoperative. The therapeutic depends on the histological nature. This goes from the simple appendicectomy, whose shapes are benign to the right hemicolectomy in the malignant mucocele. We report a case collaged in the general surgical service of the 5th Military Hospital.

穆罕默德((?)(?)(?)(?))曾经说过：“学问虽元在中国,齐当求之。”这表达了阿拉伯人对中国人民的友好感情和他们善于学习的优良传统。中国的对外汉语教学事业开始于1950年,至今已有近60年的历史了。近年来,作为中华文化的载体和国际交往重要工具的汉语,其地位日益提高,世界范围内对汉语教学的要求也在不断增长。中国与阿拉伯的友谊源远流长,早在唐代,两国关系就得到长足的发展。中国对阿拉伯国家的汉语教学始于上个世纪60年代未,这对后来中国与阿拉伯之间的关系发展奠定了良好的基础,产生了深远的影响。近年来,中国与阿拉伯国家在经济、文化方面的友好交流得到了进一步的发展,到中国学习汉语和其他专业的阿拉伯留学生迅速增多,这也大大促进了阿拉伯国家的汉语教学。本文描写了中国和阿拉伯国家密切交往的历史和阿拉伯国家汉语教学的发展,论述了针对阿拉伯学生汉语教学的难点。本文进行了汉语与阿拉伯语的对比研究,并调查了阿拉伯学生在学习汉语语音、词汇、语法、汉字和文化时所受到的干扰,这些干扰是阿拉伯学生学习汉语的难点。其研究的目的是为阿拉伯学生能够理解和应用汉语提供帮助。其中,语音包含着“发音、传递、感知”的问题：词汇是词的总汇,是语言的结构材料;语法是用词造句的方式,是语言的结构规则;语言中的文化因素也特别值得我们关注。同时,本论题也分析了阿拉伯学生学习汉语的各种偏误。希望这些研究能为提高阿拉伯学生的汉语水平,能为阿拉伯国家的汉语教学,能为汉阿两种语言的相互翻译,能为中阿文化交流、经贸发展提供有益的帮助。
