The nonlocal nonlinear Schr?dinger equation(NNLSE) with competing weakly nonlocal nonlinearity and parabolic law nonlinearity is explored in the current work. A powerful integration tool, which is a modified form of the simple equation method, is used to construct the dark and singular 1-soliton solutions. It is shown that the modified simple equation method provides an effective and powerful mathematical gadget for solving various types of NNLSEs.

The objective of this paper is to model the main reactions that take place in the Claus reactor furnace and compare it with actual data and simulated process. Since the most important point is the selection of suitable reaction conditions to increase the reactor performance, the model is formulated to predict the performance of the Claus plant. To substantiate the theoretical model, we used actual process condition and feed composition in Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refinery. Model equations have been solved by using MATLAB program. Results from MATLAB are compared with those from SULSIM? simulator and with actual plant data. The AAD (Average Absolute Deviation) of modeling results with actual data is 2.07% and AAD of simulation results with real data is 4.77%. Error values are very little and show accuracy and precision of modeling and simulation. The predicting curve for different parameters of the reactor furnace according to variable conditions and specifications are given.

BACKGROUND Retroperitoneal lymph node dissection(RPLND)plays a diagnostic,therapeutic,and prognostic role in myriad urologic malignancies,including testicular carcinoma,renal cell carcinoma(RCC),and upper urinary tract urothelial *** represents 2%of all cancers with approximately 25%of patients presenting with advanced *** cell RCC(CCRCC)is the most common RCC,accounting for 75%-80%of all *** SUMMARY A 71-year-old man presented with a history of benign prostatic *** was asymptomatic without any hematuria,pain,or other urinary symptoms.A computed tomography(CT)scan of the abdomen and pelvis showed a 1.8 cm left retroperitoneal lymph *** was no evidence of renal pathology.A core biopsy was performed of the left para-aortic lymph *** the primary tumor site was unknown,the morphological and immunohistochemical features were most consistent with CCRCC.A RPLND was performed which revealed a single mass 5.5 cm in greatest dimension with extensive *** retroperitoneal lymph node was most compatible with CCRCC.A nephrectomy was not conducted as a renal mass had not been detected on any prior imaging *** patient did not receive any type of adjuvant *** patient underwent surveillance with serial CT scans with contrast of the chest,abdomen,and pelvis for the next 5 years,all of which demonstrated no recurrent or metastatic disease and no evidence of retroperitoneal *** Our unique case emphasizes the therapeutic role of metastasectomy in metastatic CCRCC even in the absence of primary tumor in the kidneys.

Concurrent renal cell carcinoma and hematologic malignancies: Nine case reports

BACKGROUND The presence of renal cell carcinoma(RCC)and hematologic malignancies(HM)in the same patient is rarely *** primary findings have been described in these patients,including male gender and lymphoid malignancy predominance,and the HM are usually diagnosed before or simultaneously with the *** is a lack of evidence about clinical outcomes in this *** report the common characteristics of 9 patients diagnosed with concurrent RCC and HM and their clinical course and response to *** SUMMARY Four(44%)patients were diagnosed with RCC prior to the HM,the diagnosis was simultaneous in 4(44%)patients,and 1(11%)patient was diagnosed with the HM prior to the *** patients were treated with cytotoxic chemotherapy or radiation between the diagnosis of RCC and *** unique features were seen in our case series,such as 3 simultaneous cancers in 1(11%)patient,a splenectomy leading to remission of diffuse large B cell lymphoma without the use of chemotherapy in 1(11%)patient,chemotherapy and rituximab for lymphoma resulting in a complete response in primary RCC in 1(11%)patient,and immunotherapy providing an excellent response for primary renal leiomyosarcoma in 1(11%)*** These findings highlight the potential role of immune system dysregulation in patients with the diagnosis of RCC and HM whereby the first malignancy predisposes to the second through an immunomodulatory *** have the potential of being confused with lymph node metastasis from kidney *** node biopsy may be necessary at the time of initial diagnosis or in cases of mixed response to ***-term medical surveillance is warranted when a patient is diagnosed with RCC or *** should be aware of the higher prevalence of male gender and lymphoid malignancy with concurrent RCC and HM and that either of these conditions may be diagnosed first or they may be diagnosed simultaneously.

钢悬链线立管触底段与海底相互作用的复杂特性是工程设计中的一大难题,既要保证悬链线立管的弯曲在弹性范围内又要保证在其使用周期内满足疲劳要求。采用解析法对立管的形态和受力性能进行了初步的分析,将悬链线分为悬链段、边界层段和触地段3个部分,保证各段之间的连续性。同时用解析法和有限元法比较了刚-塑性海床,塑性海床和沟状海床3种不同海底模型,从而验证了理论方法的可靠性并运用理论方法对管道进行了疲劳评估。

In the present investigation, the effect of two different mineral nano clays and a synthetic nano layered silicate on the properties of a transparent polyurethane resin has been studied. Both high rotator Torusmill and high intensity ultrasonic deagglomerator are utilized for the dispersion process. Observations by means of the X-ray diffraction technique indicate the presence of different dispersion status of nano layers in polymer matrix. The optical effect of nano-filled clear coat was studied using goniospectrophotometer and compared with a blank clear coat to determine if it can be identified by human eye. Scratch and mar resistance tests presented considerable improvement. Gloss retention against rubbing increased significantly in the presence of merely 3 wt% of synthetic nano-filler.

Semi-deep foundations are a remarkable solution in conditions where the soil beneath the foundation is loose to a great depth and there is no possible way to use any way of soil improvement and applying piles would not be a logical way considering their cost and time of enforcing. Skirted foundations are a type of semi-deep foundations that can penetrate to the soil up to two times of their breadth. Estimating bearing capacity of these foundations is a long geotechnical problem for engineers whether under absolute or combined loading because of their usage in offshore and onshore projects. For estimating the vertical bearing capacity of these foundations, series of finite element analyses were performed for a range of embedment ratios to investigate the effect of the length of the skirt. The foundation has been modelled with two different types of soil and the results validated with previous analytical, numerical and experimental researches. In addition, the bearing capacity of a skirted foundation under combined loading in V-H space has been analyzed by this approach and the 2-dimentional failure envelope has been presented.

BACKGROUND Clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra is a rare type of aggressive cancer with a poor *** cell carcinoma of the urethra represents less than 0.02%of all malignancies in *** account for 10%of female urethral carcinomas,of which 40%are the clear cell *** the presence or absence of certain mutations through genetic testing may predict whether a patient with cancer may benefit from a particular chemotherapy *** SUMMARY A 40-year-old woman presented with a 3-year history of slow urinary flow and a 3-mo history of urinary urgency and frequency as well as gross *** abdominal and pelvic computed tomography scan demonstrated enlarged lymph nodes in the abdomen and pelvis.A biopsy of a left inguinal lymph node microscopically confirmed a metastatic adenocarcinoma of the *** genetic testing determined personalized *** was treated successfully with a non-platinum-based chemotherapy consisting of paclitaxel and *** 3 cycles of paclitaxel and bevacizumab,she attained significant clinical improvement,and response by FDG-Positron emission tomography(PET)imaging showed a definite improvement in size and metabolic *** achieved complete response after 6 cycles of therapy by PET *** patient concluded 11 cycles of paclitaxel and bevacizumab,and a subsequent PET scan confirmed progression of metastatic *** patient was then treated with two cycles of doxorubicin after which a PET scan revealed a mixed response to the *** We report the first case of a patient with metastatic clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra who underwent personalized chemotherapy after testing for cancer gene *** unique case represents the safe and effective use of nonplatinum-based chemotherapy in clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra.

In the field of maritime transport,motion and energy,the dynamics of deep-sea waves is one of the major problems in ocean science.A mathematical modeling of dynamics of solitary waves in deep sea under the two-layer stratification leads to NLS equation,and consequently,the interaction two of them can be formulated by coupled NLS *** this work,extended auxiliary equation and the exp(−ω(χ))-expansion methods are employed to make the optical solutions of the Manakov model of coupled NLS *** methods used in this paper,in addition to providing the analysis of individual wave solutions,also provide general optical *** previously known solutions can be obtained by some special selections of parameters obtained by solving systems of algebraic *** this stage,it is more practical and convenient to apply methods with a symbolic calculation system.
