Quantification of epicardial fat:Which method can predict significant coronary artery disease?

AIM:To compare the predictive value of three methods of epicardial fat(EF) assessment for presence of significant coronary artery disease(CAD) [i.e.,epicardial fat volume(EFV),EFV indexed with body surface area(EFV/BSA) and EFV indexed with body mass index(EFV/BMI)].METHODS:The study was performed on 170 patients(85 women and 85 men) with clinical suspicion of *** aged 26-89 years with a median age of 54 *** patients were classified into three groups:Group 1:58 patients with normal coronary arteries; group 2:48 patients with non-significant CAD and group 3:64 patients with significant *** three methods for assessment of epicardial fat were retrospectively studied to determine the best method to predict the presence of significant ***:The three methods for epicardial fat quantification and measurements,i.e.,EFV,EFV/BSA and EFV/BMI with post- hoc analysis showed a significant difference between patients with significant coronary artery disease compared to the normal *** operating characteristic curve analysis showed no significant difference between the three methods of epicardial fat measurements,the area under curve ranging between 0.6 and *** optimal cut-off was 80.3 cm3 for EFV,2.4 cm3/m2 for EFV indexed with BMI and 41.7 cm3/(kg/m2) for EFV indexed with *** this cut-off the sensitivity ranged between 0.92 and 0.94,while specificity varied from 0.31 to ***:Any one of the three methods for assessment of epicardial fat can be used to predict significant CAD since all have the same equivalent predictive value.

The trend of digital information transformation has become a topic of *** data are threatening;thus,protecting such data from attackers is considered an essential ***,a new methodology for data concealing has been suggested by researchers called coverless *** steganography can be accomplished either by building an image database to match its image subblocks with the secret message to obtain the stego image or by generating an *** paper proposes a coverless image steganography system based on pure image generation using secret message bits with a capacity higher than the other traditional *** system uses the secret message to generate the stego image in the form of one of the Intelligence Quotient(IQ)games,the ***,a full grid is generated with several specific rows and columns determined from the number of bits of the secret ***,these bits are fed to the full grid to form the maze game stego ***,the generated maze game stego image is sent to the *** experimental results,using the Bit Error Rate(BER),were conducted,and confirmed the strength of this system represented by a high capacity,perfect performance,robustness,and stronger hiding system compared with existing coverless steganography systems.

Correlation of Magnetoresistance and Thermoelectric Power in La1-xLixMnOy Compounds

The temperature dependences of the thermoelectric power, TEP, (S) and magnetoresistance (MR) effect of La1-xLixMnOy (x = 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2 & 0.25 at %) fixed valence doped compounds were studied between 80K and 320K. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) showed that the samples are single phase. We found the correlation of structures to the mag-netoresistance (MR) and the thermoelectric power (S) which we assigned to change the specific branches of the magnon /phonon spectra with x. We also observed a splitting of the Curie and the metal insulating temperature TC > Tms.

The successful manufacture of thick composites is challenging since the highly exothermic nature of thermoset resins and limited temperature control make avoiding the onset of detrimental thermal gradients within the composite relatively *** phenomenon is mainly caused by exothermic heat *** so-called Michaud's model has been largely used in the literature to reduce the gap between experience and simulation with regard to the effective prediction of the temperature cycle in these *** this work,another solution is proposed to simulate the curing process for thick composites,namely preheating the resin to activate the curing reaction before resin injection into the mold.A good agreement between the experiment and the simulation is ***,in order to minimize the thermal gradient in the final composite,the thermophysical properties of the fiber and the torque(temperature,time)of the Plate have been varied leading to interesting results.

Profile of Maternally Derived Antibody in Broiler Chicks and In-Ovo Vaccination of Chick Embryo against Newcastle Disease

In this study, we determined the suitability of lentogenic LaSota and naturally occurring avirulent I2 vaccine strains of Newcastle disease (ND) virus for efficacious in-ovo vaccination of broiler chickens. A total of 114 embyonated eggs divided into five groups (A, B, C, D and E) consisting of 25 eggs in each of groups A and B, 20 eggs in each of groups C and D and 24 eggs in group E were used in the study. Eighteen-day-old embryonated eggs in group A were vaccinated in-ovo with ND-I2 vaccine while the same age of embryos in group B were vaccinated with ND-LaSota. Thirteen-day-old embryonated eggs in groups C and D were vaccinated with ND-I2 and ND-LaSota respectively. Group E served as unvaccinated control. There was significant difference (p 2) used for the in-ovo vaccination were pathogenic for chick embryos, however, ND-I2 vaccine was better tolerated when administered to 18-day-old chick embryo.

Radioiodination of Cephalexin with <sup>125</sup>I and Its Biological Behavior in Mice

A procedure for radioiodination of Cephalexin with iodine-125 was carried out via an electrophilic substitution reaction. Using 3.7 MBq of Na125I, 200μl of cephalexin as substrate, 200 μl of iodogen as oxidizing agent in acetone at 40°C for 20 min, a maximum radiochemical yield of 125I-Ceph (95%) was obtained. The labeled compound was separated and purified by means of high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC). Nuclear facility aging is one of the biggest problems encountered in nuclear engineering. Radiation damage is among one of the aging causes. This kind of damage is an important factor of mechanical properties deterioration. The interest of this study is on the Es-Salam research reactor aluminum vessel aging due to neutron radiation. Monte Carlo(MC) simulations were performed by MCNP6 and SRIM codes to estimate the defects created by neutrons in the vessel. MC simulations by MCNP6 have been performed to determine the distribution of neutron fluence and primary knock-on atom(PKA) creation. Considering our boundary conditions of the calculations, the helium and hydrogen gas production in the model at a normalized total neutron flux of 6.62×10^(12) n/cm^2 s were determined to be 2.86 × 10~8 and 1.33 × 10~9 atoms/cm^3 s,respectively. The SRIM code was used for the simulation of defects creation(vacancies, voids) in the aluminum alloy of the Es-Salam vessel(EsAl) by helium and hydrogen with an approximate energy of 11 MeV *** coupling between the two codes is based upon postprocessing of the particle track(PTRAC) output file generated by the MCNP6. A small program based on the Mat Lab language is performed to condition the output file MCNP6 in the format of a SRIM input file. The concentration of silicon was determined for the vessel by the calculation of the total rate of ^(27)Al(n,γ)^(28)Si reaction. The DPA(displacement per atom) was calculated in SRIM according to R.E. Stoller recommendations; the calculated value is 0.02 at a fast neutron fluence 1.89 × 10^(19) n/cm^***-MRx standard for 6061-T6 aluminum was used for the simulation of the evolution of mechanical properties for high fluence. The calculated values of nuclear parameters and DPA obtained were in agreement with the experimental results from the Oak Ridge High Flux Isotope Reactor(HFIR) reported by Farrell and coworkers.

A dosimetric comparison between 3D-Conformal radiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy plans in the treatment of posterior fossa boost in children with high risk medulloblastom

Objective： The work is a comparative study between two modalities of radiation therapy, the aim of which is to compare 3D conformal radiation therapy （3D-CRT） and intensity modulated radiation therapy （IMRT） in treating posterior fossa boost in children with high risk medulloblastorna; dosimetrically evaluating and comparing both techniques as regard target coverage and doses to organs at risk （OAR）. Methods： Twenty patients with high risk medulloblastoma were treated by 3D-CRT technique. A dosimetric comparison was done by performing two plans for the posterior fossa boost, 3D-CRT and IMRT plans, for the same patient using Eclipse planning system （version 8.6）. Results： IMRT had a better conformity index compared to 3D-CRT plans （P value of 0.000）. As for the dose homogeneity it was also better in the IMRT plans, yet it hasn＇t reached the statistical significant value. Also, doses received by the cochleae, brainstem and spinal cord were significantly less in the IMRT plans than those of 3D-CRT （P value 〈 0.05）. Conclusion： IMRT technique was clearly able to improve conformity and homogeneity index, spare the cochleae, reduce dose to the brainstem and spinal cord in comparison to 3D- CRT technique.
